Has been my favorite restaurant for the last 10+ years. It's the only place I want to go for my birthday every year. So absolutely delicious. Dining in is always a pleasant experience. Kind and efficient staff. Beautiful and clean restaurant. Take out is just as delicious. Food is packed in sturdy containers and is just as tasty at home as when you dine in. We usually order Chicken Tikka Masala with garlic naan and rice. However, I've tried a handful of dishes and every single one is yummy. You can't go wrong with Curry & More in San Marcos. read more

We did not like the food here. I've been to the Curry and More in Oceanside, which I thought was decent. So we decided to try this location. It definitely has a more Indian restaurant feel to it than the Oceanside location so I had higher hopes. We ordered the Frontier Boti Kebab as it was publicized as their "signature", the coconut chicken curry with a side of jeera aloo and daal and a garlic and basil naan and plain naan. The signature was not good. As an Indian, I'm used to kebabs being chicken or lamb based, which means that the meat is more tender. A kebab also has smaller pieces. The beef was not tender, in fact, it was very chewy. The marinated spices were kind of non-existent on the beef itself. They were just on the plate and on the veggies, which were delicious tasting by the way. The coconut chicken was decent. The jeera aloo side was the best of the lot, which says a lot about what we thought of the main entrees. The daal was bland. I think the worst offender however, was the garlic and basil naan. When you think garlic and basil naan, you want to see garlic piece, basil leaves and butter. This naan had garlic powder (blasphemy!), dried basil and zero butter. It was on the harder side and just not good. I love my garlic naans. The more garlic, the better! This one ranks as one of the worst naans I have eaten. We will not return as we expected more from this visit than what we ultimately got. read more

Parking was easy and we were immediately greeted and seated when we arrived. I ordered the Chicken Vindaloo. It came with two sides. I picked rice and potatoes. The dish came with potatoes already so I ended up with a lot of potatoes. I wish I had gone with the pita bread but luckily my husband shared his pita bread with me. Food was good service need little more improvement cause nobody checked on us if we were okay or how's everything. So 18% tip is appropriate. If I new that I can't get printed receipt I would tip 15% or less when owner or maybe manager told me that they don't print receipt cause some kind of extortion and proposition 65 I did not argue and just said thank you and left. I must look really stupid or maybe he thought I am, but I know that I'll never come back to eat there again. Why would I have to give up my email or phone number to have receipt? Just print it out! I came here recently with some family after driving by it numerous times and it was good but not necessarily my favorite. I'm not the biggest Indian cuisine person but I am always up to try new things! We ordered a bunch of different dishes to share and my goodness was it a lot of food. We all went home with multiple boxes of leftovers. It was a quiet Sunday and the restaurant wasn't very busy so the service was quick and the space was super clean. For some reason I thought this was a fast food Indian restaurant but it was a sit down. It's not fancy, more casual joint. We ordered the goan vindaloo (lamb) and the chicken tikka masala with nan and some rice. I ordered level spice 7, which to my surprise wasn't spicy at all. I think it was a San Marcos spicy. Next time going up to a level 8 or 9. It was still really good and had a ton of flavors. Big chunks of lamb, and good for soaking nan in the flavorful sauce. The chicken tikka masala was also very good as well. The sauce for both were very flavorful! We'll definitely be back here. read more

