Today I met Walli at my local Tap Plastics location, 3011 Alvarado St, San Leandro, CA 94577. I gave him a plastic challenge and he said, wait and give me a couple of minutes. My home screen door had a plastic bar failure and he cut some stock for me. In less than 5 or maybe 10 minutes he handed me a replacement bat of exact diameter and length. Out the door, tax included $ 2.30. I was thrilled. Walli is my kinda deep man. He is gentle and firm but he knows how to talk to someone like me with honor and respect. Really cool and well-stocked store. I went here looking for some transparent shapes to aid in drawing, and got a nice collection for under $8. The employee I talked to was direct and knowledgeable, and even gave me some special wipes to use for cleaning (since most solvents will degrade plastic). Needed to make another water barrier/hood for a custom LED fixture for a Reef Tank. Will helped me the first time and Gretchen assisted me this time. Everyone seems friendly and happy AND most importantly they have a really good grasp of their products and how things are assembled. I really like this place usually except I had a very different experience with Walli than the other reviewers. I found him exceptionally hard to communicate with, slow and generally poor attitude. We had a problem - and the folks at Tap Pastics took my design and nailed the solution to a T. Our two parakeets hang out on perch near a window that has a bird feeder on the other side to see the 'outside' birds. Unfortunately, our parakeets had gotten comfortable flying to the top of our blinds and tearing the material one thread at a time. Per my suggestion I requested they create a clear plastic cover for the blind headers. I didn't expect it to look or fit that well, but we wanted to save our blinds. The end result was a very well nice fitting clear plastic cover that allowed the blinds to be fully functional and did not detrack from the nice look of the blinds. The actual solution looked and worked better than what we had imagined. read more

I walked in with questions on how to cut and design an office directory sign. Alex Chan was the first person that helped but my interaction didn't go too well with him. He mentioned that they wouldn't be able to design an office directory sign and became very rude and acted like a Mr. know it all. His tone quickly became condensing, saying I would have to bring in my own design and then lectured on how TAP Plastics doesn't guarantee customer satisfaction once the design has been submitted. I assumed he was having a bad day at work so I asked to speak to his manager. His manager was very kind, apologized for Alex's behavior and helped design the office directory. It is in the middle of an industrial area, you don't expect a retail plastics store. Regardless, they had so many things that I could use. This team is great. I waited for about 2 minutes before someone came to help me. The gentlemen were extremely helpful. They cut my acrylic right on the spot. They both wanted me to bring in the frames that these pieces were for. They measured the actual frames. Then, after cutting the pieces, tried them out on the frames.
