I had the need for plumbing services for a broken garbage disposal, leaky toilet, and bathroom tub/shower faucet that wasn't functioning properly. Fortunately my home warranty services covered my issues aside from a deductible. The first company that they contracted with was a plumbing company approximately 100 miles from me and with a "1" star rating on YELP and GOOGLE; multiple reviews, and many indicated that if they could leave "0" stars they would. When I contacted the insurance for a different company they assigned it to TAPCO Plumbing, a local Apple Valley company, which I've since learned is owned by a woman. I like to support minority owned business whenever possible. That being said, LOUIE PEREZ was the plumber that arrived ON TIME, and worked diligently to repair my garbage disposal, toilet, and shower/tub spout in three different rooms. Louie was awesome! He kept me apprised of what he found, what he needed to do, showing me what the source of my issues were, proved that he had repaired the problem(s), even changed a piece out on the toilet that was new but not functioning to his satisfaction when he was reviewing the final repairs with me, AND CLEANED UP AFTER HIMSELF. One simple word "THE BEST" I had 2 issues at home and this guys Vincent, Brett and Susan respond and call me right away to set the appointment, the guys help me with the 2 different incidents showing me what was the problem, how they were going to fix it and Bam! Done! I strongly recommend this company if you need any plumbing work done. My water heater gave out on us and withing just couple of days they were able to come and check it out and replace it with a new one with my insurance so I did not have to pay out of pocket. Louie was our plumer and he is very good at what he does and is very professional, clean, detailed, and has a great personality. he did not even make or leave any mess during the few hours he was at my house. Here are just the facts of my experience with TapCo: They made an appointment, which had a five hour window. I stayed home and waited. They never showed up and didn't call to let me know. We rescheduled. The second time, another five hour window, I waited and they never showed up and didn't call to let me know... a second time in a row. Mind you, Susan who manages the office was very apologetic and polite, but I did not schedule a third time with them, given their track record. read more

One guy came to my house to fix outside pressure regulator. He was supposed to come in between 12 and 4 but he never showed up. I had called the company at 4.25pm to inform about the situation. So called lead guy called me at 430 and said he will reach in 50 minutes but came at 530. The moment he came, he stated pressure regular and shut-off valve are not covered due to wear and tear. Also stated that outside shut-off valve is not covered and that he's been doing it for so long and he want $100 to fix it. When I asked him to see the shut-off valve is working or not, he said it's not his job. I asked him to call insurance and find out because I know what my plan covers or not. He said... Why are you being a je....and stopped and changed his tone. He would have been in jail if he finished that sentence. I called the insurance company and verified that shut-off valve is covered in my plan but he don't want to talk her. He wants them to call him on his mobile. Fine.... Meanwhile, he called them from inside his car windows closed and told that it was an existing issue. This guy came to my house 10 days earlier to fix another issue and I mentioned him about the pressure regulator. He told me that my coverage just started and advised me to wait for 30 days before filing any claim, else insurance will give me hard time. Points to be considered: Rude, not on time, provided false report to ORHP insurance(lied) and NO MASK. Please read other 1 star reviews before hiring anyone. Update: Cry baby called me after posting this review and said it's childish of me to post review on Yelp and lectured about honesty and integrity. Funny how a dishonest person talks about integrity and honesty. Also, he wanted to know how calling someone a jerk will put them in jail. We had a clog somewhere in our system that was backing up into one of our showers. Several companies came out to give us estimates. We were working through our Home Warranty company since we had just purchased the home. Brent from Tapco came out once and had a look, he said the repairs were beyond what he was authorized to do at the time. But, he went back to his office and they communicated with our warranty company and got authorization to do what needed to be done. Brent quickly and politely went to work. Pipes had to be cut before he could get a snake into the affected area. Within an hour he had completed the work and the drain works like new! (He also showed up EARLY! This company was recommended by my insurance on the 3rd of January to check for a leak. Just want to say that the plumber was not very knowledgeable and quite argumentative. First of all, I waited all day, carpet inside master closet ruined had to pull it out, water everywhere and he's saying there's no leak. When he arrived, his behavior was cold, like he didn't want to be at our home, so unprofessional. I hate to go back and forth with people who claim to be experts in their field but I did with this plumber because he was clueless. Too make a long story short, he insisted that our closet floor was saturated with water because the shower was missing grout so the water came from there. Explained that no one had used the shower so had could this be the cause. He left informed my insurance company that's the water was coming from people taking a shower. I sure wish that were the case. I this plumber come back out because the water was still leaking this time I took a video of it and he was still oblivious. I was tired of arguing with this person and let him think what he wanted. My insurance sent out another company who immediately found the leak both the hot and cold water pipes had leaks in our guest bathroom, which is on an adjacent wall to our closet in or bedroom. It has taken 30+ days to get this problem resolved because the leak never stopped after discovering it was