Only reason for the 2 stars is that this golf course has no water on course. Such a hot day and no beverage cart or ice/water containers. It's just not a safe decision for the course. Came across another couple of golfers and they couldn't find the clubhouse after the 9th hole. We have to drive all the way back to have lunch. Tanna Bar on the other hand, had great service and great food and......Ice for the back 9! One of us won $$ and one of us lost $$ on the slot machines! ;-) read more

Dissapointed. I got a reasonable price for golf outside Tanna which was the good part. At the clubhouse, when I checked in the retired gentleman I dealt with, was friendly and we had a laugh. After that I was surprised at the lack of upkeep on the course . Sand traps were hard as a rock, and never appear raked. Greens were so so, some need reseeding, and have many bare spots. Some were ok. Many course workers need retraining as they drive their equipment right near you and have the motor on, or vehicle in motion while you're trying to play. Which I think is kind of rude. If it wasn't for the people golfing, they wouldn't have a job. I think part of the problem is the entire golf course area is so huge that they don't have the money to keep up with maintenance for everything. Often, we found ourselves a long distance from one green to the next Tee box with a lot of common areas, including wildlife, and possible protected areas, and they appeared to be deteriorating , and this was all over the course. I'm thinking the course simply doesn't have the money to put into maintenance to take care of everything everywhere, so they are doing the bare minimum trying to get by. This is my first time playing the course, and the way everything's done, is my thought is .... this course was designed originally first, and then homes came along and were built on the property so they had to rearrange the course layout. There is no way somebody would've engineered this design of haphazardly placing holes. I cannot believe that. I think it was rearranged to accommodate the homes. So then, where did all the funding go from the profits of the sale of the property for... Said homes? Odd.. So honestly, I would rated it about 2 1/2 stars... but I'll be nice and give them three. Tanna Tap has a problem supporting their bands. Local management allows the kitchen staff to play music loud enough to distract from the live band. It is not well managed. The place has potential if management cared. read more

I live in the Mill Creek subdivision right next to this course, and have been golfing at this course dozens of times a summer for the previous 6 years since I moved to Geneva. Always loved the course. Today, 7/12/24, the starter (Doug) made several comments that we needed to hurry up on the first tee box when we were 7 minutes early and the group in front of us was still putting on the green in front of us. Hole 1 is a par 3. While standing right next to him, I asked him to spray my towel with the hose he had in his hand. He pointed to a bucket with dirty water in it and told me I needed to wet my towel there. The bucket is across the lot. I declined and left to the tee box, teed off and moved on with my round. Hit a great shot too despite him being an asshole. At the end of the round, me and my cartner returned the cart and pulled up next to the garbage can to empty our trash, and he was extremely rude and said we needed to return to the cart about 10 feet away to where he was still standing with his hose to spray it down. My cartner said he would and he emptied the trash first and Doug was still a total dick. The cart was returned. Doug's an asshole, and tanna farms is on blacklist for the rest of 2024. read more

Directions from hole to hole are nonexistent. The course is not well maintained at all. I doubt I will be back.

This review is for the new Tanna Tap Room just added - we stopped in Friday around 5:30 - most tables inside and outside were in use but we were able to be seated within 5 minutes. We sat outside and what a gorgeous view! We had a few beers, split the southwest chicken egg rolls and the diablo burger. Both were VERY good. I know this is a soft opening and you could tell the staff is learning but for the most part were doing a decent job. We will definitely check this place out again. read more

New Tanna Tap: I love the fact we have a spot where locals can go for food and drinks. Food is what you would expect nothing special. I would recommend beer or wine as the mixed drinks are watered down and just awful. This place could be great with a little more finesse. We will give it another shot and see how it goes. read more

The course itself is pretty fun. Cool layout and some challenging holes. The main reason for only three stars is the pace of play. No starter. I tried to make a tee time for a single (I'm fine with getting grouped up with someone else) and they said just come to the course around 11:00. Pace of play for a Tuesday is horrible at this time. Creepy man in the clubhouse named Dave. Very inappropriate. Talks poorly about where he works and what little money he makes and that they won't pay for air. Not exactly what I am interested in listening to when we come to relax and golf. Decided to share his political views when not asked and then got sassy when we didn't respond. As we left he told us to have a "blessed day" very sarcastically. Course is okay. I won't likely be back, nor will I recommend. Maybe get some employees that care and are not there to make customers feel weird. read more

Pace of play can be horrible. Played several Friday's ago with my son, the two of us finished the front nine in under 1 1/2 hours. When we came up to #13 there was a five some on the green with another five some, right behind them. There were 8 carts stacked up at the tee. We jumped ahead two holes and finished. When I told the employee in the club house what happened he said they aren't willing to pay a starter, they would rather let the golfers police themselves. I can imagine how that will go over when two over served customers get into it. On a side note, I've played here since it was a nine hole course, at one time it was scenic. The owners/management company have let it go down hill. What's with the two dead pines on the 15th green? They been this way for the past 4-5 years. They took one out three years ago but left the other two. They need to start trying to compete with the other courses in the area that are in better shape and are helping their customers have a nicer experience. read more

Went golfing with my adult son today and was disappointed with the rudeness of the staff and the condition of the course. Cart paths need total replacing, every Tee is torn up, no opportunities for refreshments at all and to say that this course is unforgiving would be kind. You had better bring a box of extra balls because every other hole has an abyss of swampy hazards and if you shank one in there you'll never find it. Not planning to ever go back. There are too many nice courses around that treat their customers with respect and dignity to ever go there again. read more

