Tortilla Española - Slice of their Spanish omelet with egg, potatoes, onions and with a side of Spanish chorizo (Summer sausage)
    Janos J.

Yesterday after some volunteer work and a good run from Piedmont Park through the Atlanta eastside beltline trail I became hungry and stopped by Trader Joe's, while there I decided to walk around the Midtown Promenade area (this whole shopping area) I discovered Tapa Tapa, which is right next door to the Landmark Midtown Art Cinema and Apres Diem, which is directly across from Tapa Tapa. Tapa Tapa is very inviting, I like the way the bar is designed and the whole layout is well done. This is the perfect place for a night out with friends, or a date. The lighting is fairly dim and the environment is very relaxing. After I was greeted, the server brought a bowl of Spanish Olives, as some places are known for their bread sticks or rolls, here it is a mixture of Spanish Olives. Now, to be completely, honest, I have always despised olives, as a child I always picked them off my pizza, but I ate all of them here at Tapa Tapa. Hilarious, right? Now I know the only olive's I'll be eating are the ones from Spain. My appetizer was the Tortilla Española, this is also known as the Spanish omelet, which has a nice crusty shell topped with cream and Spanish paprika and served with dried Spanish chorizo, it could be described like a summer sausage and the flavour is excellent, I really loved it. Next I had the Costillas De Cordero, these are New Zealand lamb chops, which are very well known for being very tender and piquancy. The lamb is served with a Cherri Au Jus and is served with wrapped around in sautéed kale and topped with corn. For my dessert, as I was still hungry I had their Manzana Con Hinojo Y Manchego. This contains green apples (Granny Smith) mixed with fennel, cucumbers, and Manchego cheese, which is a well-known cheese from Spain and is made from Sheep milk, it has a distinctive flavour and is excellent for anyone who loves and appreciates good cheese. This salad is also topped with pomegranate seeds. They also have signs posted around that say they have a live DJ and offer hookahs. I usually always associated the hookah with the Turkish and middle eastern culture and just recently learned that due to the large mixture of other cultures coming to Spain, that now hookahs have become quite popular there as well. Overall, this place is excellent, the food is extremely good and high quality and the service was fantastic as well. If it were warmer, I'd definitely recommend eating outside as they have these really cool looking tables that appear to be made from old wine barrels. I'd highly recommend this place. [Review #216]

    Lamb tapa. So tasty!

My first time at Tapa Tapa was such an amazing experience that I had to give it 5 stars. I had zero complaints! For food, I had the Lamb and Spanish omelette tapas. Both were absolutely delicious! For drinks, I had the sangria, spicy margarita drink, and the drink of the day (don't judge me, you don't know my life! LOL). Those were just as great. Thanks to McKenzie and Britain for being very friendly, and attentive. They were the icing on the cake to an awesome visit. Thumbs up all around!

Ate the trout so fast that there was no pic lol

I'm not sure if I like Tapa Tapa more than it's sister across the way. Equally good service, but I think the bar is bigger and the restaurant lets in more light in general. We got there for happy hour and sat at the bar. Specialty drinks are pretty good, but the highlight of the meal was the bacon wrapped dates (please note that the dates are cold), but still yummy and The Lamb Chops were very good (a little salty, but we don't have an issue with that) - we should have just gotten 2-3 plates of just that. The trout special for the night was ok, but unmemorable. The only thing I would tell you to PASS on is the squid ink calamari. I love squid ink pasta and dishes like this that I've had elsewhere, but this was just a weird dish. One bite and lips and teeth were black - too much ink?? It was just a very chewy dish and just not appetizing to look at or taste. Something was definitely off with this dish. The bartender was very nice and took it off our tab, but I'm still gagging when I think of this dish. Anyway, there is plenty of parking and we actually love walking to this location in our neighborhood. We'll be back and hopefully it continues to get better over time.

I was on my way to a movie screening next door and arrived a little bit earlier before it was scheduled to begin. My stomach was on fire so I hopped on Yelp to find the quickest eatery in the neighborhood and came across this gem. It's a tapas bar which is right up my alley as I'm a huge fan of Spanish cuisine. Ordered the Frisée which is served with Endive, Pistachios and a Cranberry vinaigrette and the Prawns which was served with curry infused rice. The Prawns were too hot (temperature not spice) to eat so I had to let them cool down a bit. Definitely enjoyed them over the Frisée. Never had Frisée but it's always fun to try something new. I'll definitely be back to try more items on the menu.