the hot water line. That was rerouted but water was still present and finally the cold water line was rerouted. I was told by this plumber from TAPCO that he is always right because he's the plumber, well word of advice to you; you're not always right and you should try listening to your customers instead of arguing with them, you might learn something. Your lesson here is you lost out on a job but I wouldn't want you doing and work for me anyway. I pride myself on spending money in my town to keep our economy moving in the HD but would not recommend your service to anyone. The only reason you get a star is because you came out. Everything started off well, as this was a warranty call through First American for a leaking water heater. Call was made around noon, with Tapco dispatching on the same day. By Thursday, Vincent has been to the property three times, has accomplished absolutely nothing other than to request additional work each time, with the last time saying that he couldn't do the work, as there was mold 'everywhere'. Smelling something fishy, I drove to the property to confirm no work was done, with the warranty company indicating they now need a mold clearance based on the contractors report. But you didn't see it the first time? This guy is a liar and a thief. The tenants confirmed that he was there less than 15 minutes each time. Save yourself the grief. Cannot trust a company with an owner that lies through his teeth. read more

Tapco was contracted by our home extended warranty plan due to our hot water heater not working. Upon the first phone call, the tech questioned me for scheduling the call as urgent. I told him all I did was follow the automated systems phone prompts. Angrily he stated, well now your problem is my problem. Once the tech arrived at my home my husband was speaking with him. He asked my husband what he did for a living. My husband replied that he was a mechanic for the Air Force. The tech then became frustrated and asked him why he didn't fix it himself. My husband and I just moved into our home last week and this is our first home. My husband decided not to touch the water heater because he did not want to possibly void any warranty our extended warranty may cover. The tech then just relit the pilot light stated,"It will go out again. Call me when it does." And stormed off. Sure enough the pilot went back out within an hour. I tried contacting the tech and that was 3 days ago. The tech hasn't responded. By the way, my husband would have helped with your flat tire if you hadn't stormed off. My husband then decided to call Roto Rooter. Roto Rooter sent Ronnie out the next day. He diagnosed the unit and told us exactly what was going on. He walked us through the entire diagnosis and our options for repair. We decided to replace our unit and Ronnie came back the very next day and replaced our unit within three hours. We now have hot water after going four days without. My advice to anyone thinking of using Tapco, Save yourself time and frustration and call Roto Rooter. Ask for Ronnie, he is awesome!!!!!!! I just moved into Victorville and we had some water pressure issues at the house in our first few days there, I called my home warranty provider and they sent out Tapco to take care of the issue. My man Brent came out and he was on point and efficient with his work. He immediately inspected the issues and called it in for approval and within a couple hours we were back in business. His work was clean and great. I would definitely request them again for any future issues we might have. 5 stars for great customer service and quality or work. read more

Update on service: after getting another leak (not their fault, which im surprised at this point we havent had) we decided to re-pipe our whole house. During the re-piping we noticed exposed water lines we did not approve of and it was a challenge to get them to comply because they didnt want to cause more damage or more repairs for us. More like they did not want to do the work the right way the first and were hoping i wouldnt notice. When all work was said done a family member went to go shower and the pipes they just installed were leaking. We called right away and they came despite it being 10pm. They placed towels and sponges under the leaks and they let me know they're going out of town for the weekend and they'll be back. When he came back the following Tuesday to fix the leaks I asked for one of the pipes to be strapped down as it was moving quite a bit when turning the faucet on. He didn't have the right size to do this and said he'd be back. At this time I was notified that our re-piping put him behind schedule and not enough employees therefore had no timeline when he'd be back. After a week and a half went by with no communication we had to hire another plumber to come finish it. Weeks later due to health issues and the company's poor timeline and lack to fix the issues they caused, more issues continued to arise as more and more as we waited for a reputable drywall installation. While the drywall was being replaced he notice a pipe with a deep gouge along the side over a foot long. Not one but two. We called tapco immediately to have this resolved. They said they remember us everytime they drive by. Cant seem to remember to pick up a phone to schedule a day to finish the job. They wanted to wait until the weekend to come out but we did not need to put drywall on pause again. We settled for an afternoon 2-5pm. After calling a few times at 8pm and finally getting ahold of someone we were informed he'd be here in about 2 hrs. That came and went called again said they were on the top of the pass. He finally showed up after midnight (freeqay was clear of accidents this night) and still didn't have the parts and came back and finished after 1am. Drywall man is done and I finally get access to the bathroom that we haven't been using and surprise! Another problem. Hot water was routed to the cold side and cold water to hot side. Our experience with TAPCO, like many others, (also known as The Avila Plumbing Company) WAS A NIGHTMARE. Monday 07/02/2018, I started a claim with insurance to replace the pressure regulator in my home. Within an hour of doing so, TAPCO called to set up the