I love Tank & Libby's staff -- they are always cheerful no matter what's going on in the world. When I tried the Momma omelette, I was hooked and there is nowhere that makes it fresher than Tank & Libby's. They are a give back company and donate to local organizations. Wow! Wonderful work. Oh Yes! This part of Delco has been starving for a breakfast/brunch restaurant that's not a diner! It's so nice not to have to go to Havertown or W. Philadelphia just to have a good brunch! The food here is center city quality and the service was very friendly and attentive. Cute decor and 2 bathrooms that were clean. We came at around 10:45 and waited about 20 minutes, I'm sure that as word gets out that time will be longer (maybe I shouldn't tell you all how good it was)...noooo that just wouldn't be right! Food: crab cake Benny- perfect poached egg and delicious hollandaise, of course I loved it!; steak and eggs- this was ordered by my buddy who pretty much hates breakfast but is willing to torture himself for me - he said it was actually pretty good, their breakfast potatoes are very good I may add, they taste very fresh and have fresh cut bell pepper and onion, yummy!; chicken and waffles- Omg, this just might be the best in Philadelphia. The chicken is boneless, seasoned with some good spices and has a perfect crispy crust! Food is awesome! I had a Jersey sandwich, which comes with potatoes, my wife had a bagel and cream cheese with bacon and potato hash and then we shared the Bananas Foster pancakes. They were AMAZING. Definitely very sweet but a little crunchy from the sugar, and the sauce was incredible. Coffee was La Colombe, and it was also very good. 10/10 would go again. The only reason I'm taking off a star is for what happened when we were waiting. They're a new place and it's brunch on a Sunday, I totally get that we are going to wait, and that's no big deal. What DID bug me was after waiting for a bit (like all the other people) this group who knew the owner came in, said oh we know so and so, and they were like OH! Ok. Well how many? Yeah we'll seat you now. Definitely not cool when you have the entire front of your place filled with people who've been waiting 30 min at least. I think it annoyed me a little extra that when the people were sat, we saw them high fiving, laughing and saying it's good to know the owners. I'm so thankful Yelp lead me to this breakfast & lunch gem. It's a new establishment, but it looks like the locals have embraced Tank & Libby's with open arms. I ate lunch on a Thursday afternoon and it was packed. They sat me at the bar immediately, everyone was friendly and helpful. I had the Bruchetta salad and it was amazing! To tank something is to do badly at it, or fail. This place really lives up to its name!!! Did I mistakenly order one omelet with a side order of bad service again? My third time here and I'm done. There is always an issue. Last time it took over 40 minutes to get my order and another 10 afterward for my friend. You have to beg for coffee refills. Going out for breakfast should be a pleasurable experience --Tank & Libby is anything but! I know there isn't much in Upper Darby but really, this place is a joke! read more

We love love love coming to Tank and Libby's. The VEGAN options are unlike anything you can get anywhere else around here. It tastes BETTER than homemade. It's like my mom roasted the peppers and onions.... so good. I recommend the tofu scramble, with peppers and onions, rye bread and vegan butter. Don't forget the fresh orange juice! Can't say enough great things about the food here, OMG! The huge Belgian waffles and French toasts with different toppings are incredible, and the omelettes are amazing. The service is always top-notch and the servers are attentive, accurate, and helpful. They have set up outdoor seating during the entire pandemic but you can also call ahead and get your food to go. They also provided catering during Christmas of 2020 and we got the $100 catering for two people, which was more than enough food for us and was a great meal with turkey, dressing, sweet potatoes, etc. My only complaint is everyone else has discovered this place, and the lines get long on weekend mornings! This is a favorite of my sister and niece. Now a favorite of mine. We had to wait about 30 minutes for a table but took advantage of the time by visiting other merchants in the area. This restaurant will text when your table is ready - great asset! I had the standard French toast with a side of bacon - Wonderful! It was well presented and the taste was outstanding! I really wanted to like this place. I certainly like the story of the two chefs. The service was strange. It seems to take the staff a long time to enter orders and when they have to add something, it seems to be a big hassle for them. The computer system should be improved, you want people to order more! For example, I wanted to order another iced coffee (La Colombe, so yummy!) and was presented with the check without being asked if we wanted anything else. As for the food: My daughter ordered chicken noodle soup and she got beef noodle with no explanation. She did not like it. I ordered the Special: Jersey tomato salad. The tomatoes were light colored and tasteless. If you don't have good Jersey tomatoes, why advertise? It was so disappointing. We both thought the little girl wrapping silverware nailed it. She was polite and welcoming. She was the best part of our visit. read more

