    Chicken curry

New to the SM area and closer to home so we decided to try it. We ordered their chicken tikka masala and the chicken curry. My chicken curry was medium plus but wasn't too spicy so next time I'll go up a level. It was tasty and I enjoyed it. Pricing was average and the place was pretty new and clean inside. We'll likely come back and try other things.

We ordered tonight using Doordash at this new Indian restaurant in San Marcos. They were running a special through DoorDash on their samosas. By one order, get one order free. The samosas were tasty but a little bit different filling than what I've had from other local places. It was a different type of vegetable, maybe even lentil. For my entree, I had korma with lamb. It was very tasty, and creamy but missing the chunks of cashews that I am used too. It also could have been a little bit more tender. My husband had the Pepper fry goat, he enjoyed it. Goat is always kind of boney so you have to expect that with Indian food. But it had the right amount of heat and was a good portion size. I noticed that they have dosas on the menu. Many places don't carry dosas, especially for ordering to go. So next time would love to try that.

2 orders of Chicken Tikka Masala and only one order of rice given

Great quality in food, goat is good not chewy, second time did order to go and feel like I was shorted on rice with 2 orders of chicken tikka masala other than that it's great. Service is good

It's that time of year! Cool weather craving hearty, warm food. We smelled the wonderful aroma of cooking food from across the street that brought us in. We shared a few dishes family style and the vindaloo became the winner at the table. Flavorful sauce, tender chunks of potatoes and chicken. The food was rich enough to fill us up and leave leftovers for us to look forward tomorrow. The staff was friendly. The ambiance was calm and relaxing. We'll be back!

Food with a great lunch special. Taste fresh and home made. I ordered the butter chicken with potatoes. It comes with Nan, rice and a salad. Great service and relaxed ambiance. We're looking forward to come back! It's a place that doesn't rush your lunch time so enjoy it.

Hands-down, full-stop, the BEST Indian cuisine I've had since returning to the USA years and years ago! I came in for dinner with the hubby this evening and was blown away by how good the food is. We ordered a mango lassi, vegetable samosas, chili and onion utthapam, chicken vindaloo, and chicken tikka masala. The mango lassi had a pinch of cardamom in it (I'd never had it that way before), and it just added so much depth of flavor. I cannot imagine ever having my lassi without cardamom ever again. The vegetable samosas were HUGE (sorry I don't get a pic), and stuffed with delicious spiced potatoes, peas, and carrots. The shells were crispy and they came out super fast. If you've never had utthapam, it's like a very savory, sour dough pancake topped with various vegetables. I ordered the chili onion topping and it did not disappoint. The utthapam comes out with three chutneys and a little bowl of lentil soup, but it was so delicious by itself I didn't really need the extra stuff. My hubby's tikka masala was mildly spiced and buttery-delicious. The absolute star of the show was the vindaloo. It was so spicy!!! I was in heaven!!! The hardest thing to convince any server of, as the world's palest Irish woman, I live for very spicy food. It's been near impossible to get a vindaloo hot enough to make me happy. The vindaloo at Tandoori Guys was spicy perfection! I'm talking nose-running, eyes-watering, sweating-a-little, glory! I'm telling you guys it was the best vindaloo I've had since I left London, England. I will be returning again and often just for this dish. Our servers were very sweet and super friendly. The small dining room is modern, super chic, and very comfortable. I really enjoyed my experience, as you can tell. If I could give Tandoori Guys 10 stars, I would! San Marcos finally has a decent Indian restaurant!

Came across Tandoori Guys during a somewhat chilly night and it was definitely a good move! We tried the garlic naan, butter chicken, chicken curry, salt lassi and all were so good, flavorful and comforting. They even gave us complimentary samosas, which was such a sweet surprise! The place is spotless and has a really cozy vibe. I especially loved the patio lights outside, perfect for a relaxed dinner. Definitely coming back!

We came for lunch special and we were not disappointed!! Tbh we were attracted to their $12 lunch plate: 2 curry selections, basmati rice, light cucumber/red onion salad and small sweet dessert with freshly made naan (thin toasted bread) with option of upgrading the naan to garlic naan ($3 extra). This was YUMMY! We also tried the Samosa with a sweet and tangy dipping sauces. This was also worthy to be ordered again on our next lunch visit! The server was nice and courteous! The restaurant was nice and clean! You should give them a try and then come back some more!! ;)))

Brand new spot near Creekside Marketplace (near Winco and Hobby Lobby; right next door to Ding Tea). This is their fourth location in San Diego. I have tried and enjoyed their Carlsbad/Bressi Ranch location. They also have locations in Oceanside and Point Loma. I ordered directly on their website: https://sanmarcos.tandooriguyssd.com. Online ordering goes through imenu4u.com, which has online coupons and no transaction fees. The menu and pricing is very clear on the website. They were running a buy one get one free deal on chicken tikka masala and saag paneer, which are my usual go-tos anyway. So I ended up getting double the amount at the regular price. The flavors were delicious and fresh. I ordered them mild and they were a bit spicier than I'm used to, but again, it was excellent tasting. My order came with two generous portions of basmati rice too. I also ordered the veggies samosas, which come in an order of two with the brown sweet sauce and the green spicy sauce. The wrapping was cooked to perfection with a nice crunch, but also chewiness. The filling was very flavorful with spices. Parking may be a bit tricky during rush hour since it's only street parking. Otherwise, you can park in the Hobby Lobby parking lot and cross the street to get to the restaurant. They have a few tables for dining in with some outdoor seating, as well. Cute spot. I'm so excited for this new local spot that is authentic and tasty! Will be back soon!

I've tried this spot three times in one month. 1st time: My friend ordered takeout and let me try her tikka masala (medium spice). It was really good, so I decided to order something myself the following day. She did mention that when she visited in person, she didn't love the vibes from the staff. 2nd time: I ordered takeout -- Chole Bhature and tikka masala. They included a pickled pepper, which I loved (seriously so tasty). This was my first time going inside the restaurant. The place felt mellow with comfortable seating. The gentleman at the register wasn't overly friendly but also wasn't rude. 3rd time: I went back specifically because I was craving that pickled pepper they included previously. I even showed them a clear photo when I requested it, but they ended up giving me something completely different. Not only did they give me the wrong item, but the cook told me, "Oh, you can probably make it at home." That comment really upset me, but I just carried on with my day thinking the rest of my order was correct. At this point, it's pretty clear they don't value my business, so I won't be returning. The food itself is good overall, but I've never felt welcomed here -- and that matters just as much as the food.

Hands down the best Indian food in North County! The menu offers an amazing variety of dishes, and the spice levels are truly "desi" spicy -- just the way I like it. The chefs are Punjabi, so you know you're getting the real deal when it comes to authentic flavor. The décor is warm and inviting, and the location is convenient. The staff are friendly, attentive, and always happy to help you pick the perfect dish and spice level. Highly recommend!

I love this place!! The interior has a great ambience for dining in and a cozy patio as well. They have a really affordable daily lunch special where you can choose 2 main entrees plus naan, salad and rice. The food is plated so beautifully and it's really delicious and the service is so friendly and welcoming. One of my fave lunch spots!!

    Beautiful art!
