    chicken tikka masala

I came here for lunch on a workday, and the place was quiet, which after the hectic day I was having, I appreciated so much. The peaceful atmosphere made it a perfect midday break. The menu is extensive with plenty of variety (they also offer a buffet on weekends). We were greeted with a complimentary fried sweet potato appetizer while we waited for our meal, which was a nice touch. We all ordered the Mild Chicken Tikka Masala with rice and two sides of naan, one regular, one garlic. The portions were generous, enough to fill us up and still have leftovers for dinner. The naan was delicious, fresh, soft, and gooey. To top it off, we were treated to a mango smoothie-style drink at the end, which was refreshing and sweet. Nice dessert-ish. The service was excellent, our server was friendly, attentive, and the food came out quickly. Overall, a great experience and I'll definitely be back!!!

Upgraded the garlic naan for a buck. Well worth it. $17.99 for a lunch special. Always delicious and relaxing atmosphere!

Ordered takeaway from here for the first time. Hubby and I ordered the chili paneer, the chili chicken, and the Peshawari naan. Total came out to around $45 (without tip). What's Hot - Menu variety. Pretty good variety and there seems to be something for everyone- meats, vegetarians, vegan, and desserts. - Quality. The chili chicken was delicious. The chicken was nice and tender. The peshwari naan was tasty, as well. You could taste the slight sweetness, especially the coconut. My chili paneer had a decent amount of other veggies, like bell peppers and onions, which added to the flavor. - Portions. Pretty good size portions. The rice was in a large Chinese takeaway container, which was helpful for my husband and I to share. We also appreciated that it wasn't already with our dishes, because the rice would get soggy. Good size portions to get you full, as well. - Service. We ordered through Uber Eats before the restaurant was opened. Our food was made within a timely manner, which was helpful. They appear to communicate well with Uber Eats, because we received timely notifications when our food was ready. When we arrived for pickup, our order was ready in a bag by the front register. I confirmed the name for our takeaway order and the waiter was ready. - Spice. In our order, we asked that they make the food spicy, which it was. It was a good level of spice for me, but not for my husband, which I address below. What's Not - Dry paneer. Although the flavor of my chili paneer was good, the paneer was dry and not as cheesy/moist. - Spice. Hubby couldn't really taste the spice level very much. To be fair, he has a high tolerance, so I only add this to make people aware. If you have a high spice tolerance and you like your food really spicy, be aware that it may not be enough for you. - Price. For a dinner for 2 to be almost $50 is kind of pricey. To be fair, they have decent size portions, but be aware that if you are hungry and/or want to try extra dishes, be ready for the tab to add up pretty quickly. - Takeaway containers. Our food wasn't labeled, which was a little frustrating, because it was a bit difficult to tell exactly which dish was which. Given that takeaway orders are the norm right now, I always appreciate it when restaurants label the takeaway container with which dishes are which. It helps avoid confusion, especially when you're sharing dishes and/or if anyone has dietary restrictions/allergies. - Health and safety. The waiter who assisted us in picking up our order was not wearing a mask. During this time of the pandemic, when health and safety regulations are continually fluctuating, I get that it can be uncertain. However, I appreciate it when I see restaurants taking extra precautions wearing masks, gloves, whatever in ensuring the health and safety of others. Final Answer Willing to come back, but may not be the first choice for Indian food.

This restaurant used to be half decent. Now it is just awful. We got their chicken tandoori and paneer tikka yesterday, hard as rock and dry. Clearly, the chicken was not freshly baked. Paneer was overdone and dry. I also saw their manager Kishan yelling at a lady who was collecting her takeout and was asking questions. Not acceptable. We are not going back.

Chicken Tikka Masala, Lamb Vindaloo, Rice Pudding, Garlic Naan, rice, some delicious veggie things... $20

Excellent food, reasonably priced, good service, chill ambiance (no loud music). I just had a plate of chicken, lamb, veggies, rice pudding, garlic naan for $20

We were welcomed warmly and seated, then ordered Nimbu soda ($9 each) while we caught up on life. We decided to share a vegetarian meal family style (she is my cousin, after all!) and ordered roomali roti ($9), dal makhani ($15), and a fusion dish called paneer da anda masala ($25), which was strongly recommended by our server. Food arrived quickly and was a feast to both our eyes and palate! We polished it off - especially enjoying the unusual paneer entrée. I was in the mood for dessert as we were chatting happily and I wanted to linger a bit longer. The server steered us right again - towards Rajastani ghevar ($11) - a honeycomb disc with ghee, Rabdi, and pistachio. It was divine! Total bill after tax and tip was $111. Happy to return.

The ambiance sets the tone as soon as you walk in, vibrant decor with a stylish bar. The service is consistently excellent. The menu is where Tashan really shines. They take familiar Indian flavors and elevate them with a creative twist. The Punjabi staples like chole, chicken tikka, and daal makhni are done exceptionally well, striking that perfect balance between authenticity and refinement. The cocktail menu deserves a special mention. The aam mojito was refreshing and vibrant with mango and mint; the sharabi samundar was tropical and fun. For dessert, the Rajasthani Ghevar was a highlight; it was honeycomb-textured, and perfectly paired with a rich rabdi and pistachios. Tashan delivers a polished, yet approachable, take on modern Indian cuisine. Highly recommend!

