Unfortunately, I wish the vindaloo sauce was a little bit more flavorful. Our server was very kind and helpful. I think she was a bit shy, and I like to ask servers what they would recommend and she had trouble answering me. Some things maybe needed a little extra TLC the booth I was sitting in had duct tape on it, and it was slightly peeling off. While I've written about here before, I'd like to take a brief moment to make a reminder that everything is still as good; if not even somehow better than before. Last few visits have involved beef samosas, garlic naan, paneer Pakoras, chilly Pakoras, chicken Josh, and butter chicken. I appreciate the varied level of heat offered, depending on my mood. Medium, medium+, and hot have seemed to be on a very solid adjustment scale. For me the butter chicken was best full blown hot. Samosas had a very notable amount of flavor without one thing taking it over. Each of the two sauces brought a nice element too. The chilly Pakoras had a good bite, and went perfect with the batter. I have been here a few times now and I've decided to write a review. I ate here for the lunch buffet. The biryani and naan is basic. Samosas were delicious. The goat curry was scrumptious! The chicken tandoori was perfect. The dessert options were kheer and gulab jamun - not too exciting but okay. The service was decent. This restaurant is the standard Indian-in-America fare - not spicy, catering to the Eurocentric (aka white-people) palette. When you need Indian basics, it will fulfill the need. This spot is a little difficult to find in the dark. It isn't very well lit outside and is kind of off by itself but luckily with google maps you won't be steered wrong and will end up in the parking lot. It is pretty unsuspecting looking from the outside and honestly I was thinking maybe I should have just gone home. There were only 2 other groups in the restaurant at the time of my arrival. I was planning on placing my order to go so when I was greeted I was given a menu and told I could sit at a table to browse and decide what I wanted. It didn't take me long to choose and order a few things. I recently had Indian food in another state and it was amazing so I had pretty high hopes for this place as well. It only took about 10-15 minutes to get my food and I was on my way. Of course I had to open and try everything when I got to my car. I saw another review that said they ordered medium spicy and it really wasn't very spicy so I felt very safe doing the same. I love spicy but some in my family do not so medium it was. I got the beef samosas and while they were laying in a pool of oil they had a pretty decent taste to them. Not overly flavorful but good none the less. I also decided to try the chilly pakoras and wow they were delicious! Super spicy but I'm a fan of spice so I thought they were yummy! I also ordered the butter chicken and it was very flavorful and the chicken was so tender. It was fairly spicy at medium so if you're not a huge spice lover you may want to go with mild. I also got the chicken tandoori and I was amazed at how much food I got for the cost. It was also very very flavorful and absolutely delicious. The bullet naan was good but I think with the spice of the entrees I may have been better off with the butter or garlic naan. Overall the food was delicious and if I'm ever in the area again and have a craving for authentic Indian food I will definitely stop again! read more

Finally we have a good Indian place on the southside! It was bitter sweet seeing something going into the old Steak and Ale building but I'm so glad they're here. I had been meaning to go here before the pandemic and I just never got around to it. I Door Dashed chicken tikka masala and naan. It's so GOOD! The tikka masala packs so much flavor and heat into that gravy! It's so good with depth of flavor and spice; I could drink it by itself. The rice was cooked to perfection, light and fluffy and even better with the luxurious velvety sauce poured over the top. This will be one of the first places I go when it's safe to dine out again. This place just opened, and it is tucked in the large shopping center complex that has Kroger, used books, qdoba, and is behind (or in front of?) the AMC theatre. It's located the closest to the AMC. There's ample parking. First of all, it's a nicely designed restaurant. It is rather brightly lit (many Indian restaurants are rather dim) with a beautiful bar area, tables, and small 2-seater booths. The staff were nice. They asked us when we came in if we have had indian before (lol oh yeah), but this means it is friendly to folks who are not familiar with Indian food. Best