We stopped in for a quick lunch and were quickly sat and ordered drinks and some food. The service was fantastic but the food wasn't the best. I had the grilled angus carne asada and the molè just wasn't impressive and honestly ruined the dish for me. I also found a ton of lettuce in my rice which was extremely odd since I requested no lettuce or pico. The churros were delicious but the chocolate dipping sauce had a odd flavor. Not sure I'd be back being we have so many other great taco establishments here in SLC. I'd say this was a basic chain experience at best. read more

While shopping at Fashion Place we decided to have lunch before shopping. There were six of us and upon arriving, the restaurant was fairly empty. We were seated and waited a good five minutes before anyone asked for our drink order. Another five minutes before we received our drinks and then a long break before she came back to take our order and then close to a half hour before actually receiving our meal. The food was excellent and surprisingly it was hot. This is the second time we've been at this location and each time the service was way below par. We won't be back very soon because of the service. I just love this place! And after the Corona reopening, I love it even more. I am a huge fan of places treating this threat seriously. This is the second time we've been in since reopening and everything was just as good as the 1st. Yesterday, they are even getting your contact information so that if anyone in the restaurant tests positive they can reach out and let us know. I'm not sure why everyone isn't doing contact tracing right now. The menus are QR codes... which any more, I'm not sure why we really need dirty menus anyway. On to the food... My wife and I tried this new restaurant at Fashion Place Mall for the 1st time on 12/16/17. Our server did her best to introduce us to the "favorites." We ordered the Citrus Tacos which we mostly enjoyed. They did lack flavor, so I used my mole sauce. After we finished most of our meal the waitress returned with 3 house made salsas intended for our tacos. She apologized for forgetting them which wasn't a big deal. The only thing she asked for was the name of our waitress. I indicated she could still do something to make us want to come back. Her response was an awkward laugh giving us no appreciation for valuable feedback to improve service and retain first-time patrons. It is very convenient to come here if you're hungry and shopping. Prices make sense for gourmet tacos. My friend and I went here after I got off work around 4:30 and it was perfect timing. Our server was attentive at the beginning until it started getting busy. He went over the specials of the day and we got both of them. Swordfish and I forgot the other! My friend also had the duck confet which had some green garnish on it but felt like fake plastic. I just took it off when I tried it. Oh and another thing, tacos come in two. No mix-matching. We sat outside. The service was terrible! Our waiter checked on us once to refill our water with warm water. When I asked for ice he said sure but never came back. After 15 minutes we asked someone else for ice and got it right away. 10 minutes after that our server showed up with ice and our check. It was 85 outside. Cold water should have been obvious. But the reason why I gave it a 1 star was simply because the Price's are a little OUTRAGES for what you get. You're paying $6.75 for two tacos. Anywhere else that prices comes with beans and rice and a drink sometimes. You can pay an extra $2 bucks for rice and beans each. So that's 6.75 plus $4 no drink. I was at FP Mall and this was the perfect place to unwind after a stressful shopping day. We walked around and around and couldn't find the Forever 21 which this restaurant is supposed to be next to. So it's easiest to enter from the outside by the Container Store. Once we got there the service was really friendly and prompt. I had to try their melon spicy margarita. It was only $7 and it's the first time I've felt buzzy after a drink in Utah so their tequila must be legit. I had to wear off the buzz so Kiddo and I shared the duck confit quesadilla and chips. They were both really good. I would classify this place as neuveau Mexican. I had the guacamole another time and it was terrific. I would be back for drinks for sure. read more

T27 is consistently my favorite Mexican restaurant. It's not heavy like a La Puente/La Frontera-type place, and they have great daily specials. You can see the daily specials by following their Instagram feed. Lately I've been coming to the Fashion Place location, but Holladay, Foothill and Downtown are also great. Firstly, we love coming here. The atmosphere is great and the food always comes out hot and delicious. The dishes are always creative and the portions are perfect - I never have to worry if I'm going to be able to eat it al or not. The main issue I have is that there are no baby changing stations in your bathrooms. As a new mom with a baby, I want to be able to go out to eat and not worry about where or how I'm going to change my daughter. I know they're not always pleasing to the design, but it beats having to change my daughter on my lap (which, is hard) or go back to the car which isn't a fun experience for anyone. read more

Worst service I've ever had at a restaurant. To be fair, the server had at least 8 tables of 4 or more. We ordered some guacamole with our drinks and it took 30 MINUTES to get the guacamole. Our server was completely overwhelmed and was terrible at multi tasking. We never got refills, and one of our people ended up having to leave because the food was taking so long. The large guacamole was quite tiny. The food was bland. We spent an hour and fifteen minutes waiting for food. Will never be back. read more

This is a cute little restaurant. Josh was our waiter. He was nice, welcoming, and took time to explain the menu. They have 5 different kinds of guacamole! We ordered the mango guacamole, some chips and salsa (I like salsa and Craig likes guacamole), and 3 kinds of tacos: fried fish of the day, citrus pork carnitas, and steak (taco of the day). We just got water. The guacamole was good, and spicy, with chunks of fresh mango in it. The salsa was good too. The chips were thin, and nicely crispy. They were so nice and split up the tacos for us, putting one of each one each plate. We appreciated that we didn't have to do that part. The fish tacos were the best, the steak a close second (tender and lean meat), and the pork coming in last. But they were all good, and I would have them again. I liked the rice and beans, more than I expected I would. I didn't expect to be charged an extra $4 for the rice and beans. When he suggested dessert I was sure I would decline, but the way he described the cheesecake I had to try it. We stuck around for it. This covid business is real tough went it's hot out. So we had to wait outside until our table was ready, and when it's 100 outside, it's pretty miserable to wait in the sun in a mask. But oh well. When I heard about this place and its menu, I was dying to eat here. Well, I finally had the opportunity to try it tonight and I was sorely disappointed. My husband and I have this thing where we can tell how good a place is just by trying their chips and salsa so we ordered the crudo and verde salsas. They had flavor at the very beginning and then fell flat. NO depth of flavor whatsoever. I then ordered the duck confit and the pork belly tacos while my husband ordered the carne asadas and the carnitas. Needless to say, we were underwhelmed. The waiter brought me my pork belly tacos and then the Brent tacos which I didn't order. I was going to let him know but I didn't want to wait forever again for my tacos so I decided to stick with the Brent tacos. They were burnt and chewy with next to no flavor. Bummer! The pork belly tacos were okay but it felt more like I was eating a sandwich rather than a taco. My husband didn't even finish his carne asada tacos because of the lack of flavor. LOL and lastly, we pay our bill and our waiter leaves my husbands card by the card reader instead of returning it back to us. We had to wait just to get our waiters attention so we could get our card back. Maybe it was a rough night for our waiter but that along with the food was not an incredible experience. Sadly, the only item we really enjoyed here was my toddlers kids meal quesadilla.
