Enjoyed a relaxing lunch with colleagues at T&V which is very close to my house. The service was outstanding. I was drinking APs and before I bottomed out I had a new glass. We ordered a plethora of tapas plates including bruschetta, filet with cheese polenta cake, Philly egg rolls, Ahi Tuna, Prawns, scallops with risotto, and Arancini. On a laid back Saturday afternoon not too long ago, my husband and I stopped by Tap & Vine for lunch. It's a quaint and cozy spot that appears to be lively at night. The staff was friendly, and our waitress tried her best to offer suggestions from the menu. We landed on an appetizer that was supposed to (somewhat) mirror mozzarella sticks, but were essentially not-so-tasty fried balls of rice, so-so sliders, truffle fries, 'eh' shrimp, and drinks. All in all, it was a fairly enjoyable experience, although we're not rushing to return anytime soon. read more

I've always wanted to see a dueling piano show, so when I saw they were having one during restaurant week figured perfect time to check it out. The place is a little small, it was packed on a Friday night and I was greeted right away by the friendly hostess. Whenever I try a new place I always look for the grade, I admit I wasn't overly impressed seeing a 91 but I stuck it out since it was so crowded and everyone there seemed to be enjoying themselves. I got seated and opted to order from the restaurant week menu. I got the bang bang shrimp, ribeye and brownie for dessert. The shrimp were delish, great flavor and fried to perfection. The ribeye was just ok to me, flavor was alright but I've had better. I didn't like the brownie at all, said it's served warm but it wasn't since the ice cream wasn't even melting, and it didn't taste fresh or homemade. So I really only ate a couple bites. Overall I'd go back for the shrimp and maybe try some cocktails, as well as for some more live music. read more

I've been here a couple of times over the years. They offer a chocolate dessert fondue for 2, which was the best! Strawberry's, bananas, apples, marshmallows, and rice crispies all dipped into a sweet chocolate! Definitely delicious. They were known for their Frosè but unfortunately, the past 3 times I've gone, they have never had them available. They are under new management now, so we will see if they get them back. Food is good, nothing too spectacular, but it's not bad. I've tried everything from their salads, desserts, pitas, and charcuterie boards. The place itself is very nicely decorated, cool vibes and I did see that every day they have certain events and on Fridays they have live music. They do have 2 other locations one in stonecrest and one in Quail Hollow. Nice after work vibe and recommend it. read more

Top notch! What a great place to stop in and have a drink or a meal. They have a full bar, with specials everyday. The food is excellent all the way around. The interior has an artsy and a cool vibe, and they have a well landscaped outdoor patio. I wish I would have snapped a couple of photos inside and out! The service was impeccable, and extremely knowledgeable of the menu and bar offerings. I had the filet, asparagus, and mashed potatoes with a Caesar salad and dirty martini. Unfortunately, our experience was extremely disappointing. We had a Christmas party reservation for a group of 10, and it was far from what we expected. I arrived early, but it took about five minutes for anyone to even acknowledge me. Once we were seated, we realized there was no silverware or napkins. Despite repeatedly being told they didn't have any clean, we were left to eat our appetizers with our hands. The waitress seemed overwhelmed the entire time. She took our food orders while another server handled drinks. Half of the drinks arrived, and after waiting another 20 minutes, I had to ask about the rest. When they finally came, the drinks tasted rancid--both the raspberry and blueberry drinks were off and had to be sent back. The rest of the silverware only arrived alongside half of our food. At that point, we discovered that only half of our group's orders had been placed. To make matters worse, the waitress walked out, and another staff member had to step in to salvage the situation--though only partially. My food was burnt, and after two long hours, we were more than ready to leave. We had to specifically request that the drinks be removed from the bill, and no discounts were offered for what was clearly a disaster of an evening. If it hadn't been a work event, we likely would have walked out much earlier. On top of it all, the decor was completely over the top. Sadly, we won't be returning. read more

