They're now in Kendall square on Wednesdays and a much needed addition to the very sad lunch scene. Delicious food and friendly service. My food was ready quickly. The portion size for the price is good for a non-chain, non-fast-food place. The naan was delicious and buttery and tasted fresh. The veggie curry was surprising in a good way, good level of spice. The only critique is that the veggies tasted like frozen veggies. Overall, tasty food, good portions. I would definitely eat here again.

Overpriced. Paid $20 for rice and chicken curry. Piratha bread was $2.75. The piratha bread was stale and soggy. Taste was not all that.

The food here is quite good. I tried something new recently. It was meat on a wrap thing. Very good.

Good Indian fare. We switch between this and Mayuri Acton, both are good. The kathi rolls are good.

I have eaten a lot of Indian food, but to match this I'd have to go back to a fine restaurant near Marble Arch in London.

I have been addicted to the Kathi rolls, but have loved pretty much everything that I've ordered there.

Default spice level is medium, and was too spicy for my partner, but perfect for me. If you have a low-medium, spice tolerance, you may want to ask for milder. The dosa was flavorful and strong enough to use to eat without it falling apart, which I've sometime experienced elsewhere. The dosa was a little oily, but well worth it in my opinion. I would absolutely get everything I tried again except the corn, which was tasty, but not a new favorite. I love trying new things, so I'd say this was well worth the try, and I look forward to tasting something else new from their extensive menu. Oh! And the chutneys were carefully flavored and really complemented the food. The restaurant is inside a store as well, so if you are low on ingredients for Indian cooking (e.g. dal, ginger paste, spices), you may be able to find what you need. The store shelves were under stocked when I was in, but I was excited about what they had to offer.

After seeing a Facebook post from this eatery, I stopped by Desi American Kitchen in Acton over the weekend for takeout. I checked out online menus through the business on Facebook and on DoorDash before heading over here. The business online menu had the regular menu and the weekend specials listed, but online fees would be charged. The DoorDash menu prices were slightly higher and offered a good discount with $15 minimum purchase, but no weekend specials, just regular menu. I ordered two vegetarian weekend specials in person, paying cash. I ordered the Vegetable Hakka Noodles ($10.99 plus tax) and the Mix Vegetable Moilee ($12.99 plus tax), which was prepared to order and ready in 12 minutes. I actually enjoyed some of the food in the store since there are a few tables in chairs in front of the counter. The noodle dish had soft noodles tossed with carrots, onions, scallions, cabbage, green peppers, and spices. The simmered moilee dish had a mix of peas, carrots, potatoes, peppers, curry, spices, coconut milk. The included side of basmati rice was cooked right and not sticky. Both vegetarian dishes had good flavors, mild spicy taste. I will have to come back to try their dosas and biryani next time.

So we just ordered the lunch menu and ordered a mini buffet for ourselves. Ordered the onion pakora as an appetizer. For some reason I thought it was going to come with some sort of sauce. So it was a little dry. I just ended up dipping it in the malai kofta for more flavor. We ordered 1 veggie, 1 chicken, and 1 lamb lunch combo. Which it came with white rice, soup, and naan or a roti. The veggie option was the malai kofta. (I liked this one the best, bc it was sweet) . It's vegetable cheese dumplings in a cashew sauce. the chicken option was the priya chicken special. (Second best) This was good. It was saucy. and then we got the lamb masala. This one was more on the tomato-sour side. I like more of a creamy sauces. These dishes weren't as spicy. It was just a hint of it. Waiters were really nice and informative about the menu.

The Saag Paneer was also very good and the best part was the paneer pieces were so soft, it is hard to find at most restaurants. Aloo Paratha was meh, the filling was scant and not flavorful The Chili Gobi dry was so flavorful, but they had made it extra extra spicy (I had asked for mild) and I just couldn't eat it much. The goat pepper fry was a big disappointment- the flavors were fine but the goat pieces were terrible. Overall a decent meal.

But finally I did and boy am I happy. Very much a family affair - husband and wife who share maitre'd and server responsibilities. And other relatives in the kitchen cooking up a storm. What first grabbed my attention were the huge number of dosas they offer. Seeing any dosa on a menu at all is a rarity and so to see the wide variety they feature was amazing. I opted for the Andhra Kara Masala and it was excellent. The dosa itself crispy and warm and the condiments beautifully integrated. We opted for the mixed veggie pakoras as an appetizer on the recommendation of the owner and they were served warm and crispy. The batter was light - nothing like the thick sludge that usually adorns the deep fried nuggets of vegetable delight. The accompanying tamarind sauce was sweet and clean and the mint-cilantro suitably refreshing. Lovey got garlic naan and saag paneer. Smooth and creamy, the saag was exactly as hoped for and the garlic naan was chewy, warm and toothsome. Dessert was carrot halwa. Hard to believe carrots make such an excellent warm dessert but they do. Richly satisfying with just the right touch of sweetness. We look forward to returning and sampling the rest of the menu!
