Hubba's is the real deal. Amazing barbecue and the best in the area. In the past six months, I've been Hard 8 in Dallas, Home Team & Lewis' in Charleston, SC and Terry Blacks in Austin known for brisket. I'm going to be controversial and say this is better than Terry Blacks! The Texas brisket was beautifully smoked with a little bit of char on the outside and incredibly moist inside and so tender. This is simply world class barbecue. Hubba's is consistent. I've been there several times and I've enjoyed the ribs, the chicken and the very well crafted pulled pork. The sides are wonderful. The baked beans are some of the best I've had anywhere. The coleslaw is authentic and fresh. The team at Hubba's is awesome. Friendly and helpful. Sometimes it gets a little busy, but sit back listen to the blues that are playing. Find a seat at a picnic table nearby and enjoy the experience. If I could eat there every day, I would. Dropped in for lunch as i have wanted to go to this place for a while. Out back of a florist, the picnic tables in the shade are inviting. I ordered up a pulled pork sandwich and a side of slaw. The sandwhich had a nice flavor for the pork but was dry to eat. Pulled pork need s to be moist. The coleslaw was meh. I'm relatively new in town and just discovered Hubba's 2 weeks ago but I've already been back twice. The pulled chicken is really good but man, the brisket and pulled pork are quite simply "The Sh*t"! These guys are very personable and it's obvious they take a lot of pride in what they do. I went to Hubba's today for lunch and was the first person in line when they opened at 11:00. The owner was just bringing in the meat from the smoker when I drove in- so I knew I was in for a treat! I got the Texas brisket sandwich ($12.00) which came with 1 side ( I chose beans). The sandwich was filled with 4 thick cut brisket slices on a plain hamburg roll. I added my own sauce. The meat was tender and had a good amount of smoke flavor. A bit dry. A meat lovers dream. The small cup of beans were also good. Not great. Good lunch but the price was a bit much. Pretty Darn Good! Ribs didn't quite fall off the bone but the flavor and whatever they use for a rub is delicious! Brisket was nice and tender. Not as much of a seasoning as I would like but still enough to get a gracious nod from any brisket enthusiast. Pulled pork had a great citrusy Smokey almost broth to it. Not entirely sure if it was the pork or brisket but there were a few super over cooked pieces hiding in the pork. I thought they were burnt bones at first. Something tells me that's not a common ordeal. Sauces are really good! I like that I could see the spices but n the sauce, instead of just a flat molasses. Makes it seem more homemade and real. Sweet sauce is almost a sweet and sour orange glaze but I loved it, especially over the pulled chicken. Coleslaw is actually really good. It's got that fresh veggie taste to it, unlike the stuff that's been sitting in a tub for a week covered in mayo and pickle juice. They make their beans with bits of their brisket. It's actually a great flavor. Beans are a tough thing to judge, there's no real standard just so long as they're cooked and the gravy is sweet. But these are good. Cornbread is a little different. Hardly any sweetness, very dry, not really any flavor, kinda doughy when it gets in your mouth. But at the same time it tastes real, if that makes any sense. It's got a grittiness to it that makes it taste like something you'd expect a hearth side cooking class might make. So it's ... appreciated but nothing I would call great corn bread. For all I know maybe that's what real cornbread is supposed to be. Hubba's right now is a food truck in the back of a parking lot for a florist shop. Parking lot is not big enough to accommodate the demand, and there isn't really a way to turn around. I would suggest pulling into the industrial complex road near the chili's and driving way around the back in the big open lot. There they have some tables set up but your waking to the food truck from behind it. read more

I'm from the south and this is southern BBQ! I've had the pulled pork plattah, brisket sammich and brisket plattah before. Today I got the brisket sammich with Cole slaw on the sammich with a side of baked beans. I sometimes put the baked beans on the sammich and eat it with a fork and knife. I work right around the corner and it's so nice to walk to a food truck, have a great meal, and the service be good because they are so nice! Highly recommend, I just wish the food truck wasn't just open during May-end of September and longer. read more

I was working in Westford today and went out for lunch, was so excited when I saw the sign for a BBQ truck. These side of the road BBQ trucks are always the best. Unfortunately this is not one of them. What a huge letdown. Brisket sandwich with 1 side was $12. Look at the picture and judge for yourself on the size of that "side", that's the type of little container that you use to put sauces or catchup in. It should not be the size of a side. Although it didn't matter because I took 1 fork full and realized that there was nothing on it just some shredded cabbage, lettuce & carrots, absolutely nothing on it literally whatsoever. That blandness seems to be the theme here. The brisket was clearly not fresh and it was clearly not smoked it was extremely soggy and you literally could not even pick up one slice as it immediately fell and broke apart, my guess is that it was reheated over and over which made it loose and soggy, and it has absolutely no flavor whatsoever. I got 3 ribs for an additional nine dollars and I ate one and threw the other two in the trash. Again I looked for smoke flavor and found absolutely none whatsoever. It didn't dawn on me that the gigantic smoker they have sitting in the parking lot was not on at all. I looked inside the trailer where they prepare everything and saw one very small stand up electric smoker, but I don't think it was working because again I did not see any smoke coming from anywhere and it didn't look as though meat was being cooked - it looked like meat was being heated up. I literally have baked ribs in my oven that had so much more flavor than these. They call them "dry rub ribs", but there was no sign of a rub on them at all, just a char on the outside, they look nice with that char but again had zero flavor and they were just regular pork ribs, no baby back's, no St. Louis ribs, just regular pork ribs that you get in your local grocery store. I work all over the state and I always find local barbecue places and I always try them, and rarely do I find one that is good. However this is hands-down the worst I have ever had. I would not recommend it and I definitely would not return. read more