Indian is one of my favorites and this was a fairly short drive from our hotel in Waltham. We made a reservation but that did not seem to be at all necessary. It was a Monday night and it was not particularly busy. We were seated right away. They featured a very pleasant dining room and we were able to secure a table by the front window. This was a great spot and added to our experience. The service was very good. We were attended to quickly and well cared for throughout our time there. The food came out in a timely manner well presented at the appropriate temperature. My colleague opted for the Creamy Coconut Chicken. I tried a bite of this and was favorably impressed. In addition, he had a Mango Lassi to which he also gave a thumbs-up. I had the Fish Curry, which I ordered at a medium level in terms of spice. It was very tasty as it had just the right amount of kick. He ordered the Garlic Naan to accompany his meal while I had my favorite type of Indian bread (my favorite type of bread period, really) Peshwari Naan. We were both happy with these choices. I also had a glass of cabernet which turned out to be a decent choice. Our final bill that included food, drinks, tax and tip was $86. At $43 per person in this inflationary time, I was happy enough with the value given the quality of the fare and the overall experience. I would be happy to make a return visit.

I almost always sit at the bar and order the Mixed Tandoori Grill because it has consistently been generous, well-prepared, and worth the price. Unfortunately, my experience tonight was incredibly disappointing. The service at the bar was poor. Although there were other guests there--many of whom appeared to be regulars--the bartender spent most of his time chatting with them and largely ignored me. I had to ask three separate times before I finally received service. When my meal arrived, it was nowhere near the quality or portion I have come to expect. The Mixed Grill, which has always included generous portions of lamb, chicken, and shrimp, consisted almost entirely of chicken, with only about two small pieces of lamb and a single shrimp. It was a dramatic difference from what has been served for years. I politely mentioned this to the bartender, and his response was simply, "Tough times, less food." I found that response both dismissive and disappointing. If portions have been reduced, customers should not be paying the same premium prices without any acknowledgment. After years of consistently great meals, this was genuinely sad to experience. Spending nearly $75 on a meal that felt significantly diminished in both quality and value is hard to justify. Because of my long history with this restaurant, I may give it one more chance, but based on this visit, I cannot recommend it. It was a very disappointing experience from both a service and food standpoint.

One day, while I was in Salem, New Hampshire, I discovered Kashmir Indian Cuisine, and it turned out to be one of the best dining experiences I've ever had. I visited the restaurant with a group of friends, and we thoroughly enjoyed the tandoori specialties. The Chicken Tikka, Chicken Seekh Kabab, Tandoori Chicken, Garlic Naan, and Tandoori Roti were all cooked to perfection. We also tried the Haddock Pakora as an appetizer, which was absolutely delicious. Other favorites included the Chicken Saag, Chicken Tikka Masala, and Aloo Gobi. Every dish was fresh, flavorful, and prepared with authentic North Indian spices. What made the experience even more enjoyable was the warm hospitality. The owner and the entire staff were incredibly friendly, attentive, and genuinely cared about making every guest feel welcome. I was so impressed that I later hired Kashmir Indian Cuisine to cater my daughter's engagement celebration. The food was exceptional, and every guest complimented the quality, taste, and beautiful presentation. Their catering helped make our special occasion even more memorable. If you truly enjoy authentic North Indian cuisine, I highly recommend giving Kashmir Indian Cuisine a try. Make the drive just once, and I'm confident you'll enjoy the experience as much as I did. My family and I was craving Indian food today and one of our Indian friends recommended this (new…read moreto us) place in Watertown (near/behind the Lexus dealership). It was convenient to get to with plenty of parking up front. Its about 5 minutes from Arsenal Yards. The restaurant looks pretty modern and trendy, with several tables on the side for dining in. I was promptly greeted upon entry with a smile. Picking up my takeout order was easy and quick. Food was packaged well and secure - important for this cuisine as you don't want to lose any of the sauces! The food portions are really good and pricing is pretty reasonable given the times, and pricing of similar restaurants in the area. More importantly, the quality and tastes of the food was exquisite! Good Indian food takes time and care in preparation to ensure the flavors are balanced with properly prepared ingredients. The texture of the meats and veggies were spot-on, with great balance in flavor. It wasn't overbearing and I think their flavors are flexible enough to cater to most palates. The chicken 65 was surprisingly not soggy, given this was take out. The butter chicken was so creamy with generous chicken pieces that were tender but not falling apart. The chicken tikka had great flavors and similarly well prepared chicken pieces. The garlic naan was actually flavorful, and is very evidently crafted onsite vs mass produced. The chicken biriyani was probably the standout dish. It was prepared with fluffy basmati rice with a great blend of spices (and color) and tender chicken pieces. I liked that the onions for some of the dishes were large cut and easily removed, as not everyone in the family likes onions. The only critique for the place is that there were no paper menus for old heads like myself that still prefers to look over it prior to ordering. Luckily, the online ordering experience was simple and straight forward. I created a Toast account in the process and hope it will be even easier going forward. You can even specify the spice level for most dishes. Overall, Chennai Eats is a wonderful addition to the local community. The place is clean, the food is tasty and a family could get full and happy without breaking the bank. I look forward to trying this place again, and exploring some of their other offerings. I'm also glad to have found a closer alternative to quality Indian food, vs going all the way out to Godavari.
