Imagine a higher class dive bar with live music in the back and a party in the front. That was my introduction last Friday to Taps & Corks in Davenport FL. There is street parking in the front and a parking lot in the back. Inside there is a full bar including lots of craft beer options, taps, pool tables, beer pong and a juke box. Tye service was great and as the night went on, our servers got more lively. Many of the patrons were drinking heavy, but for the most part pretty well behaved. For food, I ordered buffalo wings and a 26 Oz ribeye. The wings were great and I am from Buffalo so if they weren't I would definitely let you know. As far as the steak, it was perfectly cooked. I think they use a meat thermometer because there was a hole through the middle. Oh, I didn't mention they didn't have a 26 Oz, but the did have a 16 Oz. And they gave me like a $9 credit for the difference. The steak was good though, but it want a ribeye, either a hanger or Denver steak. It was so good in fact that I really didn't care. Other things to think about when dining here is everything is ala cart, like an upscale restaurant. Thank goodness the wings came with celery and blue cheese. The steak came by itself and there was even an upcharge for sauce. I didn't mind though because the steak was good by itself. Had a good time here and I will return, maybe for happy hour Monday through Friday from 4 - 7 pm or for Karaoke Saturday or Wednesday night. read more

Definitely a bar with loud rap style music. We stood for a while before greeted and when we walked in there was a HEAVY mildew smell that was an absolute turn off. We sat down and looked at the reviews and decided to leave. The food did not look good at all + the smell was overwhelming. Hopefully the owner will step up the game. Soon as we got there, we stood around for a while because no one came to greet us. Seemed like a pretty chill night which made sense since it was a week day. The music was going and it was nice to be able to select music if you'd like to pay for it. The mojito I got was so yummy. The food I cannot say the same. The best thing I had was the "fries" which are actually wedges. Overall this place needs to revamp their menu, I think they need to remove some stuff off the and stick to bar appetizers and drinks. I feel like this place has potential but needs some adjustments. I wasn't expecting amazing mac and cheese when I ordered it but I was definitely not expecting Kraft. Very disappointing and in a disposable plate. The pretzel also on a disposable plate and it tasted like it was in the freezer for a while. When I come back it'll only be for the drinks and to enjoy the vibe. read more

Taps and Corks is an interesting place, I've been eyeing it for a while and I noticed they finally put a sign up. When you walk in its a bit confusing because I wasn't sure whether to find a seat on my own or wait for someone to approach me. It seems like more people go more for the bar rather than a restaurant. Thats not necessarily a bad thing! I do like this place as somewhere where you can hang at the bar have fun and play some pool! The food was a bit disappointing and is definitely what hurt my rating for this place. We started with the pretzel it just tasted like a frozen pretzel with a weird tasting beer sauce. I also ordered some garlic parm wings, fries and mac and cheese. When we go the mac and cheese, I was instantly disappointed because it was Kraft mac and cheese.... The french fries were actually potato wedges, which didnt taste bad but they were definitely wedges rather than fries. My wings were not bad at all but it didn't taste like I had garlic parm sauce on them. It tasted like a garlic sauce then just put a few pieces of shredded parmesan on top. And im not a person who likes my wings drenched but they lacked having enough sauce. Overall, I'd love to return to taps and corks but more so to get the good vibes at the bar and play some pool, the food has things left to be desired but as of now it feels theres a lot of work to do on that side of things. read more

Please don't come here if you want dinner. This is a bar and should have a bar food menu, not a full menu. We sat for over an hour with no appetizers or food brought out. Then when it was brought out it was inedible. The drinks are good. read more

The staff at this bar was not trained to handle difficult clients or intoxicated individuals. They escalated the situation by making a scene and engaging in a fight with the client. The bartender used disrespectful language, and servers made inappropriate remarks about the client and their intentions to have her arrested. However, this was not true; the client was not going to jail, and the bar owner is a man, not the staff member claiming be the owner. All of this happened in front of children. The doors were locked by the employee, trapping us inside the bar until the police arrived. The bar staff illegally detained the client when she wanted to leave. If anyone had brought a weapon, the situation would have been even more serious, especially since other clients were also locked up. Unfortunately, I wouldn't recommend this place anymore. read more