As a customer who frequents this restaurant, I want to give a shoutout to the staff for their service last night, it was evident that they were not anticipating such a large Sunday night crowd, but the waitstaff NEVER batted an eye! Our server seemed to half be paying attention to us which might have been for the fact me and my fiancé were dressed very casual but we were simply trying to find dinner and wanted to try something new. The "short rib" honestly seemed like a roast, and definitely wasn't braised, the pork belly isn't like what's in the photos online and needed a much harder sear on the outside, and all the sauces seemed like cheap daises we could get from Walmart. The scallops didn't seem fresh at all, and the server seemed to talk down to me when I asked what meats and cheeses were on the charcuterie board and when I declined the board seemed annoyed, I was annoyed because I'm not paying $25 for pepperoni on a charcuterie board. Everything also seemed so bland that when I went to add salt I figured out the salt and pepper on the table was empty. Well, here is the thing. I know the food is the better part of this side of town. I have eaten everything on the menu. What I will say, it's not a neighborhood feel. The stuff is overly aggressive. When they aren't there, you guys are dropping the ball. Don't go there. You would be better off to hit Marios, John's place, anywhere near Sun Valley. That's not there and if you really wanna have a nice dinner, you could go up to Lionel & Pin it's a little bit of a drive but it's not In Charlotte and 's still in the south side of Weddington. The Cab was full body and aromatic which are required in my wine. The grill cheese was mouthwatering and actually had a good. Food is very underwhelming. Went there for Valentines dinner. My partner and I were severely disappointed. By the pictures I thought this would a lovely place to take my fiance to celebrate the holiday. The drinks were very watery and did not taste correct. We had to send the first round back and just gave up and drank whatever they supposedly gave us. Ok onto the important part. The food came out and wow let me tell you our rice was bland, mushy, and not cooked well. The fish turned out to be ok which is saying much and not nearly as good as even your standard chain restaurant. The chicken tasted normal but was very mushy. The vegetables didn't seem fresh and again very dry and soaked in sauce. We ate majority of it but looking at each other with blank stares. We had just finished working out few hours earlier with high expectations of this place The best part of the experience was the patio and the decor. The fire pit was nice and there were quite a few couples surrounding us celebrating the evening as well. My waitress forgot my fork and I waited about 15 minutes for her to bring one out while my date waited for me. She literally forgot me while the food was starting to turn cold. It was not overbooked and truly we both were flat out disappointed. We had 2 drinks, 1 appetizer, and two relatively normal fish/chicken course meal that cost us around $110 with tip. I've had much better meals for half the price and just as nice if not better experience Oh by the way the men's bathroom was poorly cleaned and not working. Yikes. Talk about a pure disaster. Will not becoming back to this one. I don't know how they score so highly on their reviews because at best this is a 2 star experience solely based on the decor and ambience the place brings to the table. There is outdoor seating with couches and fire pits. Great area for a girls night out. This place is definitely a vibe with the right people. The food is on the higher end and everything we had was good. We only had drinks and appetizers (calamari, roasted Brussels sprouts with balsamic glaze, truffle fries and boom boom shrimp). The fries needed a little salt but everything else was spot on. Drinks: Blueberry Martini, Queen Victoria Martini, Pumpkin Pie Martini...all delicious!!! We tried the Watermelon margaritas first but they were not good so we sent them back. Couples would love this place as well for a little date night and there were plenty solo individuals as well. I usually feel a little worried when I visit a second location of one of my favorite restaurants. My feelings were correct. When we arrived there were dirty tables and we had to wait while ours was cleaned. This location seemed to be more of a Bar. I really didn't appreciate men at the Bar dropping four letter words with me and my 8 year old daughter five feet behind them. I never heard the Bartender ask them to tone it down. I had a Salad with Blackened Chicken. Unfortunately it wasn't Blackened and I had already waited too long to send it for a Re-fire. There must have been ONE handful of lettuce in a shallow bowl. My wife and daughter split an order of Fish and Chips. Usually this dish is a couple of nice Fish Fillets with a very light batter. The fish looked like Lincoln Logs and the batter was not good. The Fries were barely warm. We didn't want to wait another 10-15 minutes to get hot food. We will continue to dine at Tap and Vine but not at this location. The manager, (Jackie??) was accommodating and very sweet. I will say our server was a bit all over the place. We had to wave her down for several items through out our visit (refills, silverware, another drink). She could've have very well been busy with other tables so no big deal. Their hours say open until 11pm, but when we arrived at 9:30 it was dead and from the service we received, it appeared all they cared about was sitting around and gossiping. We asked for waters a few times and those never came either. I wasn't expecting how little seating this place had when we arrived, and we had to wait for a little bit until a table was available. Everyone was super nice and grabbed us water while we waited. We started off with drinks; cocktails and beer. The menu had a good variety of items on it. I ordered the lobster bisque which actually had a lot of lobster in it and a spinach salad. The salad was huge and I didn't even finish the whole thing. Overall, it was a good meal but I probably wouldn't rush back.