Tank and Libby's is our go-to weekend brunch place for so many reasons. They can easily accommodate food allergies, which is very important for our family. The food is tasty and has eye appeal, thanks to the culinary training of the two founders. We loved how bright and comfortable the dining area is, with quirky decorations such as reclaimed tile, photographs and artwork related to this area. In addition, we love the environmental stance of the founders, who are highly aware of that thanks to having a marine biologist in the family. Plus, the wait is seldom very long and less long if you don't mind sitting st the counter. We highly recommend it and take all our friends and family there when they visit. read more

Bland food, but great service and huge portions. I had the turkey burger, which lacked flavor. My friend and I split the Nutella French toast. I never thought it'd be possible, but they was way too much Nutella. It was basically like eating Nutella from the jar. My friends fried chicken sandwich was good though. I want to love Tank & Libby's. The food is consistently amazing, they also have one of my favorite dishes on the menu too. It's always a special treat when we can order from them. The issues I run into there is everything else. It's a small space and always packed tight when I've dined in which can be stressful. Last time I was there with my son it turned out we were given different menus with pretty significantly different price points. I had made my initial choices but had to completely reassess after I found out the prices were different. I pointed out the discrepancy to the wait staff and they just shrugged. I've also tried doing order pick ups but often leave feeling like my order and pick up was somehow an inconvenience to them. The prices are also very expensive which given the quality of the food I can try to understand (except for the no refill policy on a $5 Hot Chocolate) but besides the menu issue mentioned above I've had similar issues with discrepancies between the prices listed on the website and the price charged when I pick up my order. They also charge you an unexpected fee for using your card instead of paying cash. It leaves me feeling swindled every time I visit. Why not be upfront and include the fee in the food costs and offer a discount for those that pay cash? I WANT to love Tank & Libby's, maybe you will if money isn't a concern for you. I can guarantee you'll enjoy the food at least. read more

I have been here a handful of times. My wife, in laws and kids like having breakfast here after church. Their food is good. I am not a fan because the service I always seem to get here is terrible. Basic things seem to be hard for this staff. This past Sunday when the food came out, everyones food came out except mine. Waited at least 5 minutes for mine to come out. Not overly a big deal because usually when I go out with my kids, my food comes out first and not theirs. I think if kids are at a table and if you don't bring out all the food at once then theirs should come first. Some of my family members ordered pancakes and waffles. No syrup was offered. The food sat their for a few minutes before I could ask one of the other members of the staff for syrup. My kids wanted ketchup, I had to ask the table next to us because the waitress wasn't around. I over heard the people at the table next to me complaining about the service as wel. I asked for an additional drink, it never came. A few weeks ago, I ordered take out. 20 minutes later when I went to pick it up, the lady at the counter told me the order was never put through. I walked out. Every time except once that I have been here, there seems to be at least one issue with the waitresses. I don't usually write reviews because it feels like a waste of time but if you want descent food you can check this place out. Don't hold your breath for descent service. read more

Hi, We just left your establishment. So I'll start with the pros: Food was TOP NOTCH. Very good, well seasoned and decent size portions. The decor of the restaurant is well thought out and friendly as well. We felt comfortable in the environment and welcome. Cons: the service was EXTREMELY lacking and the reason for the 3 star review. Our waitress, Nicole was NOT attentive. We had on numerous occasions, asked the tall man at the host table, who I'm assuming is Alex? to step in and provide customer service that she should've provided. Such as, asking for water (which took 25mins), asking for extra coffee creamer (again, a significant amount of time, in which Alex, I'm assuming, had to provide it). Also, when it was time to leave we had to wait 10mins for the check, and another 10-15mins for the check to be picked up. Our food took about a good 20-30 mins to come out, even though people who sat down after us, had their food provided to them. We also felt that she showed more attention to an older couple, and other more familiar couples in the restaurant, along with laughing and joking, while we patiently waited for our items. Because we had to wait for more coffee creamer, our coffee ended up being cold and not edible. We also noticed that when we provided the check, Nicole was spoken to by the manager, I'm assuming and flipped her hands in the air, looked toward us, like it was our fault or something We wouldn't mind coming here again, in order to change a 3-star to a 5-star. But, we feel that for a first time customer, this was a BAD experience. read more