I really wanted to like this place. I've been there four times, and all four times have been bad. First time was during the opening, and so I gave them the benefit of the doubt that it was opening jitters. Couldn't get a drink, and when I finally attracted the attention of the bartender, he looked at me as if I had 3 eyes. All I had asked for was a beer list as they have quite a few draft beers. He handed me the list the staff was training with. Okay, not a problem, I was able to order a beer from that list, and was then told that they didn't have it. I was about to ask what they did have, but I thought better, and just ordered a Miller Lite. Second time was after a long day, and a bunch of us decided to go and grab a couple of drinks. Again, no one would pay attention to us. No particular kind of group, we were a variety of men, women, Hispanic, white, and a few colors of the rainbow. We finally got the attention of the bartender (there were two) and were able to get out drinks. When we tried to get another drink? The register was far more interesting than we were, and we stood there for 15 minutes while he figured out how to use the register. Third time was for another gathering with a group of people, all whom had not been to the bar before. Everyone was looking forward to it, but I had my hesitations as to whether or not we could get a drink. It was just the same as before. This time there were three bartenders and we still couldn't get a drink. We were not drinking fancy, we just wanted beers and maybe a mixed cocktail. I couldn't even imagine trying to get a Manhattan or something that required more than two ingredients. Once finally served the drinks after being overlooked and ignored by the fascinating register again, yes same bartender, we all sat down. It started to get busy, and I was hoping they may have gotten over their initial jitters of opening a month ago. Fourth, and final, time. We sat down at a table, figuring we could maybe get served faster. We ordered drinks and waited for our remaining party to show up. I have to say, the menu is GIGANTIC for any bar/pub/restaurant. It's also all over the place. Steaks/Protein bowl/Seafood/All sorts of burgers/Pastas/Tacos/Flatbreads/Wings/all sorts of sandwiches including avocado toast/and a variety of apps and desserts. After the rest showed up, a few of us ordered food and another round of drinks. I ordered Indian style wings. Others at the table ordered the pretzel app, loaded Tator tots (which we asked what came on them as friends on a previous visit stated they got chili on theirs when the menu doesn't say that. server verified it came with bacon, sour cream, and cheese), and the assorted nuts. The second round of drinks came out, and you could tell the draft beers, were not what we had each previously ordered. We were trying each others beers to see if maybe someone had the others, but everyone agreed that it was a different beer all together. Then the food came out, and we never saw our server again. Tator tots ($13.99) had chili, no bacon, no sour cream. My friends decided to eat the tots even though they didn't have what was supposed to be on them, and they were tasteless. I tried a bite and I have no idea how you can make chili not have a taste. Also, served in a small soup bowl. The Indian wings were not tossed in sauce, or even baked in a sauce (as the picture on the website shows), it had a drizzle of sauce that was starting to already crust on. The wings...no taste other than overcooked chicken. I ate two (out of the six $12.99), and there was no flavor at all. I put some salt and pepper on the second wing before eating it, but had to put it down because the smell of the wing was wrong. It wasn't an Indian food smell, it was an old cooked wing smell. I ended up not eating the rest for fear they may have been off. The pretzel ($12.99) was about 5 x 3 inches, basically the size of my hand. The pretzel was good, but so small for the cost, and definitely not a shareable item as you would have thought for the price. The nuts ($7.99) were fine, I'm sure out of a bag or jar. We were all a bit confused. We tried to find our server...we waited for someone to come back to the table...no one came, so two of us got up from the table and went to get another round of drinks. Once the bartender stopped talking to the other bartenders and servers who were all sitting at the bar, she asked who our server was. We didn't know, but just then she popped up from the chair and asked, "oh did you need something?". Once she brought the next round to the table she asked everyone how the food was, but by now it's too late to do anything about the food. Could I have gotten up and said something was wrong with my wings, yes. Could I have had a better experienced server, probably. Could the kitchen have perhaps not served food that was inedible and/or incorrectly made, yes. Will we be back, NO. Man, I really wanted to like this place. read more

Coming here, we knew they have only been open for a month. We came in with a group of 8. They only had one person at the bar. #1, They really need more staff. The one gal that was the waitress, did well but still has A LOT to improve on. I had the turkey, pesto panini. No chips or anything else came with it. Every side is alacarte. Good flavor, though it was cold (it was supposed to be a hot sandwich). One had steak tacos (it came out looking like ground burger), one ordered naked wings, not drumsticks-the flat wings. She got a plate full of drum sticks. Good flavors! Two had the Philly cheesesteak. Good flavor. One had chicken tacos. Good flavor. One ordered soup, which was good. One ordered Avocado toast...this took the longest to come out. Literally, everyone else was done with their meals before she got her order. Drinks took forever to get. Myself and another lady in our group went to the bar to get our tables drinks. No discount on anything. The place was clean, had great ambiance! Great bathrooms! Once they get in the groove, get more staff and get their poops in a group...they hopefully will do better. read more

Came for the first time after hearing about Music Bingo. I have to agree with other reviewers who have commented on the lack of service in a timely manner. It took 20 minutes to get 2 drinks, and that was before the crowds started to show. Meal delivery was about the same, three meals came and we were informed that the other person's meal couldn't be made because they were out of the protein bowls. It took another ten minutes to get silverware. Only commenting on the food I tried personally -- the mushroom burger and fries were top notch. The loaded tater tots were a hodge podge of toppings, that didn't match what was listed on the menu. We think they added chili as well? Decided to try this place despite the reviews. Learn from my mistake- the reviews are all correct. I ordered steak tacos to go and did not realize until I got all the way home that they had given me chicken tacos. I called and requested they remake my correct order while I drive back and the person on the other line was extremely dismissive and rude. It took four times for them to even answer the phone. I showed back up, hoping to pick up my correct order and the person working had no idea there was an issue turns out the phone number that I called belongs to the owner who is not even at the restaurant and he never called the restaurant to let them know I had an issue so I had to wait 20 minutes for them to remake my food. They offered me a five dollar off coupon as an apology, but I turned it down since I will not be back. Between drive time, waiting for the food, driving home, waiting for the food again, this has been over an hour of my day wasted. Not amused. *** follow up- got back home and my order STILL wasnt right. Great place to meet and have a meal and a drink. They took an old building and renovated it, turn it into a nice place

We were in there for a bit over an hour. For a Philly cheesesteak and an 8 ounce steak. It took over 30 minutes to get just that. There were only 4 other guests that were there. Our food still took that long to come even though 2 of those guests already had their food. The other 2 were drinking at the bar. We debated multiple times leaving but we were pressed for time and already ordered. The "chips" they provide with the cheesesteak are just regular bag chips and they gave us like 10 chips out of whatever bag it came from. We would've just walked to the gas station across and grabbed a bigger bag of chips had they told us that's what we were going to get. Cooking an 8 ounce steak does not take 30 mins especially when the restaurant is empty. The food also was not that good. It was mid but my boyfriend however did love the bread for the cheesesteak.
