As soon as you get to the edge of the property, you are navigating a maze of tiny signs in Woodloch handwriting, trying to figure out where to turn to sign in. I made a couple of wrong turns. Once I got there, I had to figure out where the door was. Signing in was actually quite painless, mainly because other family members had signed in moments before, but I didn't get a map so I was lost the rest of the time, depending on others to navigate around (and we definitely had questions). Event timing. I missed out on a couple of events because things we wanted to do were double-booked. Then we had off time when nothing was booked. Why not spread things out throughout the day? Events themselves. We thought bowling would be fun. It was a hollow ball so that anyone any age could roll it. The bad bowlers did better than the good ones. That's what made me miss trivia, though perhaps that would have also been no fun. Okay: A nice house we got, though the living room had a bunch of wasps outside the window so I was definitely not happy there. Clear your nests. Also at least one of our cards went bad, but I wasn't staying more than a day so I didn't have to worry about that. Beers. A couple of locals, just poor selection overall. Good: Pools. Multiple. All ages, all temperatures. Too crowded outslde? Go inside. Three different hot tubs. Kiddie splash area inside, which added to my family's enjoyment when I accidentally discovered it while wandering inside to use the restroom. (Part of that being lost problem. Lack of signs for anything.) Food. Though it went on my family's tab, they will feed you whatever you want for whichever meals you sign up for. My family will enjoy breakfasts and dinners to their hearts' content. Very high quality meals. You are assigned a table and a server, for whatever that's worth to you - definitely one less way to get lost! But if you don't like your server... I'm willing to bet they would work something out. Guest service was not a problem. Overall: I am being a little generous in stars because resorts are not my thing. But this place is in desperate need of an upgrade in signing everything. Post maps in more places. Upgrade your experiences and spread them over the course of the day. For now: You have been warned. Good luck.

We checked in midday so we had the benefit of having daylight- making first impressions less creepy. We were the only ones in the bed-and-breakfast, as far as we could tell . Not a sole insight. There was no degree of security. No codes to enter, etc., after reading a taped message on the front door, we entered and eventually found our room. I truly love old / historic homes and Inns. I usually offer them quite a bit of Grace..... Despite outdated furnishings, our room appeared clean and the bed was comfortable. The air-conditioning worked well and there was a small room refrigerator. Surprisingly, no musty smells. The bathroom is in need of some serious repair. The sink is chipped and rusty and the shower tub- well, it's is far from a shower. We showered late that night and despite the timing, there was little water flow -more like a trickle by the time my husband showered. We had no idea when breakfast would be served - since we never saw anyone. We just wandered down the next morning. The breakfast dining room, where we were to eat, had a trashy movie playing on the TV. I got up and changed it . The breakfast was subpar with low level of supplies - tea, etc. We are willing to pay more for a room knowing breakfast is included. We should've dined out instead. I have one more true life commentary - there was a table in the hallway upstairs that appeared to be an amenity table - boxed hairdryer and box of Trojans. I thought it was a prank for someone staying at the Inn at first, however, later realized - don't think so. Time to Class it up several notches, Wayne on Main!!! Honesdale is a fabulous historic town. The Inn has tremendous potential - if only some sweat equity and thoughtfulness was put into it. Our overall experience was similar to that of the Twilight Zone. Perhaps you should look elsewhere.

When we arrived at night, there was no one present to check us in. A sign directed us to walk several minutes down a cold, dark street to another hotel for check-in. We had our 11-year-old daughter with us, who was asleep. At the other hotel, no clerk was there. After waiting about 15-20 minutes and calling the number provided, a bartender from the adjacent bar eventually came to the desk. She appeared visibly intoxicated, said she was only the bartender, and was unable to help us check in. We returned to the original property. The instructions said our name and key would be at the room, but there was no name on any door and no key waiting. After knocking on doors, we eventually had an uncomfortable interaction with someone associated with the property and were finally given a key. The room itself had serious maintenance concerns, including loose/exposed electrical raceway in the shower area, cracked paint, brown water in the toilet, a cramped bathroom setup, and an overall condition that felt poorly maintained. I rarely leave negative reviews and understand small inns are difficult to operate. But this property should not accept reservations if it cannot provide a safe, organized check-in process. Our experience felt disorganized, uncomfortable, and unsafe. I would not recommend this property, especially for families arriving at night.

From the moment we arrived, we felt cared for. No tipping worries, a warm welcome with a handy tote and waterbottle, and a quick orientation set the tone. Yes, it's a splurge--but worth every penny for the details alone. We loved strolling the nature trails, spotting deer, and relaxing in the woods cabin stocked with water, tea, bug wipes, and even a s'mores kit (plus a real bathroom few steps away!) Kayaking was peaceful, and our massages melted the stress away--though I do wish they had included fingers! The Whisper Lounge was a dream: dim lights, cozy silence, and snacks that let you fully unwind. Coffee/tea/water everywhere. Meals were fresh, organic, and delicious--especially the salads straight from their farm. The three included meals per day made dining a highlight (just don't recommend the pork bao - dry side) We took chakra yoga, tai chi, self defense and even a sketch/painting class--everything was thoughtfully led and enriching. Loved all of our instructors! Only feedback: separate the activity desk from the spa desk, as the spa reps seemed stressed. Also be sure to check the bill to ensure you are not charged an extra meal. Take time to checkout the local waterfalls and trails Please please please be careful driving as there are deer that cross the road, it's their home not ours. My brother in law was walking back to the van so we could head to our next destination when he was stopped by security. Security asked for his id and said he needed to check the tags. Keep in mind this is private community security and not local police. My wife who rented the vrbo we stayed at then got out of the van to try to explain to security that our van was a rental because it seems the reason security was harassing my brother in law was supposedly we needed a permanent community sticker. The guard said the reason why we didnt have a sticker did not matter and he was going to have to write us a citation. My wife gave him the address of vrbo and he claimed there was no way for him to verify we were renting the vrbo. I would also like to mention security was shaking,loud, and agitated from the start. At this time I wll also state that I am a white male, my brother in law is black, and my wife is afro latina. I would love to be able to say it didnt seem racially motivated but the whole situation is very surreal otherwise. My brother in law couldnt stop talking about the fact that this was his first perceived racially charged experience in his thirty year life. The security also seemed like someone who always wanted to be a cop, wasnt able to for whatever reason, and this job was his opportunity to relish some display of power. Im not sure if people should just be aware of security because they are on a power trip or if mixed populations / people of color should avoid this place. Other than the sour experience with security at the end it was a pleasant stay. Pardon poor grammar as i am typing on phone in a car following incident.

The owners are incredibly kind and take great pride in maintaining the property. The individual cabins make our stays feel unique, and our daughter always looks forward to staying in "her little cabin," which makes the trip even more special. Most recently, we experienced an unexpected vehicle breakdown while traveling. The owners supported us, even though they had no obligation to do so. Their kindness meant more to us than they probably realize. We will absolutely continue staying at Myers whenever we're traveling through the area.
