Hm what to say?? Food came out really fast. The staff was also attentive and kind. The food itself was amazing and there was a huge selection on the menu. The prices were also appropriate for the portions too. It's sort of rare to find a good Indian restaurant so if you're looking to try a new place I would highly recommend this one. Only other thing I recommend is if you really want it spicy then ask for the hot and not the medium. Medium was a bit more like mild but still delicious! This place is also really tiny but can still fit a good amount of people in it. When I was there, a lot of people came through for takeout so it seems to me it's a real hidden gem. Forget giving a star, I want to take away all the stars already given. I trusted the star rating and visited the palace. They must have gotten a bottles of vinegar in bulk, everything tasted of vinegar (even those that shouldn't). We ordered Garlic Naan and they gave us Naan without garlic. Then she realised and asked if we asked for garlic naan we said yes. For which she said ok. Who says ok? Are you not supposed to apologise or ask if it's ok or needs replacement? This place is so freaking delicious like the service was great, everyone super sweet, but beyond that the food was soooooooooo good. Went with two friends and we got the chicken tikka masala (mine), lamb tikka masala, and tandoori shrimp, every dish was delicious, will definitely be coming back. Also the medium is low key reall spicy (still really damn good though) but I will probably always just do mild and add hot sauce as I go! I ordered takeout for my friends birthday and he had never had Indian food. I got Chicken Makhani and I ordered Chicken Tikka Masala for my friend and some naan. It came hot (which is very important for Indian food) and was SO GOOD. I wasn't sure how my friend would handle the famous Indian spices but he ate it all without any water (which means I am stepping up the spice game later haha). My food was fresh, well prepared, and absolutely delicious. I definitely will be taking advantage of the buffet when COVID restrictions ease up. read more

I liked the place. For one, their buffet is open at 3 pm when most other Indian buffets aren't. Their staff is very friendly and are making sure you always have water and naan. Naan is delicious and fresh. The food variety is regular for a lunch buffet but still enough to choose from even for a vegan. They also serve complimentary chai tea which is yum. There are a few things that I'd suggest working on that I took a star off for: it'd be nice to have more peas in the pea rice, the music is a little off for me although other people might enjoy it plenty. read more

We stopped in pretty late night to this place, just looking for some quick food. The food was absolutely outstanding. The I've had lamb vindaloo places before but theirs is amazing. They have so many different naan options but my favorite is the garlic naan. The service was also great it's clearly a family establishment but everyone was so great there. I can't tell you how much food actually comes out it's crazy, be prepared to eat if you go here. The biggest surprise was the bill at the end, for how much food they gave me I expected to pay 3x how much it was, such a deal. I can't say enough good things about the taste, freshness, and outstanding service this place provides for an incredibly reasonable price. Big perk is they are open late too. read more

When I first walked in I thought "Oh this place is small". But it is beautifully designed. The vibe is very welcoming and warm. The food is spectacular and the waitress is very very accommodating & catering as she will bring you more of whatever food you want freshly made. They don't make you feel like you're being rushed or stared at like Zhang's Buffet or Amherst Buffet does. The buffet is also greatly priced at only $10.99 and offers many vegan & vegetarian options. It is a disgrace as to how the quality of food has deteoriated over time. I remember eating there in their opening week. I still remember their unapologetic Indian flavor. Decent Indian restaurant with an average, if uncreative, menu. Currys are good, naan is good. Biriani is not so great as it's probably just rice mixed with curry. Delivery is unreliable as they are sometimes listed as delivering on Skip but aren't actually. The restaurant itself is bare bones and filthy and their child plays video games very loudly right in the dinning area (you can literally hear the parents of his video game friend yelling over the speaker). There also seems to be a lot of family members just hanging around. Okay for takeout though. read more

Ok. To celebrate my first Diwali in the USA for 3 years I thought I would head out for some Indian cuisine. I've been to a few Indian restaurants all over the world (at least 150). I think I finally found one that is worth the trip and a place i return to on a regular basis in the states. An Indian restaurant that takes me to India. I walked into tandoori hut and it felt like I was walking into Punjabi kitchen in whitefield Bangalore (without the tandoori chicken rack out front). I ordered a paneer tikka for starter and sizzling platter of wonderfully cooked paneer came out. Pepper and onion perfectly spiced. I ordered the chicken makhani, some rice and plain naan for my main course and it did not disappoint! Spiced and seasoned just right, the gravy was creamy, spicy and delicious. the naan was easily the best naan since I left India. The only thing is they could have used a finger wash bowl after the meal, but I guess most people here would eat with the fork. I may try some other Indian restaurants in the buffalo area but they have a lot to live up to. read more