appointment to check the problem out. That was the LAST of the customer service we experienced with them. When the plumber arrived the next day, he was standoffish, short, vague, everything he said he did it with a patronizing tone, and he acted like he did not want to be there. The first words out out his mouth was a sarcastic, "I've never had a complaint about high water pressure before." He checked the pressure it was a high 110 psi. My husband and I did not react to this behavior, we just wanted the regulator replaced. The plumber stated he would get the repairs approved and then call with a repair date/time. By Friday 07/06/2018 after zero returned calls, we called insurance and found that no report or auth request was ever sent to insurance. By Monday 07/09/2018, after many attempts from my insurance, the request was finally sent in, and was approved. We did not receive a phone call from the plumber, or TAPCO's office like my insurance told us we would.We finally spoke to the plumber directly and he said we would get a call from the office. At 430 pm the plumber called me and said he was outside my gait. This was without warning or any appointment. The plumber turned off water at that time. He left on several occasions to get parts, he was obviously UNPREPARED. By 11 pm the water was still off and he was still at my home! He then left and said he'd have to complete the work the next day. 07/10/2018 with again no window of time the plumber arrived, finished the job and left. When my husband checked his work, there was a LEAK! When the plumber was called, he was rude and spoke as if my husband was full of it. He said, "Put a towel there to collect the water." When asked when he would come to stop the leak he said, "I'll get to it when I get to it." This is when his behavior become unacceptable and TAPCO was called. The woman on the phone from TAPCO was very defensive and rude. She responded that "If you are afraid to have a man in your home at night then don't hire a plumber." And told me I was acting unreasonably, she continue to blame everyone else and took no responsibility for the way this claim was being handled. She never apologized and never offered to resolve the issue, instead said things like " I don't know what to tell you." "Do you want it fixed or not." I was amazed that I would be spoken to in that manner. When I asked to speak to a manager, she told me that SHE WAS THE OWNER! She also hung up on me with no indication when the leak would be fixed. That night I made a complaint to BBB, the next day before 8 am she called my husband to set up the appt for a "possible leak". 07/11/2018 The same plumber came back for the 3rd time, turned off the water again, and finished the job. He tried to leave without communicating anything to my husband. When my husband asked him to wait so he could check the leak, he refused. When my husband asked if he would bleed the pipes of air he became combative, and in a aggressive manner said, "NO, I'm out of here! What"s up with you? Are you bored? You don't have friends? Do you want me to hang out with you all day?" At that time my husband could no longer be polite and responded in kind. They had a verbal confrontation in my yard where the plumber called me a liar, and revealed that the OWNER was in fact his wife. This evening I received a response from TAPCO via the BBB. This is the exact response... "CEASE AND DESIST The BBB has no authority or designation to handle matters related to my business. Any additional slander associated with my business will be pursued in a court of law." I am writing this review with hope that others see it, and think twice before giving this company any of your business. This company is unprofessional. They lack any integrity, or communication skills. They are inefficient, and have proven to be untrustworthy. read more

Such a SWEET guy. I had a massive leak in my kitchen that finally showed itself while I was working on a remodeling project (tearing out cabinets). I ran to Lowes to get something to fix it, and I saw the TAPCO truck in the parking lot on my way out. I thought "Hey, maybe he can tell me if I bought the right tools", so I stopped and asked him. Not only did he tell me EXACTLY how to fix the problem, but he gave me the part I needed FOR FREE and talked with me for about 20 minutes in that blistering parking lot. Would give no stars if I could. This company does the bait and switch and then cries they are misunderstood and the customer is just to cheap to pay. WRONG!!! First American Warranty referred me to them and I saw the reviews. I kept an open mind when my water heater went out. Brent came out (after 2 days) and "warned" me some items would likely not be covered. I accepted that and agreed. After 2 more days of no response from them I called yester day and spoke with Vince who explained that their office person had a medical emergency and they are behind (prayers to her). I did not hear anything back until this morning when another person called to tell me that it would be almost $800 out of pocket and that my warranty company was not willing to pay for anything but the water heater (and that my warranty sucked). When I asked for a breakdoown of the items and fees being charged directly to me, vince stuttered and talked in circles and said that I must be one of those customers who don't want to pay. WRONG! I don't mind paying fair price but what will not happen is for you to think I ould blindly accept the charges that are obviiously inflated. This plumber, also the owner of this Apple Valley "fake" company, was sent to me by my Old Republic Homeowner's Insurance Policy...Old Republic is another "review" topic. When he arrived, he seemed quite uninterested in my problem, which was a noisy shower pipe in my master bedroom bath. He checked the home water pressure and then decided that the cartridge in my shower was backwards. I agreed to pay him to turn it the right way, which he did, but he seemed totally confused about the Pfister cartridge and stated that he did not see a marking indicating which way it was to go. He went ahead and placed back in the socket the way he thought it should go. Once it was reinstalled, the handle would not produce hot water. He still wanted an $80 