From the moment we arrived, we felt cared for. No tipping worries, a warm welcome with a handy tote and waterbottle, and a quick orientation set the tone. Yes, it's a splurge--but worth every penny for the details alone. We loved strolling the nature trails, spotting deer, and relaxing in the woods cabin stocked with water, tea, bug wipes, and even a s'mores kit (plus a real bathroom few steps away!) Kayaking was peaceful, and our massages melted the stress away--though I do wish they had included fingers! The Whisper Lounge was a dream: dim lights, cozy silence, and snacks that let you fully unwind. Coffee/tea/water everywhere. Meals were fresh, organic, and delicious--especially the salads straight from their farm. The three included meals per day made dining a highlight (just don't recommend the pork bao - dry side) We took chakra yoga, tai chi, self defense and even a sketch/painting class--everything was thoughtfully led and enriching. Loved all of our instructors! Only feedback: separate the activity desk from the spa desk, as the spa reps seemed stressed. Also be sure to check the bill to ensure you are not charged an extra meal. As soon as you get to the edge of the property, you are navigating a maze of tiny signs in Woodloch handwriting, trying to figure out where to turn to sign in. I made a couple of wrong turns. Once I got there, I had to figure out where the door was. Signing in was actually quite painless, mainly because other family members had signed in moments before, but I didn't get a map so I was lost the rest of the time, depending on others to navigate around (and we definitely had questions). Event timing. I missed out on a couple of events because things we wanted to do were double-booked. Then we had off time when nothing was booked. Why not spread things out throughout the day? Events themselves. We thought bowling would be fun. It was a hollow ball so that anyone any age could roll it. The bad bowlers did better than the good ones. That's what made me miss trivia, though perhaps that would have also been no fun. Okay: A nice house we got, though the living room had a bunch of wasps outside the window so I was definitely not happy there. Clear your nests. Also at least one of our cards went bad, but I wasn't staying more than a day so I didn't have to worry about that. Beers. A couple of locals, just poor selection overall. Good: Pools. Multiple. All ages, all temperatures. Too crowded outslde? Go inside. Three different hot tubs. Kiddie splash area inside, which added to my family's enjoyment when I accidentally discovered it while wandering inside to use the restroom. (Part of that being lost problem. Lack of signs for anything.) Food. Though it went on my family's tab, they will feed you whatever you want for whichever meals you sign up for. My family will enjoy breakfasts and dinners to their hearts' content. Very high quality meals. You are assigned a table and a server, for whatever that's worth to you - definitely one less way to get lost! But if you don't like your server... I'm willing to bet they would work something out. Guest service was not a problem. Overall: I am being a little generous in stars because resorts are not my thing. But this place is in desperate need of an upgrade in signing everything. We arrived 5pm Fri left 9am Sun. $600. Many added fees including a $70. Resort fee. We did get a $150 credit at Glass. But still paid add'l $125 and we had no alcohol. The steak was underwhelming. The small plates (for sharing) just kept adding up since we don't have the same tastes. There were so many leaks in the ceiling when it poured and all thru dinner people had to either move tables or be transferred inside. No apologies from staff who acted like this was normal. It was our anniversary and we made the best of it but will not return.

A beautiful sight to behold. If only we have time, there is a walking trail along. The tour was enjoyable, our guide was amazing. The ride gave us the chance to explore the history behind this man made lake. We solved the relaxation we craved through this boat trip for this weekend. An enjoyable ride.

The area was so peaceful and relaxing that we decided we weren't ready to leave. The wonderful owners made adding an extra night incredibly easy and accommodating, which we really appreciated. We stayed in Cabin 3, which had two bunk beds and a double bed, and everything was very clean and comfortable. Having a full private bathroom with hot water was a huge plus, along with a fully operable air conditioner and a Roku TV when we wanted to unwind at night. You also have the pond available for swimming, and the entire property has that quiet, laid-back atmosphere that makes you actually feel like you got away from everything. The honor-system general store was another great touch. It was extremely convenient to grab ice, food items, souvenirs, and even old-time candy without having to leave the property. The staff was extremely pleasant and welcoming throughout our stay. And having KC Peppers Bar & Grill right there is a major bonus and definitely one of the highlights of the area. What really makes Lake Wanoka special, though, is everything surrounding it. Within minutes you have incredible local dairies, farms, butchers, delis, and restaurants. Hartler Farms was a must for fresh milk and meat, and Alpine Restaurant & Deli had some of the best beef bacon and Canadian bacon I've ever had. You can spend the day exploring the area, come back with some of the best local meat and dairy you can find, and cook an unbelievable meal right at camp. It really gives you the best combination of camping, comfort, great local food, and peace and quiet. For us, it was well worth the four-plus-hour drive. The fact that we came for the weekend and ended up adding another night probably says it better than anything else could. Peaceful, clean, accommodating, and surrounded by some fantastic local food and farms. We would absolutely come back. Five stars!

The inground pool is a 30 minute drive from the resort! The staff at that location are very strict with the rules. They find ANY reason to come bark at you. You're not allowed to use their outdoor pool... no food or drinks allowed around pool, etc. I had a bag of mini pancakes to give to my 1 year old and not even a min passes before I had a lifeguard pounce on me. The property itself is on a hillside with different tiers. Lower tier has a cluster of rooms with the front having a partial view of the Lake and the back having the view of a tennis court and the forest. The mid and upper tier were the "forest" condos. The upper tier has a Grilling pit/picnic area with a shuffleboard court in the middle. These condos were set up in clusters of 4 surrounding this common area. These were more secluded and more peaceful of the condos you can get. The grounds were not maintained well at all. It's full of debris from the surrounding environment. The condo themselves was just acceptable. There was an initial mustiness smell entering the condo. The kitchen was overall clean. The kitchen utensils they supply was acceptable but definitely can use replacing. The Toasters was dirty and I did not dare to use it. Pots and pans were acceptable. Appliances were in working order. Several ceiling tiles were stained and their integrity was questionable. The living room was carpeted and had the strong mustiness smell. The carpets could have used a good cleaning. The sofas appeared old the cushions were questionable on how clean it was. It seemed like it was not replaced in a while. The curtains were dirty and stained. Needed replacing. The bedrooms were carpeted and that same mustiness lingered. All the beds were worn and overused. It was not a comfortable bed. Needed replacing. Again curtains were stained and needed replacing. All other furniture were in good condition. There was a spiral staircase leading to the bedroom loft with the bathroom. Nothing wrong with the staircase. Carpeted. Not going to repeat myself with the carpets. The loft had a worn king size bed. Not a comfortable bed. Had back aches after laying in it. The loft bathroom was spacious. There was double sink and jacuzzi tub that didn't look too clean. There was remnants of a shower door being there but was replaced with curtains. All shower heads had hard water deposit. Needs replacing. The balconies were exposed to the forest and could use cleaning. The "resort" seems to run at bare minimum. It definitely translates to the bare minimum experience the guests feel. I was definitely disappointed with the experience and the condition of the place. It's a shame. The "resort" could have been much more than what I experienced.