But they said he would refill buffet dishes and we were waiting for refill till I'd personally walked upto him to ask for food. He could've asked us to order ala carte. We would've done happily but asking us to have buffet with empty vessels was not called for when he was charging 15$ per person for buffet. read more

This was my second time going to Tandoori Hut, and since I found both visits to be so pleasant, I decided to do a review on the restaurant. My friend and I decided to go to Tandoori Hut on a Friday around 5. When we got there, they were just cleaning up the buffet (tip: they have a lunch buffet for $9.99 from 12-4 ish & a special dinner buffet on Thursdays from 6-10 ish for $14.99). This leads to me talking about customer service. The lady who served us was super sweet - she let us eat at the buffet despite it being a little past the time it was over. She even went out of her way to bring out some fresh food items without any hesitation. She was also very attentive to my friend and I, asking if our meal was satisfactory and even giving us tips on how to make the food taste better. Before we ate, she heated up the food from the buffet so we wouldn't eat it cold (I highly doubt it was cold, but that's just how considerate she was). Now the food - it was super amazing! From the buffet I got pakora (potato stuffing), butter chicken, paneer, and one other chicken dish I can't recall the name of. Then the waitress surprised us - she took it upon herself to bring out fresh naan and Tandoori chicken to our table! It was all so amazing, and we devoured the food until there was almost nothing! In general, this place is amazing and has so much potential to become successful in the future. It is great customer service, and just as fantastic authentic Indian food at an inexpensive price. Not what I expected at all. I ordered chicken tikka masala and the taste was not there. Exceedingly spicy which I prefer but with no taste just burning sensation on tounge. Chicken itself was hard even soaked in the curry which is confusing. Nan was not fresh definetly reheated after being frozen. Rasmalai was disgraceful even tasted a hint of sourness. Tandoori Hut's lunch buffet is a good option in University Heights if you're looking to get as much bang for your buck as possible while staying in the neighborhood. This area could use more eateries open at lunchtime, so I'm glad it's around, though I wouldn't go out of my way to dine here. Arrived at opening time, noon, but the buffet was only partly assembled. We were invited to have a seat in one of the booths, and told that it would be five minutes, but in the end things weren't ready until about 12:15 pm. Not super great if you're keeping an eye on the clock, but luckily we weren't too crunched for time on this particular day. On the plus side, all the dishes were hot and fresh, and we got first dibs. As someone who always chooses "medium" if asked about spice level, I was pleasantly surprised to find that the buffet dishes were a little spicy, since buffet dishes are generally very toned down for a general audience. Nothing was overpowering, but if you can't handle very much spice at all, I would be cautious. The peas in the vegetable biryani were underdone, and the dish didn't seem to have the raisins or cashews that were listed in the description (though I appreciate that descriptions seemed to identify nuts, since my husband has nut allergies). I'm a vegetarian so I didn't eat any of the meat offerings, but they all seemed to have bone-in chicken, which was kind of a turn-off for my husband, who doesn't like bones in his meat (yes, we live in Buffalo and he doesn't like wings). We got fresh naan at the table, though it seems like you may be able to request other breads, since I noticed a party that came in after us received a basket of something else. Service was rather meh. It seemed like most of the staff was also eating lunch in the dining room at the same time we were. We did get our water refilled once, though our plates weren't cleared, and we felt a bit awkward interrupting someone else's lunch to ask for and pay our bill. read more

Being from buffalo, there are not too many great Indian food options. I usually go to Toronto for great Indian food. However tandoori hut is a game changer for Buffalo. I ordered the chicken tikka masala, butter chicken, and lamb biryani. All were excellent. It's still not as authentic of Indian food you would get in Toronto, however still very good. Food is heavy and food coma is a real thing after having a meal here. I would highly recommend this establishment on the purpose of great flavor! read more