fee for the reversal of the cartridge. I explained that I was worse off with no hot water and asked him to adjust the handle so that I'd get hot water. He became confrontational and said, "You are not going to pay me, are you?" He insisted that I give him another $20 to adjust the handle for hot water. When I refused, he packed his tools and left. I had to pay another service fee to have a plumber adjust the handle for hot water. Today this Tapco guy, I believe his name is Vincent, sent me a notice that he was going to put a mechanics lien on my home for not paying him $80. The guy is psychotic. Stay away from Tapco plumbing out of Apple Valley. Also, if you have Old Republic as a homeowner's insurance carrier, that's unfortunate. They do not cover ANYTHING plus they send out inferior techs to service your home and will not even allow you register complaints. You will get a recording that states whatever occurs is between you and the company that they sent out. What CROOKS! The owner from whom I purchased my home and the real estate agent purchased a 2-year Old Republic policy for me, but Old Republic seems to be a real JOKE and absolute rip-off. Stay away from them, too. Again, stay away from Tapco Plumbing; you'll be ripped off and have to deal with a psychotic. I it were possible I would have given this company a -1 score. read more

I called to schedule an appointment to fix leaking valves in the bathroom tub/shower and also fix a loose toilet handle that had begun to fall apart. The girl I made the appointment with over the phone was super nice and was very accommodating. Vincent arrived on time, was very polite and took a look at my shower valves and the toilet handle, then shut the water off and then started fixing the valves then the toilet handle. While fixing the leak he explained to me what was going on, he made sure to clean up along the way. He did several checks at the end to make sure things were good before he left. Brent is amazing. He showed up early and got to work right away. He is a hardworking person who is very knowledgeable and friendly. He was tasked with updating some very old piping to be suitable with a washer and dryer. This easily was a 3 man job, but Brent took on the task all by himself. He was precise, hard working and mindful that safety was paramount. When the job was done, Brent even put on some vents on the outside of the house that keep out rodents. Brent goes above and beyond for his customers and I'm happy he was the one to help me with this complex project. I would absolutely recommend Brent from TAPCO for all your plumbing needs. A waste of time. I was given this company through my home warranty company. The guy shows up in four hours and he says do you want to pay before. I said no, so he says let me make sure it's covered. I told him that it was verified before hand. He then says it is not covered so I go inside to get my phone to call and when I come back out he is in the nameless truck with the engine like he is about to leave. If he found out it wasn't covered he was just going to leave without letting me know. His attitude was very poor. He kept asking me questions about as if I know about plumbing. He had on a shirt that read Tapco Plumbing and his truck was nameless. I expect better service from the companies that are contracted with First American Home Warranty. If I can give zero stars I would, From the home insurance they sent one man from TAPCO plumber to my home to fix my leak from the shower and the man broke my handle and said they will return in a week for my handle. I noticed my shower leaking from the shower head after the job was done. After a week the plumber came to fix my handle and there was still a leak from the shower head. I call the insurance to let them know they did not finish the job. The man calls me back after speaking with the company yelling and speaking very rude to me that he will not come back to fix the leak because the insurance keep calling him! In addition he kept saying that leak was not there after they worked on it but it was. He kept yelling and hung up on me. read more

ABSOLUTELY the worst! We were assigned this company by our warranty company. We were told tech would be out in the afternoon no time frame given, so we waited. 7 hours later, tech showed up. Took pictures of the water heater leaking took, answered his phone, our money and walked away. My husband was still talking to him! Tech called me a few minutes later and told me he needed to get an authorization because we needed a new water heater. I asked why he left and he said replacing a water heater takes time. I told him we advised the warranty company and his secretary the water heater was leaking water from the bottom, and we needed a new water heater. He advised me, "if we believed every customer that thought they needed new water heaters, we would have huge voids in the day, and not make money." "I will submit my report and tell the warranty company you were not happy with my service." No, kidding! We waited all day for him to spend 5 minutes at my house to collect a trade fee and leave! This company was assigned to us from our home warranty company. I put in the request Monday night and called the number on the work request the following morning around 11am since I had not heard from them. The man who answered said yes they had received it but that she would be calling me to set up a time since that was her job for the morning. About an hour later I received a call and was told the soonest available was in 2 days but that they would get to me first thing that morning. when I told them the leak I had was a fast leak the lady said she would let the technician know but they would be there between 8-12 in 2 days. On the day of scheduled appointment - At noon I called the office to check if we were still on since no one had shown up. was informed she would check with the technician and have him call. At 1:15pm still no phone call or anyone here to do the repairs. A courtesy phone call would have been appreciated instead of being a no call no show. We have since contacted our warranty and they could not reach the company by phone but told us to go ahead and schedule with another company and they will reimburse us. read more
