The absolute best Italian restaurant in the suburbs and probably the entire state of Illinois. Everything is fresh and homemade there. Great food which is scratch made by Italian cook who personally brought it out to us. Huge portions so you actually have two meals for the price of one. Great little "Mom & Pop" Italian restaurant. Rocco and his brother, Tony, run the place and 2 of Rocco's nieces were bussing tables the night of our visit. The staff were friendly and on top of it. We came here on a Wednesday night for a special occasion dinner and ordered a bottle of wine, three appetizers and four entrées. Three of our dinners ordered were OK but my one dining companion ordered the Italian baked shrimp dinner and when it came out and she started eating it, she dropped her fork on the plate and said oh my God it's so salty. I flagged our waitress down and said to her that my friend isn't happy with her dinner and the waitress, replied "we don't take food back just because somebody doesn't like it" Before I could even explain to her that my friend has high blood pressure and is on a sodium restricted diet, she asked her if she would like something else and my friend said just a small plate of Italian rigatoni. I have never been to a restaurant before where food that wasn't acceptable, whether it was the taste or confusion between the menu description and what was brought out refused to take the food back and replace it with something else. I was very unhappy with the response of the waitress and should have asked to speak to a manager, but alas, it was a birthday outing and I didn't want to make a big scene. When the check came, it was over $250 for 4 people! (I thought they would have discounted the price of the shrimp dinner ($31.95) since they refused to take it back, or not charge her $11 for the small plate of rigatoni, but they did) Needless to say, we will never dine there again... read more

This is a casual Italian restaurant. We were greeted and welcomed and seated quickly. For starters, we got calamari and they are really light and delicious. Our waitress went over the specials form the day and I went with the corvino fish with artichokes and risotto. It was delicious and not fishy tasting at all. The artichokes and risotto were tasty too. Hubby ordered the lasagna and my gosh, was it huge! I came with meat and hubby said it was really good. We were stuffed and couldn't do dessert but when we come back, we plan on trying the dessert because the tiramisu and cannoli are made in-house. read more

You better have an appetite, because Rocco's Little Italy is going to feed you like grandma. The portion sizes are quite generous no matter what you order. I looked at the lasagna and couldn't believe my eyes. It looked like somebody made an Italian ginger bread house out of pasta. Appetizers, entrees, and desserts are all great to share family style unless you're THAT hungry. I personally had the linguine with clams with white sauce, and it was full of garlic, lots of clams, and butter. It could have used some fresh basil to spruce it up, but I was in comfort food heaven. There are specials on a board hanging up so keep an eye out for that or just ask your server. This place is hopping so you may want to make a reservation. HOT TAKE: When it comes to Italian food, having excellent food and service is just not good enough. Period. There are plenty of Italian kitchens than can accomplish that. For me, going to an Italian eatery should make you want to dress a little sharper and walk in with a little swagger. Now I appreciate that many people will say that this is all in my head... fair enough! But for my Italian dining dollars, the ambiance is 33% of the equation(maybe a bit more). Let me give you a couple examples that may sway you to my way of thinking. Can you imagine sitting for a bowl of linguine and clams and a nice Italian chianti... and some twangy country music is playing in the background???? Hell no!! Any Italian restaurant that doesn't have Dean Martin and Ol' Blue Eyes serenading my culinary experience is off my radar. Ok picture this... Imaging slurping on a bowl of pasta Faggioli & dipping crusty Italian bread in olive oil, in a brightly lit cafeteria setting with white walls and minimalistic decorations... HARD PASS! Italian food tastes better in a dimly lit, low ceiling establishment with family portraits from the old country on every wall! Fuggidaboutit!! Now that EVERYONE agrees with me.... Rocco's Little Italy has it ALL. Not only is the food the best Italian vittles around, they also check the ambiance box in every way. When I'm at Rocco's my mouth & nose are in heaven(of course), my ears are dancing to Dean and Frank, and its so dim that my eyes tell me I'm having a quaint private dinner in my home and everyone there is attractive!! All 3,food,service,ambience. Went there about 7:30 on a week night. Approximately 10 minutes after being seated, a group of about 8,jumped up to welcome a visitor. I get it,you haven't seen someone for a while & you're excited. Half of the table proceeded to YELL,at the top of their lungs,for way over 1/2 hour. Everyone in their vicinity was giving them "dirty looks". It was horrible,constant yelling & not 1 employee asked them to turn it down. Waitress,MANAGER,or whoever was running the place that night,had the nerve to say anything to them. This showed they could care less about the surrounding tables ( 5 tables ). That area got the worst of it. We were sitting farther back and still heard everything from them,loud & clear. I won't ever be back,bland, room temperature food, & SKIMPY portions. Very friendly staff and when I placed my order it was smooth. Being from New England I prefer a smoother and sweeter sauce. I saw from pictures to looked chunky, chunkier than I thought, quite a bit, chop was 1/2 inch minus. Portion on chicken parm was solid but felt it was in proportionate with the small serving of pasta. Pasta was well cooked al-Dante and it was solid. Breading on the parm broke off more than I expect. For a 30 dollar meal I would like more but a solid establishment. read more

Never disappoints. Started with the Stuffed Artichoke, always perfection. A couple in my party had the soups which they said were totally tasty. Our entrees consisted of Linguine with white clams, Eggplant Parmesan, Lasagna with a meatball and the Buratta salad. All were amazing! I used to go to your restaurant at least 4 times a month but not anymore. Food is fantastic but your prices are absolutely ridiculous especially the pasta prices. Even in this economy pasta doesn't cost that much. But hey more power to you if people are paying those prices. My friends told me about ROCCO'S LITTLE ITALY for months...my husband and I finally went there on Sunday afternoon. We were greeted by Patty's smiling face and brought to a very nice table...Italian music in the air. Heather was friendly, attentive and knowledgeable. Warm bread with a crust with eggshell crispness was wonderful with olive oil and grated cheese. Appetizers were hot stuffed banana peppers with sausage and tomato bread. The portion was so huge , it was enough for an entree....we had Heather package it for take home. My husband ordered eggplant Parmesan and I ordered Chicken Piccata. Spectacular and absolutely delicious! The gravy/sauce has a "homemade from Nana's garden" taste. Patty came to our table and asked how we enjoyed our first visit and I assured her that we will return....that's when she suggested homemade cannoli cake!! O DIO MIO!! That was incredibly decadent!! Man, when I walked out of here after my meal all I could say was two words: 5 stars! My best friend had the linguine w/white clam sauce, I had the chicken francese and we shared Italian baked shrimp as a appetizer. All I need is two orders of the baked shrimp and some bread to soak up that delicious white garlic butter sauce and that is a wrap on me! That stuff is excellent. My dish I could not get enough of and my best friend enjoyed her's as well. Service was divine and the place was dark and comfortable for a date night. I usually don't get dessert but the tiramisu was hard to resist and I am glad I didn't because it tasted like heaven. I love this place! read more

I had to try this place just because of the name Rocco and did it turn out great, they have a big selection of food and deserts, I went with my go to Italian food Lasagna with a couple meatballs on the side , it was amazing wife had the fettuccine Alfredo which was very good and a couple of canolli for desert tasted fresh and delicious, I seen they also make a canolli cake as well, I will definitely be going back to try more of the menu . Our waitress was very kind and friendly. The whole place is very heartwarming. The food was very very delicious and tummy-filling. There was a variety of dishes for the vegetarian including eggplant parmigiana, fettuccini with varieties of sauces. Eggplant parmigiana was cooked fresh with Mariana sauce and cheese.