I have lived in a house on this course for 7 years and I have finally had it...rudest, most inconsiderate, lazy people I have ever come across.. For years I liked to come here & enjoy early evening golf...I roll in at 6 or 7 pm after work, depending on season & want to play till dusk...they often tell me I have to bring the cart back at a time that is well before sunset because they want to go home!?! What? Your job ends when the course closes and everywhere else I go that's dusk...not here. It's no wonder the course is empty... Today I am done with this place..its 3:15 in the afternoon. I load my clubs up & go to pay & the guy tells me the course is closed for a special event and no golf for another hour....well I see the event is over (small event, around 20 cars in lot) and no one is on the course. Not one golfer...the "workers" already have the carts locked up so the reality is they decided to get off work at 3:30pm on a Friday ...again, no wonder this course is always empty...no matter how low they go with the price the service will make it a rip off read more

This review is for a private event, one that involved no golf. Recently one of my colleagues hosted their retirement party here, and it was a great event. The employees were wonderful and kept the food coming the whole evening. The outdoor space was a perfect place for a party- there was plenty of cover for when the big storm hit- and the live band fit easily in the space. I think this place would be great for a party, and will consider it for that type of event in the future. read more

The course is in OK shape but the play is painfully slow. It took us 4:39 to play, too long for this course. It's a decent course for a public course and a good price. If we go back we'd make sure we'd play first thing in the morning. read more

While I like playing this course, the lack of amenities really hurt. No driving range. Putting green is small and has some sort of repair going on each time I am there. No water coolers and restrooms are few and far between. GPS anyone??? I do like the course, and love how they open you up on holes 1 (island green par 3) and 2 (par 5). I just can't give it more than 3 stars due to the lack of amenities. I would say it is one of the nicer "second-tier" courses in the area though. Been playing here for a while. Perhaps its COVID related but course conditions have deteriorated. Greens in poor shape, tee boxes chewed up. Very slow pace of play. No one moving people along. 4.5+ hours for 18 on the weekend. Interesting layout and fun to play if it were in better condition. read more

We asked if we could have a separate cart and they said no. Explain to them that my friend has got COPD and I have trouble walking because of a bad back and sciatica . We even offered to pay for the extra cart and they still refused. Because of what is going on with the virus we prefer separate carts. They said that one of us would just have to walk. In other words they just really didn't care. To make matters worse there were pedestrians walking on the golf course. On one occasion we had to ask a walkrr to wait until we hit our shots. And then on one hole on the Tee Box there were boys that were fishing in a pond and talking and laughing which is what they should be doing except not on a golf course. I can put up with just about anything concerning a golf course, but I won't put up with employees being jerks. Tanna usually has an older guy "Bill" (during the weekday mornings) that answers the phone and takes your money in their clubhouse. "Bill" wakes up on the wrong side of the bed every morning and no matter how nice you are to him, he comes back with mostly snide remarks. What a way to start your round! Played the course it was so wet from watering not rain that 6 holes were unplayable. The putting green is the size of my master bathroom, the restaurant was a joke we stopped in after golf and the bartender was the server and she was eating a sandwich and did not bother to wash her hands we were starving had a beer and went somewhere else so we could erase that memory. The golf course was a joke, poorly maintained. My late review is due to being asked if I wanted to play there next year and remembered that I did not write my exceptional review of our terrible experience. Fun course to play, but very gimmicky. Six par threes, including the island green first. No driving range and barley a practice green. Very short at just 6,510 from the back. Only a couple holes on the entire course you could even use driver, and 3-wood seemed too long on most as well. Used my hybrid more on this round than I ever have before. Some of the distances in the yardage book seemed marked too long as well. Overall, it's a nice looking course, in good condition, and fun to play once, but I won't be rushing back to play it. I didn't have to pay, since I used the Golf Visions Player Pass, but I would not have gotten my money's worth had I payed the $65 weekend rate. I'd put the value at $40 max. We recently played here and I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed the course. We played from the blues so that island green par three first hole was a wake up call. I normally dread courses that wind through fancy subdivisions but this one doesn't feel crowded in by the houses and I expected the worst. However the three of us managed to keep our balls within the course and out of the backyards. It's a nice layout that's challenging without being impossible for all but single handicappers. The clubhouse makes a good sandwich too. It needs many more yardage markers to keep play moving but other than that it's a nice course in good condition. read more

By far one of the best kept secrets in the area for a complete golf experience! Having just treated the greens, and a fair amount of rain lately I wasn't expecting the excellent conditions. Poor experience. A friend of mine called on Fri. to book a Sat. tee time. He was quoted $35 each with a cart. When we arrived on Sat. the employee at the pro shop asked for $45 each? We told him we were quoted $35 each and he said it is "peak time" and it's $45 and the guy who quoted $35 didn't know what he was talking about. I called and informed the GM of the course of what happened and he admitted the employees quoted wrong, but refused to give a refund or future credit for greens fees. There are just too many other courses out there that will treat their customers right and show them that they want their repeat business. As other comments have noted, no driving range and useless practice green. Course is lined with houses, and they are building more on the course. Hopefully you hit it straight, and if not, signs everywhere say you are liable for damage. It was a 90 degree day and guess what, absolutely no water on the course. Not one fountain. Even cart girl said they should be giving out free water, but nope, not even a discount. You have to pay to get a drink. Seems like that could be a liability issue. Nice course. Currently on it with my brother and 76 year old dad. Only complaint. No water out here!!!! And the cart lady evidentially made her last round at like 2:00. Called the front desk and asked about the cart girl and he confirmed that and confirmed they don't have water for the golfers on the course. It's 84 degrees today. Disappointing. Holes 10-16are "newer" additions to the course since I played it in 2007 and in my opinion adds nothing to the golf experience. The new holes are intertwined in a subdivision and is not well maintained. Additionally, on holes 10-16 there is only one porta-potty station and no water coolers. read more

For just an average golfer like me. After the 14th hole my wife and my 16-year-old son basically said we're done this is too difficult.