Had a lot of Hope for this food truck. Everything seemed to be pointing to the positive. Ordered lunch for the company and was let down by many of the options The ribs were very dry and did not appear to have any sort of rub on them. They did not even remove the silverskin from the back of the rack before cooking them. Super chewy and not a good experience. The rib sandwich is literally three bone-in ribs between two buns. What the heck is that? Do they have rolls they just need to get rid of? You have to debone the ribs to construct your sandwich but after that what's the point of eating a sandwich? Just eat the darn ribs. No sauce or toppings at all offered on the rib sandwich either. The pulled pork was passable but a distinct lack of bark was a letdown. That's the best part! Kind of makes me wonder if they use an electric smoker. The coleslaw was passable but not special. The beans were the best part. I would go back there and buy a crock pot full of beans. Tender, sweet, Savory. Perfect, perfect, perfect baked beans. I did not try the brisket so maybe that is their Holy Grail. We'll try that next time The sauces are lackluster. Only offering is a carolina-style vinegar sauce in either regular or sweet variety. Why not any St Louis or texas-style sauces? For the prices they charge I would have expected significantly better then what we got. We'll give them one more try but I am not very hopeful. read more

Hubba's is amazing BBQ. He has been smoking food for a long time and the flavor is just amazing. His sauce is also something I savor. I get a quart at the end of the season to add to my food all winter. Occasionally the wait is longer than I would get from a fast food restaurant, but it's worth the wait. I really want to love this place because it's so close to my house, but am struggling. I was here last weekend and they had run out of meat. The owner, Bubba, gave us some free beans and Cole slaw for our trouble, which was very nice and appreciated, but it was still quite a letdown. We tried again this weekend, even getting there at 11.30 to ensure we got some meat this time around. But again, disappointment. When we arrived we were told that they had just taken a large catering order of brisket and didn't have any. At this point I had spent 2 weeks looking forward to this brisket and was again let down. Was not overly blown away by this place. It is only a few minutes down the road from me and I would not go back. Got both the brisket and pulled something sandwhich to try multiple things. Did not find the meat to be overly flavorful, particularly the brisket which I thought was just not appealing. Wife and I did not finish brisket and split the sandwich, which was better. I'm probably spoiled because I eat at Lester's in Burlington regularly which is a 5/5 and always rocks. Real rating is probably about a 2.5 here. I drove by today and saw the sign on 110, so on my way back through Westford I stopped and ordered some lunch. I got a 1/2 pint each of the brisket and the cole slaw with a container of BBQ sauce. I had some dental work earlier in the morning so I was still a bit numbed up but the food smelled so good as I drive to work I couldn't wait until I could feel my face. The brisket was delicious. A little tough, but see comment about dental work. It may just have been me. I loved the cole slaw. It was dressed well and not dripping in mayonnaise like some cole slaws can be. The vegetables were super crunchy too. I am not typically a BBQ sauce fan, but because the woman at the truck recommended it, I did take some with me. She was so right. It was wonderful on the meat. They are parked in a little parking lot in between Nixon and South Chelmsford Road on the westbound side of 110, where a new coffee place opened (I don't recall the name). The coffee place has outdoor seating under a pretty pergola. Not sure if Hubba's customers can use the seating. The woman who I spoke with was super friendly and the food was fantastic. As the name implies, this is the real deal. I had a brisket sandwich which was made with a generous amount of brisket and accompanied by obviously home made sauce. Sandwiches come with a choice of baked beans(homemade), cole slaw or corn bread. The smoker is right next to the food trailer. My wife and I saw a piece on Hubba's on the Chronicle TV show. Both of us being big on smoked BBQ decided to take a drive and check it out for ourselves. We definitly were not disappointed. Great Q! Hadn't had a good briskett in a while, and Hubba's was amazing! Also, while we were there, my wife noticed that Hubba offers a full day BBQ/Smoker class, which included a full bbq lunch. Since I was interested in learning to do some serious backyard smoking myself, I signed up. It was great to pick the brains of a true pit master, went away would tons of useful information to get me started with, had a great lunch, and, I got to take home the two racks of ribs which I made as part of the class (my family loved them). Go here! We arrived just after closing. The kind owner said he d serve us despite the hour,but he ran out of food. We did not have a problem with that as it tells you he buys and serves the same day-FRESH FOOD is his priority. I said we would happily come back later next week BEFORE closing time. He said he didn t want to let my daughter and I go home empty handed, and gave us a container of beans to go home. We both agreed...BEST BEANS EVER! He is located behind a red barn looking structure on rt 110 in Westford, just northeast of and on the opposite side of the road of the big Whole Foods plaza. We ll be back! The beef brisket is the best for miles around--juicy instead of dry, just spicy enough, and not expensive (for what it is--expensive meat!) The beans, too, taste sweet and homemade. I haven't tried the chicken, but the pulled pork and ribs are also great. Some places lay on so much smoke, it tastes as though the food was dragged through an ash tray. Hubba's is just right. Serve it at your next barbecue and save yourself hours of standing over a hot grill! read more

Had the brisket sandwich today. Rarely have I had BBQ where you don't need sauce. But in this case the sammich was so moist and flavorful: hold the sauce. Not that the sauce is bad. It was a unique vinegar based sauce. Very good, not too sweet like a lot of northern BBQ places try to pass off. Also, in a lot of cases the briskets sandwich is burnt ends or a few meager slices. However at Hubba's it's a couple of healthy, full, thick slices. The baked beans were also very good. You can tell they were cooked for a good long time. My only suggestion is slightly bigger sides. read more