This is such an expensive tapas place. Menu is limited, pricey, and have small portions. Drinks are pretty good. Atmosphere is pretty trendy. It's a good place for a new date who you might be trying to impress? Our server was helpful and funny/witty.

I came here with a friend after walking into The Independent only to be hit by a cloud of smoke. I'm so glad we did! I got the Basil Smash cocktail which was very well worth $10 and one of the best things we had ever tasted. The complimentary olives in a sort of hot marinade were very good too. We decided to split the Jamon Serrano plate (pictured) which had fruits, veg, manchego cheese and prosciutto like Spanish ham and bread. Amazing. I can't wait to try everything on the menu - drinks and food. Also, the service was great and the atmosphere was fantastic. A+++++

Good place for a date! Very quaint and classy ambiance. It was a little pricey. Drinks are ~$10-12 and tapas plates are $12-$14 (See menu). We had the Ceviche, Tuna tartrate, Calamari, and Lamb lollipops. Everything was delicious and service was awesome. Everyone was polite and friendly. I had an amazing experience. Definitely will come back! I highly recommend this piece

I liked the interior - simple, and had a good music and wine selection. The place was quite empty, I guess they just recently opened. Our waiter was very friendly and helpful. The size of tapas was alright: 2-3 can be enough. We had potatoes, Chorizo sausage and ham plate. All of the dishes were good, we only had an incident that the wine glass was dirty, but the waiter changed it without a problem.

Everything was amazing from the service to the food. The Tortilla Espanola was soo good! And you must try the lamb, it's the most delicious lamb I've had in a long time. We were visiting from Los Angeles and were very happy to find this little gem of authentic Spanish tapas.

We were at the restaurant for more than 2 hours, so we paid for the extra time. Our server (Lauren I think was her name) was decent that night, but we felt as if our drinks and food took a long time. As it was Christmas Eve, she gave us a few additional plates that we did not order for free that we thoroughly enjoyed. For starters, we all shared the meatballs, marinated olives, little gem salad and focaccia. I thoroughly enjoyed the salad and focaccia with the salad as one of our "Christmas gifts" that night. The focaccia was served with honey butter and was served warm. My husband and I shared the Margherita Royale. The dough itself had a nice chew and loved the charred bits on the crust. We also shared the charred broccoli, but was nothing to write home about - personally, would not recommend. I ordered an affogato as my dessert. I wasn't expecting the espresso and ice cream to be served separately. I just took sips of the espresso while taking spoonfuls of ice cream - this was easily shared. I do want to give a shout out to their general manager, Macy. She dropped by our table to check how we were enjoying our meal. Two people in our party has been there before to celebrate a big accomplishment and Macy remembered them! She even remembered giving them a gift that night. I think it's worth trying their food! It's in a good location on the beltline, but surrounded by businesses.

You'll go ahead and park around Ponce City Market and then it's right in the same parking lot so it's very convenient and very easy to find. Parking is not free so just keep that in mind. I think that I was there for like six hours and I paid under $12 so just be aware that it's going to be a cost but it's not that bad. Although I went during the week so maybe that had an impact on it but I'm not sure. The decor around the facility looks really good. It's very dark and rustic and a little intimate only because the ambiance is set to dark but it definitely fits. There are plenty of low lights and wine barrels around as well so that adds to the decor. You leave the bar area and go around to the back room where they have the stage at and then there are more dining room tables to sit at. Last time I went was a comedy show and actually it was pretty good so I can't have any complaints about that. They actually have a dinner menu when you're in the show area so there'll be wait staff that come around and take your order and drop off drinks as well. Now the drink situation was a bit much because it took them quite a long time for a couple of drinks. It wasn't like it was full so I'm not sure why but it could have just been a slow night at the bar so that is understandable. The drinks that came were good though so I can't take that away from them. I know everything you do there is going to be different but the show that I went to was really good. It was a comedy show. They had plenty of good comedians and they were really lively and kept the environment high. I know they have a lot of things here and I actually would go back to something else at the same facility because I had a really good time and everything was all good once you walked in the door.

