The tech then ran through my entire softener to make sure it was operating correctly and left. No charge, although I'd have gladly paid for a service call. Sharp is a top-notch company. My dad recommended them to me after he had a great purchase and install experience. I won't go anywhere else for anything I can get from Sharp.

The water softener they put in is over 15 years old now and never had a problem. We were so happy with the water softener we've had them do some other plumbing work such as changing toilets, installing a whole house reverse osmosis system and adding hose bibs. Same results, excellent work with no issues. They took particular care to make sure they cleaned up after themselves. Have recommended them to over a dozen other people and every one raves about them. Not one complaint which is very unusual for a plumber. Would give Sharp Water Solutions six stars if we could.

He said the add-a-wire was broken and we'd need to get a new one when actually, all he needed to do was set a refrigerant setting on the control board (which another installer knew to set to get it working well). He also stopped responding to our texts to have him bring the 2 parts and finish the job for two weeks as we were suffering with heat and no AC. He justified this ghosting by being out town. So we had to hire someone else. We wanted to be reimbursed $300 for having to hire someone else to diagnose and set this setting. He refused. To not take care of the settings to make the unit operable is deceptive when the agreement was that he would "install the furnace". From some research online, an "installation is generally understood to not just encompass the physical placement and connection of the unit but also the necessary configuration, adjustments, testing, and setup steps to ensure the system is fully operable and safe to use". It was also deceptive to say he would handle extra material and not replace a bit of venting. But I generously let the vent concern go. When I asked him to refund us for having to hire someone else to set this setting, he said, regarding dealing with settings: "I don't do that." I responded that if I'm paying someone $500 an hour, I expect professional know-how and a complete install. He called us ridiculous for essentially wanting an actual working furnace and not having to pay someone else extra to finish it. Despite me explaining that the setting was the issue, and that the next technician restored the power to the thermostat simply by setting that, he insisted the furnace wasn't working because we didn't upgrade the wire to the thermostat. Tristan said regarding the wiring, "this is the proper way to install WITHOUT changing any settings on the damn furnace" But research online says that the furnace will not operate properly without correctly setting this. In fact, it was an obvious issue that the blower was always on with no thermostat wire connected, which the second installer identified and said should not be happening given no signal from the thermostat telling it to turn on. Further indicative of his unprofessionalism, at one point he said, "Thanks for trying to take food out of my family's mouth for no reason." I responded, "thanks for trying to take food out of my families mouth by not being professional and costing us more money" (by having to hire someone else to finish the installation). He's probably feeding his family just fine with how much he's being paid per hour, but he very would could have trouble with that if he continues down the reputation-destroying path he's currently on. Tristan is likely prone to charge a good amount and do a half-ass job and then justify his incompetence. Beware.

The pipes had already been cleaned under the sink, but it turned out there was a blockage in some old pipes in the wall. He came back the next day and opened up the wall in a bedroom behind the sink in the bathroom. He was able to clean out the pipes and replace a pipe that had been corroded and ended up breaking during the auger process. Brent and his coworker worked quickly to diagnose the problem and also cleaned up everything before leaving. I was very impressed with his work ethic and thoroughness with the job, as well as his honesty regarding what needed to be done. He gives a two hour window when he is coming to allow you to plan your day and his time for scheduling is very reasonable and not far out. Sometimes same day, or a few days later, depending on the situation. I will definitely call Brent again when I have plumbing problems that need to be fixed.

Tyler originally came last week and gave me an estimate on options, describing the pros and cons of each. He was very knowledgeable and I really felt like he was honest and forthright. We ended up with two toilets, two grab bars, and repairing a broken water controller in the tub. I though it just needed to be screwed back on and asked for help with that, but it turned out a part was broken (my dad had fallen and hit it), so Tyler gave me instructions and I ran to Home Depot while they were working on the toilets. Tyler ran into a snag with one of the toilets. We've been aware from right after moving in that the builders here cut a lot of corners, and they also did that with the toilet installment. So Tyler had to work around the weird jerry-rigging done by the lousy builders, resulting in extra work and extra time. He explained the issue and showed me how he was dealing with it. In the meantime, Skyler worked on the broken water controller, discovering more damage than expected. They didn't even charge me for that word, saying since it didn't take them any more time, since Skyler worked on it while Tyler took care of the weird toilet issues. They consulted with me all along the way about how and where to install the grab bars, checking to make sure they were absolutely solid, having me look over everything and give my ok. Everything looks great. I really appreciate the professionalism and expertise of these men. Our home is a safer place, and I am so thankful. They were able to come do the job quickly (two days after I accepted the estimate). These guys will have my business in the future.

The copper lining of my outdoor spigot must have had some water in it over the winter, subsequently froze, and caused a major crack in the pipe. This spigot just so happens to be the only one available for my swamp cooler to connect to. Being without any sort of AC for any period of time during the Utah summer is a bad time, so I am glad Hot and Soft were able to finish this up quick. Shoe covers, on time, knowledgeable, and friendly. All I could ever ask for when it comes to anyone in the trades, but especially someone repairing stuff on my home.
