As I first walked in the door I was overwhelmed with the array of menus on the wall. Not being from the area the nice lady behind the counter recommended the shrimp salad or corn beef Rubin so I opted for beef. It was a good recommendation and the beef was piping hot with just the right amount of toppings. It was so hot though it may be better served open vs. wrapped in paper if you're dining in. My sandwich rye bread was toasted but steamed too making the bread doughy. Still a great sammich. My buddy had the shrimp salad and that roll look good. Cream of crab was decent and could have used more crab in my opinion. Hospitality was awesome and there's a side entrance for seating with maybe 10 tables. Great deli!

This spot cranks out the biggest most delicious sandwiches and the price is unbeatable. You have to stop by for lunch if you are nearby. My go to is the belly buster sub. You can't beat it. The service is always impeccable and fast.

An all time Catonsville classic! The staff are very friendly and efficient, there is enough room for a party of 4 at their booths and they have several of them in their dining room. I usually order a jaw breaker, governors club, shrimp salad sub, cheese steak, mother clucker or Eddie Muenster's Revenge all of which are good. Their weekend soup is crab soup, both classic and creamy variety, the cream of crab can vary in quality but when it's good, it's one of the best in Maryland.

As a self-proclaimed sandwich connoisseur, I was excited to try Taneytown Deli after reading so many great reviews. When I arrived, the lady at the counter was friendly and helpful, and it was a promising sign to see so many people coming in to pick up to-go orders as I browsed the menu. I decided on a turkey and ham club with bacon, expecting something spectacular. While the sandwich was decent, it didn't quite live up to my expectations. It was a basic club, but I think the flavor of the meats just wasn't to my taste. On the bright side, I got a parking spot right out front, which was convenient, though I can imagine parking being tricky during busier times. Overall, it was an okay experience, but I'd likely explore other options on the menu before rushing back.

Always great food here fresh, hot, and delicious. I tried The Jawbreaker and it was so delicious paired with a pickle and chips, it makes the perfect lunch. Great customer service and they offer both dine in or carry out options. I recommend this establishment.

Woah! Can't believe I hadn't been here before. The menu is massive and the line appears a little chaotic, but the staff knows what they're doing. We ordered quickly and got our food fast enough. I got the Jawbreaker and they weren't kidding - it was huge and so good. I'm definitely coming back to try out their other stuff.

Fast, friendly service with decent sandwiches. I ordered the Reuben because it's kind of my measure of a sandwich shop and my favorite deli sandwich. Unfortunately, by the time I got outside to eat it, it was too soggy. I would have preferred that they slice the meat and heat the separated slices on the grill before stacking. That would draw out more moisture before it made it to the sandwich. The sandwich was tasty and large, though. So, if I was in the area, I'd think about going back but I would make any special strips.

Best deli around! This place got some big recommends from friends that used to live in Catonsville. We stopped by when we were in the area to pick up lunch to go. The are really strict on COVID safety precautions, so only 2 people in at a time and then you wait outside and they will bring your order out. I really appreciated their due diligence about making sure all customers have a safe experience. I mean, I couldn't go here for my first time and not order the jawbreaker...and neither should you. That sandy is BANGIN! I don't want to get too in the weeds about all of this, but even just the way it was layered impressed me. Some bites I could only get some of the sandwich and I was thinking of wow I'm glad they put the coleslaw here and the tomato here and the that there etc etc. Anyways, this place is awesome. And affordable. With an impressive soda selection, too! I am already thinking of reasons to head to Catonsville so I can get lunch here again.

Upon entering, you walk into a full service, but small, market specializing in Italian grocery items. The ambiance was homey, perfect for a small neighborhood specialty grocery. They also have a deli counter, meat counter, hot food bar, and Italian dessert section, to name a few. They also have pizza kits to take home to make your own and pasta and other food items prepared and ready to go in the refrigerated section. The pizza counter is located in the rear of the store. They also sold other items such as sandwiches. We were greeted by a pleasant young man and ordered our Italian sausage and pepperoni pizza. Scittino's has seating to enjoy your pizza in store or outside. Our order was ready in no time. We opted to take ours to go. The pizza was fresh with a great yeasty crust. The toppings were good and ample, the tomatoes sauce fresh with just enough cheese to pull it all together. The pizza was really good. All in all, another pizza spot to add to our growing list in the area.

