Writing this several months from the day I ate here. Sorry. The hostess/cashier is a very sweet girl. She wants to make sure you are happy and satisfied. For $16 the buffet is well worth it. They bring bread, naan, whatever is being served that day to the table nice and hot. A small bottle of water was provided. The day I went they had vegetables, white rice, butter chicken, tandoori chicken, curry chicken, and a pork dish. Salad comes with a yogurt dressing which I do not like. At the time they did not have a variety of salad dressing. The dahl was delicious. My daughter is a picky eater and said it was just okay. I thought for the price they had a very nice selection. The inside of the restaurant is plain. Nothing fancy, but I am there for the food. I hope to visit again when I come back in November. read more

Tasty food. All you can eat buffet for $15. I thought were was 25 dishes but I guess it's a random selection of 25 different options. There was about 10-15 things when we went. Everything was delicious but my favorite was the naan. They did bring out more when we finished it but man I could have eaten so much more of that than was provided. I don't have a lot of experience with Indian food but I was glad to try new things I hadn't tried yet. I was sad there wasn't samosas when we went. Would have preferred that over the spring rolls. I also tried the masala chai and it was very flavorful. The place is pretty small and seemingly already popular. There wasn't really any tables available when we first walked it but one was cleared right away. If the mixed curd is there and you're not sure what it is I recommend eating it over rice. It reminded me of a tzatziki and I tried it last, had to go back for more rice and the pakora. That and the pakora were my next favorite things. I've been waiting for this place to open. So we I heard that they opened I went there for lunch that same day. I heard about their $15 lunch buffet but they also have a great lunch special which is two curries, Naan bread, rice, and a drink for only $10 (take out only). I really hope they keep the lunch special. The service was chill because I went during lunch and you serve yourself. The employee explained everything and that they will give you the Naan bread and the salad. I used to come here when it was Carlito's Chicken. The new owners have done so much and the ambiance is so nice. My food was delicious!!!!!! I couldn't believe the value for my lunch because you really can't get much for $10 these days. Oceanside now has a new Indian food restaurant and it's located inland. These are my experiences for Tandoori Corner. Tandoori Corner is located on Mission Ave, just behind Yum Yum Donuts, where Carlito's Chicken used to be. While this business can't really be considered a "hole in the wall", it is definitely located within an area that is not often traveled by many. The businesses that thrive in this area are the ones that have connected with local community patrons and do not rely on tourist dollars to survive. Tandoori Corner is 2 blocks away from the 76 highway and just off of Mission Ave and this makes it very easily accessible. In addition, just across the way in the 76 Hwy, is the future construction site of Oceanside's first Mega Surf Waterpark. Once complete, this tourist destination will draw attention to all surrounding businesses and this will be good for that area's economy. The only downside is that 3 blocks away, is Brother Benno's (a homeless outreach center), so once you drive in that area, it appears kinda sketchy. But on my 3 visits here, I've never seen an issue with vagrants or felt unsafe in the area. Tandoori Corner is family-owned and specializes in good Indian food at phenomenal pricing. They are the only Indian restaurant in Oceanside that has a Lunch All-You-Can-Eat Buffet with over 25 dishes on rotation for $15. This Lunch Special is from 11:00am to 3:30pm, 7 days a week. There's also a LUNCH COMBO for $10 where you can pack your TO-GO container and grab a drink. It's really such a great deal for those in the area. I've been here 3 times to attend their buffet and I've enjoyed all my dishes ranging from: curry chicken, curry lamb, butter chicken, chicken tikka masala, dal makhani, paneer pakora, aloo tikka, chicken karahi, samosas and my favorite gulab jamun (sweet pastry balls). To order, simply walk-in, order at the counter, fill your plate and then enjoy your meal. They also have mango lassi and an assortment of other beverages to enjoy and their menu is growing. After 3:30pm buffet has ended, then you can enjoy dine-in table service. Their service is very attentive & friendly. The interior decor for Tandoori Corner is nice and leans into a modern approach to Indian culture. I like when they have the cultural music playing too. The table arrangements are good for families and groups, with a few spots for couples dining-in. The establishment is clean overall, but I did have to remind them to do bathroom checks, as they had ran out of toilet paper one time. I know that they have just opened and they are working out the kinks in operations. But I can say, that if they can maintain the quality of their food at this level AND keep the prices this low, I believe that Tandoori Corner will do well in Oceanside, especially in our current economy. read more

I walked in at 3:15 to order for the buffet. Completely closed down and cleaned up . I asked why do you have a sign that says buffet open til 3:30 . why don't you take down the false advertising sign ? She looked back like , "no my problem ; i only work here " she looked back like the management was hiding behind the door and could hear what i was saying but too cowardly to explain why they would continue to advertise what they no longer have. Beat chicken I've ever had! The Tandoori chicken is sooo delicious I can't even put into words!! I crave it all the time and now eat it at least once or twice a week. Everything I have tried I delicious but I don't need much more than my tandoori chicken mild. I always order out since I work through dinner time and it comes una container packed with at least 6 pieces of the best tasting chicken and so soft come right off the bone with some onions peppers and other sautéed veggies around it. Give me some butter naan and I'm the happiest! Employees there are great. Super personable and very helpful. I love it there and I will continue to eat there as often as I can. I'll start the review by saying I'm Indian, so I know good Indian food. I found this place to be just okay. We ordered the lamb biryani, butter chicken (husband's request, not mine), and saag paneer. Everything had very mild flavours, not the robust explosion you expect in your mouth when eating Indian food. There was no option to pick the spice level, so there was absolutely no spice in any of the dishes. Lamb in the biryani was very tough and not tender at all. Went for the weekend buffet and who could beat the price or flavor! Upon coming in the place was pretty much empty and the food was running low. When we served ourselves for the buffet the food was already cold (buffet started at 11am and we came in at about 1:45pm). When asking the server about heating up the food she gladly offered to heat it up for us. The server also let us know of there was any dish we wanted more of they would gladly make more. The food was delicious especially the 2 rice options, chicken curry, and of course the chicken tikki masala. The samosas were delicious as well. I went in on 3 plates, and also who could forget the delicious garlic naan bread! The only reason im not giving a 5 is because although the server was accommodating and she wasnt very quick especially considering the place was empty.