All the entertainment is right there in front of you. You're just steps away from the belt line. If you like to people watch, this is for you! They have outdoor seating. A fire pit. Local spots that has live music and you can tend to hear from the patio. This is by far one of my favorite spots in the Ponce area. Let's start with the service. The service is absolutely amazing. I've never had an issue here. Got my food promptly. Always been helpful when conflicted on food options. The service here is 10 out of 10. Phemonenal customer Service, make you feel welcome. Feels like a small community of people, everyone I encoutered were super sweet from servers to bartenders. Treated me like family and I love establishments like that you can get my money ANY day! I'd like to highlight someone special: Alyssa is truly exceptional. She served as my bartender on my latest visit, and I can't say enough good things about her. I look forward to coming in whenever she's working. She's genuine, fun, and her positive energy is a gem. Turning to the cuisine, I have visited the establishment before, and the food is truly exceptional. Two standout appetizers are the Gambas al Ajillo and the garlic-forward, succulent shrimp; the accompanying bread is full of flavor and serves as an excellent introduction to the meal. The Patatas Bravas also deserve special mention--the garlic aioli, chef kiss. As a pescatarian, which is evident in many of my reviews, I cannot comment on the meat options. Nevertheless, there is a noteworthy selection of vegan and gluten-free dishes available. I sampled the Spanish grilled cheese with truffle and garlic aioli--being a fan of garlic, the generous use here was particularly appealing. This reinterpretation of a childhood favorite significantly elevated the dish. Another highlight was the scallops. Although the dish included corn (which I generally avoid), I found it delicious, nonetheless. The scallops were cooked to perfection and infused with rich flavors. The chef demonstrates considerable expertise in crafting these recipes, and I have no complaints regarding my dining experience. Now, a few of my favorite drinks--though everyone might not share the same tastes. When I visit a Spanish-style restaurant, I have my go-to options. One of my favorites is the passionfruit margarita; it's so delicious, it feels like you're on an island. Of course, my all-time favorite is the strawberry margarita--so good and flavorful. It has just the right balance of not too much lime, with a subtle hint of mint--who knew we needed that? Another top pick is the 'Dragon on Vacation.' I usually avoid spicy drinks, so I had the habanero removed, but it's still the perfect blend of dragon fruit flavor in a margarita--so good. I also love a good Paloma; I appreciate its little kick. Overall, I have no complaints about these drinks!

There was always someone yelling over another and we had to continuously ask someone to repeat themselves. They do half off bottles of wine on Wednesdays and that might've been the one thing I enjoyed. As for the food, it was also subpar. I ordered the CRISPY PIMENTON CHICKEN which was essentially a fried chicken with hot honey sauce and that was enjoyable. The caprese salad was good but my tomato's were a bit mushy. I also enjoyed a few of the potatoes brava as well but they weren't anything spectacular. My friends said the steak tasted burnt and needed less charring. I came with a friend around 7pm on a Saturday and the place wasn't too crowded. We were seated immediately. They have both inside and outdoor patio tables. The vibe was chill with music playing at a decent volume, but over the next hour the place got very crowded and the music got louder. By 9pm, the place was quite packed and we were politely asked to close out to give our table to others waiting in line. I was very surprised by the cocktails - in a good way. I was pretty hesitant looking at the cocktail menu because most of the drinks had at least one ingredient that I don't like. However, the drinks were fantastic. I got the Hot in the Shade and my friend got the Fast Idol, which were both delicious. I don't even like gin and yet my drink, which has both gin and vodka, were outstanding. I will definitely be back! It's a great spot for a chill hangout cocktail bar but definitely get there before 7:30 if you want a table.

They also open back up later in the evening closer to the weekend for the night crowd. Service is always cool and helpful although you might feel like it's the epitome of a hipster neighborhood hangout. Excited to see how this place continues growing into itself. I would love to hear some more range of music selections and the volume can be a little bit loud on the early side of the day. All in all it's a great place to check out!