Just note, this is a legit country store, offering random canned items, dried goods, toys, collectibles, drinks, snacks, and even hot food. We saw a patron come in, looking for charcoal, and there was a bag hiding behind the front door! We stopped by, as we had heard about Mr. Jay's famous burgers - we ordered one to share, open to any toppings he recommended - ours came with fresh Romaine lettuce, sliced onions, a hot pepper spread, sliced fresh jalapenos, cheese, and mayo, all nestled in a locally baked bread. This was a simple, but a tasty burger! The freshly-ground beef is picked up every morning, from the slaughterhouse that is across the street; I don't really want to think about that all too much, but just know that what you're getting is some fresh proteins! Mr. Jay also grows his own peppers and such, so you'll taste the freshness! There are a few comfortable chairs around the store, so you can definitely just sit and enjoy your food, or take it to go - we opted to dine-in, and we almost fell asleep since we were that cozy and relaxed! HA! Mr. Jay is also known as the Mayor of Oella, so be sure to sit and listen to his stories - he's so kind, personable, and has a lot of history to share! I saw a published photo book of his, which I found super cool; we also received the town's community calendar and a sampling of a neighbor's homemade brownie! Be sure to stop by to grab a meal - we had heard that he makes amazing omelets, so we'd love to try that next time! "My daughter, S A M," Shaw signs back, "playing guitar," as he makes hand motions. "Being able to hear that." "You don't need to. Every spring, I go to the Boston Pops." "Why?" Frank asks disconsolately. "To watch...the feeling...the musicians...to see their joy. It's enough. To see that, to share it." Watching Ava recapture physically not just the performance in her retelling but the appreciation from both musicians and concert-goers alike, Frank starts to rediscover hope, even as he and Ava try to stay alive from the killers hunting them. The appetizers, entrees, and desserts from Eataliano Market & Deli, located at 5325 Phelps Luck Drive in Columbia, Maryland, prompt similarly unexpected overflows of culinary memories and joy. Upon our first visit of what we hope will be many, my wife and I placed the following takeout order: 1 order of Baked Meatballs 2 orders of Garlic Bread 1 ten-inch Empire Pie (I requested no ricotta or extra virgin olive oil) 1 order of Rigatoni Meatballs alla Vodka 1 order of Spaghetti with Homemade Meat Sauce 1 slice of Limoncello Mascarpone Cake 1 slice of Pistachio Cheesecake The garlic bread and pistachio cheesecake alone conjured spectacular reminisces. The pizza is the best we've had in Maryland, although my wife regretted my choice of no ricotta; and we would gladly reorder our pasta dishes if we didn't have many more entrees that we want to try.

HIDDEN GEM!!!! I…read morestumbled across this place while visiting Columbia, MD. I was craving a good cheesesteak, so I did what any responsible foodie would do--I consulted Google. This place kept popping up, so I figured the internet couldn't be wrong... at least not this time. The restaurant is tucked away in what feels like a residential area, making it a true hidden gem. The parking situation, however, deserves its own reality show. Spaces are limited, and getting in and out of the parking lot felt like I was participating in an advanced driving course. The establishment offers nice seating, but don't expect a formal dining experience. You place your order at the counter and then find your own seat. When we arrived, the place was packed with people ordering and eating. That's usually a good sign, and at that point I knew we had either found the jackpot or everyone in Columbia had the exact same cheesesteak craving. Because of the crowd, ordering took a little while. The dining area was also in need of some attention--we ended up cleaning our own table before sitting down. The food took longer than expected to arrive, but as soon as I took the first bite, all was forgiven. We ordered two cheesesteaks and a personal pepperoni pizza. The cheesesteaks were absolutely loaded with perfectly grilled meat, topped with grilled onions and peppers, all served on a warm, soft hoagie roll. Every bite was packed with flavor and required at least a few extra napkins. The personal pepperoni pizza was also excellent. I'd describe it as a traditional thin-crust pizza with the perfect balance of sauce, cheese, and pepperoni. No ingredient was trying to steal the spotlight--it was a well-rehearsed pizza ensemble. As I said from the beginning, this place is a hidden gem. The food alone is worth the trip. The only reason I gave it 4 out of 5 stars instead of 5 is because of the challenging parking situation and the dining area's cleanliness and service. Fix those two issues, and this place might just become my new definition of a cheesesteak pilgrimage destination