part of the meal? THE VEGGIE APPETIZER SAMPLER. Oh my. So good! Around 3 mixed veggies that have been fried (I'd call pakora, but they called it bhajia), 1 aloo tikki (potato fries), 3 paneer pakora (fried cheese), and 2 samosas. THIS WAS SO GOOD. Wow!! The aloo tikki was maybe my fav, but it was all so good. Only $7.99, which is ways cheaper than buying items separately. For entree I got the seekh kabob (lamb) for $16.99.Eh. I want to love it but it was disappointing severely. I said medium spice but there was no warmth, and only occasionally could I really taste the spice. It was REALLY dry. I've had seekh kabob quite a few times, including at places in Lafayette Square and an amazing place in Greenwood. This was just really dry and lacked flavor. It made me sad. But it was still ok - like I still ate it (partly that price!). I got it partly because they said the tandoori items were their specialities, but clearly this is not. I lied to the server and said it was good (eh) and maybe she knew, because she suggested a specific chicken tandoori dish next time. My partner in crime got a channa saag because they haven't seen that before. They said it was okay, but that's also the first time they've had that dish. They ordered it "hot" but it really wasn't. So FYI - that means dishes are not heavily spiced so if you don't like heat, you are in luck. If you do! Well, better tell them. We both got a roti for $1.99. Note that their roti is different from maybe other places - it's been buttered a bit and heated in the oven in such a way that it's a bit harder and inflexible. Some folks like that! I don't; I prefer softer bread so I can use it to pick up my food. Naan is usually too fluffy for that so I prefer the roti (basically a tortilla). There is a lunch buffet 7/days a week from 11am-3pm. There are about 6-8 chicken items and 6 veg items, so that is a huge buffet (this according to the waitress). So, you may be asking - why 4 stars? Honestly, this experience was 3-3.5 stars for the entrees (not terrible but not great). However! The appetizers were so amazing that I really think my friend and I got dishes we shouldn't have had. I am definitely going to go back, and probably for the buffet so I can try a lot at once. read more

Best food i've had in a long time. First tried this place a few months ago, since then we have gone back a dozen times. And that's saying something since we never eat out. I got/always get the Paneer Tikka Masala. It's my favorite and they cook the rice side to perfection. My partner got the Lamb Vindaloo the first time and has since tried both Chicken and Goat Vindaloo. All were great. We always grab an appetizer too: so far we've tried both the Vegetable and Beef Samosas, the Chilly Pakora, and the Bhajia. All were great, Beef Samosa is our favorite. ALSO, you must must must get their naan. Garlic naan has been our favorite so far. It tastes amazing Atmosphere is also pleasant if you eat inside. The music was at a nice level and the tables were all very clean. Waiting staff have always been very friendly and helpful and seem to enjoy being there. This is officially our go to Indian restaurant now. Uniquely sweet flavor to many of their dishes with layers of flavors even if you order mild spice. Hot spiced food is enjoyable as well and has flavor not just heat. Portion sizes are large but it's hard to stop eating as it is so good. Prices are very reasonable. Staff is pleasant and the decor is unique. Many years ago the building was a steak and Ale and still has that decor with an Indian twist. They are also open 7 days a week! We always crave indian on Monday which is when many of the restaurants are closed which is how we came across this one. They are closed after lunch but reopen at 4:30pm. I heard about this in the hot and new section of yelp, and I was finally on the southside of Indy and decided to head over.. When I got there they said they were on the dinner to lunch break, and I simply said oh bummer! That wasn't advertised no worries I'll come back another time. But a gentleman got out of his car in the parking lot and said I could come in and eat if I wanted to, if I didn't mind cleaning. so I did, only because I live north and don't head south to often. Such good food! I'll be honest i haven't had a good deal of Indian food but I'm always willing to try. I had a mango yogurt drink that was amazing, creamy and refreshing, they bring out a complementary flat crispy bread with 2 dipping sauces. Then I ordered nan, which was tasty and then a goat, potato curry dish with rice and it was amazing. I ordered it mild just to be on the safe side, I'll be back for sure!
