I've been going to Lukan's for Easter every year my entire life, and my family has been going long before me! Every year is better than the next. The lovely Eleanor does such a great job at greeting everyone and taking them to their table. It really feels like you're part of the family going up to Lukan's every year. The staff is so welcoming and genuinely seem happy to be serving you. Their team is on it! Always coming out with more food, drinks and anything you need, all while serving multiple tables that are usually parties of 5 or more. All the waitstaff seems to get along too, trying to enjoy their time together. This year, our server Jillian was a treat! She was so on her game, helping my family and keeping our plates full. The Farm itself is so lovely, tons of outdoor games like Ping Pong and Basketball. If you venture deeper into the property you can have some fun with all the animals like sheep, goats, chickens and even a Peacock. I'll have to stop by for dinner beyond Easter the next time I'm in the area. read more

Just returned from a long weekend at Lukans Farm Resort. Needed to just relax and unwind, and there is no place better! The rooms are beautiful, clean, very comfortable, quiet and smoke free! Tennis, basketball, ping pong, hiking trails, farm animals (even peacocks!), and a relaxing outdoor pool! But the most fabulous part is the food. Breakfast and dinners always SUPER DELICIOUS! Fresh baked rolls start every dinner. Delicious meat entrees, fresh grown farm vegetables, garden salads, fresh fruit appetizers, and OMG desserts! Cheesecake, black raspberry ice cream cake, sundaes--thank goodness they only include two meals a day. Don't think I could fit any more! Kudos to Eleanor and the whole family! In addition to this being a resort, they are open for dinner to the public. The menu is fixed and is served family style. Friends brought us here and it was a delightful treat. We were here on a Saturday evening which meant dinner was a breaded pork chop. The sides were broccoli, corn, coleslaw and baked potato. The appetizer was a slice of Honey dew melon and the bread was delightful. Along with the pork chop was some homemade applesauce And a homemade cherry relish. The pork chop was so tender you didn't even need a night. It was a wonderful meal with as many refills as you needed. The wait staff was very attentive. Eleanor and her family do a wonderful job of making you feel at home even if you are not staying with them. Ok this actually hurts to leave this review because we loved this place but the past couple of time we've gone, while the food was very good, the service and ambiance was less than desired. First off, it feels more rushed lately. It's almost as thought they want you to eat and get out. From the moment the bell rings, the clock is on. The wait staff has gotten so harried lately that the way they race from the kitchen with their heavy - almost military like stomping will give you complete agita. While we have had great experiences in the pat with the wait staff, lately they seem so rushed that heaven forbid you ask for something different, It throws them all off. Last trip there we sat at 6 (you can set an atomic clock from their schedule!) and had full entre by 6:15 and were being made to feel like we had to wind it up by 6:45. Our waiter never got to our table in time to ask us if we wanted drinks by the time we got our bottle of wine I felt like I had to chug it and go Like i said, the food never disappoints and the people are so damn nice ! but it just seems that they have adopted a regimen that is all about the schedule and the ceremony, Regardless how fast it goes. We spent one night of our honeymoon here. From the moment we walked in we were treated like family. The grounds are absolutely gorgeous. The dinner that was served was nothing short of amazing and delicious, as well as the breakfast. They even gave us a bottle of wine on the house for our honeymoon stay. Everything is home made and served family style. After a week full of fun (but processed foods and a ton of alcohol at other resorts), staying here was much needed for our minds, bodies, and souls. My family and I try to make it to Lukan's for a meal while we are vacationing nearby. This year we made reservations for Friday, for their pork chop dinner. As always, their battered pork chops were amazing! The dinner started with self serve fresh tri colored tomatoes and fresh coleslaw. The main course was served with baked potato and broccoli and freshly made apple sauce. What was new to me was the wine list. Not much of a wine connoisseur, with the exception of not appreciating red wines, I took the recommendation of our waitress to sampling a glass of Moscato which was a great compliment to the meal. We have been staying at Lukan's for five years in a row while attending the Oktoberfest in Honesdale. While the food is good and the grounds are nice, the facilities have gone somewhat downhill. For three of the five years we have stayed, (in August) there have been issues with the room's air conditioning system. This time, the AC unit did not work very well at all, making our room quite uncomfortable. When I called to alert them of the issue, the son came to look at it and stated there was nothing wrong with it. Again, later that afternoon, I called again and assured them that there was something wrong with it. Our friend's room, right next to ours, was very cool and pleasant. Our room stayed very warm and humid. The room also smelled due to this issue. Again, the son came out and was not so pleasant this time, stating that WE were at fault by leaving doors and windows open. We assured him that was not the case, but this fell on deaf ears. The "son" is also the cook, so he was a little put off that he had to come back to our room so close to dinner I suppose. We are college-educated professionals (one is an engineer) but we were scolded like children, again dismissing our complaints. He had the gall to show us a laser temperature gun that showed 68F but we were not buying it. He did not seem to understand, or care, that it was very humid and the 68F temperature meant very little. We stayed in our room and had a very uncomfortable last night there. When we checked out, again, the lady could not help but serve us with a little slap on the wrist for opening doors and windows and then complaining about the room temperature. We liked that place and the people...for the most part. However, while we will be returning next year to the annual Oktoberfest, we have decided to stay elsewhere, booking a house on Lake Wallenpaupack. read more

Teen Review Great service. Great food. Great atmosphere. Last night I had dinner here and it was one of the best experiences at a restaurant. To start off the service was great because our waiter always refilled our glasses and platters. It was as if he could read our mind. Second the food came out hot and very good. Like I should of said earlier I went to the roast turkey dinner. It was served with of course roast turkey, mashed potatoes, stuffing, gravy, green beans, salad, vegetable soup, and for dessert brownies and ice cream. We visited Lukan's Farm Resort yesterday and had the most wonderful Roast Beef Dinner. They serve family style and it is all you can eat. The prices went up slightly (and I mean slightly) but Lukan's is no different that anyone else. The food they serve are farm grown by them. Elinor, the owner, was there as always and she is an absolute delight! She makes everyone feel welcome. We really try to go to Lukan's every year to meet our besties and see Elinor. The gardens are gorgeous....flowers everywhere and beautiful. If you want, you can take a very short walk and see animals. Elinor sells food, so you can feed the goats. Lukans is a little bit off the beaten path but it is not hard to find! Visiting Lukan's is definitely worth the trip. Every day, they offer different meals! Don't miss out, visit Lukans! Used to come here as a kid. It was awesome then too! Rooms were always clean, but the meals... oh the meals were fabulous! Served in a dining hall setting, when the dinner bell rang, you knew you were in for good eatin! They would keep the food coming if you wanted more, although generous portions already! My family and I had a delicious Easter lunch at Lukan's. The food was excellent - beautifully cooked ham and roast beef and amazing mashed potatoes and gravy. Service was perfect - gracious, pleasant and professional. Dessert was a lovely black raspberry ice cream cake. The dining room was comfortable and filled with natural light. We sat near the large windows in the main dining room. The table was decorated for Easter with a holiday Easter basket cupcakes in front of each seat. The hosts are genuinely pleasant too.