Stopped in on a whim for lunch by myself and really enjoyed it! The Great - The food and the presentation was excellent. The Good - Spot seemed clean throughout! The Bad - The gentleman working the front didn't offer a warm reception to me or anyone who came after. But that wasn't really a deal breaker or anything. The Ugly - na This was a nice place to have lunch. I had ordered Uber Eats from them before and wasn't really impressed, so wasn't in a hurry to try them. But, I gave 'em a try and was not disappointed! The food was really good. I had Malai Kofta and it seemed skimpy in quantity, but it was so rich and filling, I didn't need more. I don't usually write a review on the first time I go to a place. Usually I gage it on multiple visits beforehand. We dined in and were seated right away. We ordered with ease. Husband asked how was the stout the server didn't describe any features about it just said "it's good". That gave us a chuckle. The server poured it tableside into a chilled glass for him. That was nice & the hubs thought it was "good"... as described. I got the coconut curry with Daal and Plain Naan. The naan came to the table first and with a perfect temperature and texture. My daal wasn't as warm but tasted very good and my curry was nice and steamy. It was nice and clean and you can even peep the happenings, in the kitchen, behind the glass. That's kinda fun. I kept looking up from my table and then the kitchen staffers spotted me watching the preparations lol. I shared my daal and my hubby shared his rice with me. So our combined sides and naan were perfectly filling. I saved room for a sweet desert nearby. So I had some curry leftover... yay! I probably would've finished it there otherwise. My Mango Lassi was nice and smooth and tasty, not too tangy or sweet, and also filling. Even if I get mild spice....the spices always like to clear my sinuses. So the lassi helps to tame it down a bit. After eating the elevator music was so calming I felt very sleepy. I didn't mind it before eating. I did like the relaxed vibe this place had. We came super casual and we spotted others more dressed up. In suit and tie etc. Which was nice to see. It's almost white table cloth worthy. All staffers who helped us were very friendly. Most watery curry we've ever had. It's more like soup, a watered down gumbo or jambalaya. I've been to Mumbai and have had Indian food from all over, this is the first time I didn't want to finish my meal. Haven't been here in a while, just a bit of a drive from Escondido. Just as good as I remember, good portions and lots of sides. I'm going to taste my way through the vegetarian appetizers, tonight was the behl poori chaat. Super fresh with tomatoes, herbs and I think tiny diced cucumber, and lots of little crunchier like puffed rice and lentils. Split the mushroom and peas with naan and rice on the side- enough for two people with the appetizer no problem. Good, but not great. I've had better authentic Indian food before, this place in my opinion is more Americanized because the chefs weren't Indian and the food lacked in flavor. Great menu, lots of options and they offer 1-10 for spicy. Pass on the calamari it was very soggy and tough to chew, the batter was delicious though and so were the sauces that came with it. Food came out within minutes, so it's all already made and just heated up. Which made sense because the daal was cold. Chicken tikka masala was bland and the chicken was tough, I've definitely had better. The saag paneer on the other hand was excellent and the cheese just melted in my mouth. Very good! The potatoes and daal were both outstanding and flavorful as well. The garlic naan had no flavor either which was disappointing. Service was odd. We ordered 4 garlic naans when she read our order back she only put in 1, we had to correct her. Afterwards the chef came out to triple check our order, and said 3 garlic naans. No, we ordered 4. It seemed as if they were surprised at how much food we wanted, which was a bit rude. Overall this was a decent meal, not the best I've had but it wasn't terrible. I have been doing business with this place ever since I can remember. I've tried the Chicken Tikka Masala very mild, Coconut Chicken (this one has a bit of a kick to it) , Tandoori Chicken very mild. Another one that I tried was Mixed Seafood Curry very mild. These I mentioned are all lunch and dinner entrees. I also tried an appetizer called the Fish Amritsari and that was delicious. It dissolves in your mouth like cotton candy. This is an appetizer. I should also let you know that you can request a spicy level of your own up to 10. They have a Mango Lassi which is really good. I have tried all of their desserts and they are to die for. However, if you are allergic to nuts stay away from the Pista Kulfi (ice cream). But everything else is really great. I even like the Garlic Naan bread. Please find it in your heart to give this place a try. I have two waiters that always wait on me, their names are Gibran and Alexander. I'm still looking to build up my list of go to restaurants and I'm happy to say I found a good authentic Indian place. This one caters to both the American and z Indian pallate. You can find your go to Tendori chicken, garlic naan, and butter chicken and if you're looking for a more adventurous meal get the Rogan Josh with goat or shrimp in many of the dishes. The veggie places like the corma was good as well. It was on the non spicy side, so if you like it spicy you may have to ask for it... and they are happy to oblige a variety of pallets. read more

I was really looking forward to checking this place out with some friends. When I arrived an older guy "greeted me" who worked there. I told him I was going to meet my friends and he wanted to know how many, luckily I saw them out the corner of my eye. He did not seem that warm or welcoming, at all. Luckily, a younger male waiter helped us out and he seemed pretty nice. He shared his recommendation with us and I got it. It was something I never tried before but it has cashew sauce and almonds with chicken. It was really good and I am glad I took his recommendation. We were torn about what sides to get and ended up ordering extra Nan. One lady I was dining with, ordered the same thing as me but with no spice. We wondered if they mixed up our dishes because it would be easy to do. We did a taste test to figure it out but could not. We also had a unique appetizer that needed up being free. My friend had a birthday that month and signed up for their Loyalty Club so she had the free appetizer. I don't recall the name of them samosa or something like that. Different, but good! The waiter did not seem to check on us much which was ok because we didn't really need much. I had the feeling they wanted us out after we were done eating. My family drove an hour to try this place because Google said they closed at 9 PM. When we arrived at 8:30, they saw us coming and turned off the open sign. We went in, asking for takeout, but they told us they were closed. When I mentioned Google said 9 PM, they insisted they close at 8:30. It was really disappointing, especially since my sister was excited to try it. We'll definitely look for Indian food somewhere else because the service was not great. read more
