Wonderful place, I've been here on numerous occasions with family and friends! Delicious food (and I mean literally the best Indian food in Indy, I've tried them all since I'm Indian!) and you always get great service with a smile. I love this place and I'm going to go here as long as I live in Indy, so let's please take the next section more as a loving suggestion. Two things that stopped me from giving it 5 stars: 1) the place is a little shambly, fancy prices and food that's tasty, but if you're charging $11-$14 per dish please let's get rid of the cheap plastic flowers on the table and work on the decor a bit more (paper posters taped to the wall? Let's frame that) 2) They don't have a great alcohol selection, a few beers and that's pretty much it. I know most Indian places don't have full bar service, but let's have a couple more beers and at least a few cocktails on the menu. read more

One of few indian restaurants that I think serves authentic indian food. Food was great we ordered garlic naan(love it), spicy seekh kebabs- it is made of ground lamb serve sizzling, I like it but I wish they serve it with a dipping sauce but because we ordered curry goat which we request to be spicy also I dip it in the curry sauce aaaah so good. If you like spicy food you can request it to be spicy and they will not fail you to the kick you looking for. Service is fast and they're nice people they refill our rice and ask if everything is good. Defenitely going back. The only thing is, I wish they wipe the restaurant, its not dirty but its dusty. Was here with my family from Austin (TX) and India. We were about 7 of us and everyone enjoyed the food. The paneer tikka (appetizer) was, I am pretty sure, the best I've had in US. The Garlic naans were fresh. The channa masala was yum! Loved every bit. The gravy in the Malai kofta could have been thicker. Forgiven this time as the taste was still good. Very friendly staff. This is a new restaurant so that definitely plays into the great quality and taste. Fingers crossed on the same quality and friendly ambience continuing into the future. read more

I ordered delivery and would go back when things open again! I ordered the Chicken Manchurian, which is an Indo Chinese dish. It was delicious!! They were super generous with the meat, but I wish it came with rice and maybe some vegetables mixed in. Everything was perfect. The Chicken was the most tender I've ever had, the naan was perfectly crispy. The only think I can think of to criticize is the water tasted strange, but if you weren't thinking about it you probably wouldn't notice. read more

As a Yelp Elite, I reserve 5 for only the very best places. The Tandoori Flame earns a 5 for delicious, authentic Indian food, with cleanliness in an atmosphere that feels authentic as well. We started with the vegetable samosas which were delicious. We will try the beef next time. For my entree, I had the lamb in a coconut cream sauce with garlic naan. It was so good. I also tried my husband's dish, chicken Korma which was also fantastic. I finished with the ice cream...yummy and unique! We found out that they do a lunch buffet every day. Had the Chicken Mashroom and Chicken Tikka Masala, Garlic Naan, Cheese and Spices Naan, and Beef and Cilantro Naan. Chicken Mashroom was good, but not great. Chicken Tikka tasted different from other ones I've had, too sweet and not thick enough was barely spicy. The Naans were all subpar and barely any flavor, but they definitely made sure to burn them. Less menu items could help, by focusing on enhancing the traditional dishes. Customer service could have been better as well, but it's okay I won't be back. read more

A friend of mine ate there yesterday. We didn't realize they close up at 3:00 to get ready for a 5:00 dinner menu. They let us in as they were closing and fed us. There were some selections left on the buffet and t hey even made us another dish from scratch. It was not even on the menu that day. Even though we got the tail end of the buffet everything was delicious! They were so nice to let us sit there while they were scurrying around getting things ready for the 5:00 dinner crowd. My boyfriend and I decided to give this place a try, and Im happy to say we were very impressed with the selection and quality of the buffet. Many meat dishes (try the goat curry......it's delicious!) as well as vegetarian options. Food was fresh and hot even though we were there towards the end of the buffet lunch period. Lots of tasty chutney (sauces) to accompany the food and even a choice of 3 different desserts! They also deliver a warm naan bread right to your table. So I'm new to Indian food and I've order the same dish at 3 different restaurants and Tabdoori Flame is my favorite so far! I got chicken vindaloo and garlic naan. The chicken was so good and the potatoes melted in my mouth. I received a lot more chicken than I have at other Indian food places. I could've used just a little bit more rice, but that definitely isn't a dealbreaker for me! I had takeout and am looking forward to return and eat in the restaurant! The staff was so nice! Ordered a number of items and was pretty happy. The tandoori chicken was so good, it was flavorful and moist. The goat vindaloo was good. I was expecting it to be very spicy, considering the menu says that it's "hot and spicy sauce". It was decently spicy, but not very spicy. I did not care for the veggie samosa at all. The potato and the peas were mushy and completely over cooked. My boyfriend quite enjoyed the samosa, saying that it was great. The rice kheer was good, but more liquid than I'm used to (think 80% liquid and 20% rice) and there were absolutely no raisins in it, which made me really sad. The cardamom flavor really came through though and that was awesome. The mint chutney was absolutely incredible, and the tamarind was decent. The food gets a solid 3.5, but what made me choose a 3 instead of four is the price. The portions are incredibly small for how much it costs. Two full naan (4 pieces) was $7. That is completely outrageous. I'd eat the tandoori chicken again as it was the best I've had, and I'd be more than happy to eat the goat vindaloo; but otherwise there are much better Indian restaurants in the city that are far less expensive. read more

Avoid at all costs. Service was incredibly slow despite only three other people dining. The worst part was how unsanitary it was. Uneaten food remained on dirty tables nearly the entire time we are there. When they finally got around to cleaning the tables, they didn't even spray them with disinfectant I rarely leave negative reviews, but this place was so gross I had to warn everyone. read more

I feel bad leaving this review, but I gotta be honest. Pros- clean restaurant, attentive and polite staff. Cons- flavorless food. I know it's "north" Indian food and meant for the US palette, but it was just not very tasty. It lacked spice and didn't seem very authentic- looking at you biriyani. We went to a movie and wanted to try out this restaurant. We were not disappointed! The waitstaff was very helpful.
