We stopped in for a drink the evening before Thanksgiving and were greeted by the friendly bartender. We ordered two beers and sat at the bar. Service was great and the place filled in quite a bit behind us. Eventually we ordered the Chico Sliders that had a nice sweet heat, delicious with the fried pickle and a Reuben with fries that were nicely seasoned. I also decided to try one of the special drinks, the Rattlin Bog which was refreshing and delicious. The people next to us ordered food and it looked great. We were told to try the Mac & cheese next time. The bathrooms were very clean and well stocked. Plenty of TV's around to catch a game sometime. We'll definitely be back.

Decided to attempt another visit despite the lousy experience of the previous two times. Went superbowl night expecting a fun time. I kid you not- There were 2 people at the bar when we arrived during the first quarter. Ordered drinks. Bartender did not know how to make a Long Island, or that there was a difference between light and dark rum. After first round of drinks she left our bill, never asking if we would like another or food (which we did). Felt very unwelcome and we left.

Nice Irish bar serving up some very good pub grub. I stopped by for a quick burger around 1:15…read moreyesterday as I had an appointment and couldn't linger, I ordered a cheeseburger medium with coleslaw and a beer. My cheeseburger arrived in a matter of minutes from the kitchen delivered by the cook; It was cooked perfectly just as I had ordered and could not have been cooked any better. The burger cheese combo was juicy and flavorful on its own but with the addition of a slice of ripened tomato and onion this burger was well on its way to the cheeseburger Hall of Fame. The coleslaw was not an after thought but was nicely done too with a hearty zesty spicy tang. Good job Brennan's that was a dang good burger!

I wasn't sure what to expect walking into a pub in the middle of downtown nowhere, Massachusetts…read more It was Friday after 5pm, the streets were pretty dead (as is generally the case as I understand it), and I expected to see nothing but factory rejects of some wannabe Hell's Angels club. Yes, it was a buttock-cringing moment as I walked into the place....... ..... and then...... I noticed the very easy-on-the-eyes brunette bartender.... she was a dead-ringer for Lara Flynn Boyle, but much hotter. The crowd was a pleasant, Cheers-esque group of regulars that laughed and drank the day away. It could have been a pub in any-city USA. The great part? Among the beers on tap were the only 2 types I drink: guiness and weiss beers.... LOTS of them. AND..... the bartender was actually nice. She was totally cool. None of the yes-I-know-I-am-hot attitude you find in big-city bitches. The food was awesome too. I had a buffalo-wing salad, while my gimpy pal-recovering-from-gout had a reuben sandwhich. We were surprised to discover that the place does not serve any processed foods, and everything, despite the pub-grub stigma, was pretty damn good quality food. 2 beers, 2 large entrees set us back about $17-ish, which I thought was a miscalculation because I pretty much pay double that in the city..... and did I mention the cute bartender with no attitude? Maybe not a diamond, but perhaps a sapphire or ruby in the rough. And yes, I'll be back.

A crock of chilly and a Guinness. It was like 11:30am so it wasn't that busy , the waitress got my drink and placed my order in a reasonable time . She brought out the chilly and my Rubin at the same time, apologizing that there coming out together. I never would have ordered the chilly if I knew they were going to send them out together. My Rubin and fries ! Yes fries were ok, she messed up my order and I got fries instead of the coleslaw. My receipt said fries $2 on it , so it was the waitresses mistake . The Rubin needed a little more thousand island on it . Maybe order some extra on the side ? I took 1/2 my sandwich home and added some extra sauce , it was even better . Prices were reasonable . But for a place not too busy . A few too many mistakes . I'll be back on a Wednesday.

I've been coming to O'Brien's for lunch occasionally for many years. The place is small and…read moresometimes filled with day drinkers or folks drinking on their lunch break. The food has always been seriously hit or miss, their consistency is absolutely horrible. Perhaps it's because they go through cooks like crazy and none stay that long. I completely agree with other reviewers about glove etiquette. It's always awesome to walk by the cook smoking outside then she goes in without handwashing, then handles your food without putting on gloves. Also I agree with other reviewers about the service, if you're not a "regular" you're treated as if you're bothering them. Sue? Takes phone orders, services the counter, puts orders together, etc. she has been there for some time and she's somewhat difficult to deal with because of that. She'll let you know how important her job is, trust me on that one. Many of the guys I work with order from here too and they experience the same issues. I go to O'Briens generally as a last resort because it's quick and easy. You're WAY better off going to get food at EAT down on Page, by CRC and across the street from Gendens Auto Parts. EATS quality is by far superior as well as their safe food handling practices.
