I've come in person on 3 separate occasions. The first time I got the goat biryani. The other two times I've come in I've got the lamb biryani. They are hearty portions. The food is savory and just the right amount of spice for me. Where I sweat a little bit but the spice isn't overwhelming. Sometimes I get a cranberry juice. Service is good. After reading the reviews on Google Maps and Yelp, I've landing on Tandoori House Indian Cuisine in the Tinley Park neighborhood. It's my first time trying Indian food, and Tandoori House did not disappoint. Upon arrival, you must stand in the same line as the patrons getting carry-out orders. I can imagine depending on the day of the week and time of day, this can be a very slow process. We arrived on a Saturday night around 7pm, and waited about 20 minutes to be seated.  The clerk at the desk was handling multiple tasks. Once seated, we were able to order right away, however the food did take a while to come out, approximately 20 minutes before our appetizer arrived. I checked out the menu before arriving, and had an idea of what I wanted. Thankfully the menus explained all the ingredients for each course, and our hostess asked for our spice level preference.  Since it was my first time eating Indian food, I looked for foods that were different, but familiar. Everything was delicious and flavorful.  The portion sizes are huge. I had left overs for two days! Wow! The Indian food at Tandoori House is so delicious! My husband and I tried the Tandoori whole chicken, Chicken Tiki Masala and Chicken Soup. All the food was cooked to perfection! The restaurant was clean and the staff was very nice. The food was mid. It was good enough to go again, but not necessarily rave worthy. Obviously good fresh because it took a bit, but that was totally okay with us. The paneer tikka masala sauce was amazing, the paneer was a bit too firm for my liking. Great food! Came here on a Friday night with a group of 4 and were seated right away. They started us with some crunchy cracker-like appetizer and 2 dipping sauces. The menu is large and they have a nice variety of dishes. I had the tandoori shrimp which came on a piping hot skillet (kind of like fajitas) with onions. The portion was very generous and the shrimp were huge and very delicious. They had a nice smoky flavor. Our table also shared the tandoori veggies which included a mix of broccoli, cauliflower, potatoes, onions, and peppers as well as garlic naan that was perfect for sharing. The service was great and the wait for the food was worth it as you can tell that it is all made fresh. read more

Tandoori House gives off a casual, cozy vibe. The restaurant inside is not very big, but it adds to that comfy vibe along with the tasty food. I went with a group of 12 people on a Saturday night, and we were seated right away. The staff was nice and served our food fast! I am a sucker for Butter Chicken so that's what I ordered (Chicken Makhani on the menu). I always ordered Butter Chicken from Ghareeb Nawaz downtown when I was in college, and I'm gonna be honest, I love the Butter Chicken in Tandoori better than the Ghareebz one (which says alot to me). I also got a mango lassi, and it is a must order for me in Indian restaurants. I highly recommend it! My boyfriend and I shared a Chicken Biryani too which I'm glad we only got one because the serving size is huge for it! (Plus the butter chicken comes with a choice of rice or bread) My friend has the tandoori chicken, and it looked and smelled delicious! The portions are more than enough. Among the best options for Indian food in Tinley Park, because there's only a few. It has fairly good tasting food but at quite a price. Tandoori House apparently isn't as good as it was. Has many Indian basics. Some good choices for vegetarians. Currently no longer has dine in. I had to get a pick up order. This is one of the disappointing things. It used to have a buffet. Selecting things from the buffet is more cost efficient then getting it off the menu. It's too bad they no longer have it. The menu can get pretty expensive especially for the entrees and it costs too much. I had the Kadai Ka Saag at lunch. It's $11.95 for a moderate amount of stuff. This is spinach cooked with garlic, ginger, onions, spices, and tomatoes. Also, bread and rice isn't included. You have to pay extra for these. It's quite a ripoff. They should at least include one of these. As for the food it was good. The spice level was hot enough and it had lots of variety in texture and stuff. Food is tasty but it's too expensive. Tandoori House sits in an unassuming strip mall in suburban Tinley Park - southwest of Chicago. The inside is clean, sparsely decorated and seats about 50 people. It's open for both lunch and dinner - although the menu doesn't seem to vary between the two options. It features a standard variety of Indian dishes, and my wife and I stopped in for an early dinner this past weekend. We were the only diners eating in, but the carryout business was raging while we were there. Between patrons that had ordered and were picking up and/or Door Dash drivers, the front door was never closed for long, so I'm guessing a good amount of their business is take-out. We wanted to try a little bit of everything, so we knew we were gonna have leftovers. We started with the Shrimp Pakora - which featured 6-8 nice sized shrimp and two dipping sauces.. one was like a sweeter plum sauce, and the other was kind of like a mint pesto?!? They were both good. For our meal we decided to split the Chicken Makhani which was a half roasted chicken cooked in creamy tomato sauce and mild butter sauce and served with rice. It was very good and surprisingly mild - not bland - but not the whallop of spices that sometimes come with Indian Food. We also had the Tandoori House Special, which was kind of a sampler platter and featured tandoori chicken, chicken tikka, malaikabab and a lamb seekhkabab. The lamb was delicious and one of the three chicken items was very good. The two others were a bit dry, and lacked any real flavor. Not bad, but not great either. The Tandoori Chicken was one of these, and I was kind of surprised because it's pretty much a staple at any Indian restaurant and I've had much better. Again, it wasn't necessarily bad.. it was just very bland. We also ordered the Chicken Biryani which featured Basmati rice cooked and exotic indian herbs. This dish was really nice and gave a a nice amount of delicious juicy chicken pieces which blended very nicely with the spices in the rice. We ordered two bread side dishes to go with our food - the Garlic Baan and the Paneer Kulcha. The Garlic Naan being the stronger of the two we had. I would've loved a little more of the butter sauce that came with the Chicken Makhani to dip the naan in... our service was good - prompt and friendly - and the prices were fair for the quality of food we were served. The reason for the 4 stars was just that a few of the items lacked that punch of flavor I love when I'm eating Indian food. That being written, it was definitely very good and would more than satisfy anyone's craving for solid Indian cooking. read more

This was my first time here and everything was delicious! The naan was a very nice size, bigger than I expected. The vindaloo was nice and spicy. The makhani had great flavor. The samosas were delicious. The filling was great and the exterior was nice and crunchy! The lamb kabob in the appetizer combo was a bit overcooked, but it was still good. Everything was great and I can't wait to order from them again! Some of it was probably a little overpriced for the portions, but with current food costs, it's probably just the norm now. Ordered for carry out. Took about an hour for one butter chicken, 1 nann bread, one side of rice and 2 samosas. Portions were generous and the food was hot even after my 20 min drive home. My only gripe was the chicken was underwhelming, it was rich and very saucy but the sauce lacked seasoning. The samosas were nice and crispy and lots of filling. $30 was 2 or 3 meals worth of food for me. Will definitely try again! They're closed between 3 and 5 pm I believe so just factor in the amt of time it will take to make when you're making dinner plans. read more

Recently had the opportunity to try lunch at Tandoori House and we loved it! They were very accommodating and understanding of my father's food allergies and brought us some delicious options to try.
