This was the worst dining experience I have had in a very long time. Bizarre, and terrible service. We were seated within 5 min which was awesome, but then waited 20 min for our server to show up to take our drink order- after tracking down the hostess and another server to find the server for our section. By that time, we were ready to order food of course. Waters, tacos, and we asked for the kid's meal to come out with an appetizer order for guacamole. Not a super difficult order. Since so much time had initially passed, my toddler was antsy so I walked her around outside. 30 more minutes pass without our drink order, appetizer or kid's order. The sever then walks over and ASKS US WHAT OUR DRINK ORDER WAS?! At that point we got up to leave, because in our minds there was no way our food could be in if she forgot to bring us WATER. The manager came over, not a kind lady. Told us the food was coming and to wait, and that they were having issues with that server. No apology or anything. We sat down, and our cold to the touch food came out. The guacamole was brown, and everything looked like it had been sitting in the back. The food was inedible, and we went to Shake Shack after, because we didn't finish our food. We had to ask (BEG) for a comp. on the guacamole because it was initially denied. When we went to pay, the server selected a 25% tip for herself on our 60$ bill- extremely bizarre as she stood there smiling waiting for our tip. I've been to the Traverse mt. Location and it was great, which is why we tried this location. God awful service and management. I would NOT recommend. We are never going back to any location. read more

I really like this place. The off the wall taco choices and drinks make me happy every time. We've been here a number of times and it's always good. And the people watching is top notch. On our last visit it started raining and the people on the patio had to run inside. Then we overhead another table say, "we need to leave before the roads get to wet!" Too late, it was a monsoon. I have been to this particular restaurant numerous times and every time I go I love this place even more. Each time I go I have gotten the TOD Taco of the Day! It has not disappointed. Beautiful space. First time to this location. Service was painfully slow this visit. One training server on the floor at 6 pm on Wednesday. Food was great like other location. Try the jalapeño cream beer. Avoid the sangria margarita ( not sure what the exact name is). Served flat , no ice? Guacamole is always the best part. We will be back. read more

I have heard so much about this place and was super excited to check it out! Maybe it was just this location but the place is really boring and so is the food. Our server was attentive until the tables started to fill up and then he was scarce. The bathroom was dirty but the hostesses where just hanging out. This review is in regards to the service rather than the food - the food is great, you'll just have to put up with horrible, misleading service. My wife and I wanted a quick bite + drink before shopping and decided on Taqueria 27. As we walked in, I asked the hostess, Hannah, about the 'Margarita of the Day' to which she gave completely false information. I'm sorry, but if you don't know the answer to my question, I won't be mad if you admit it and find out the correct answer for me. I'd rather wait one minute for the correct answer than receive total BS. For reference, the 'Grand Cadillac Margarita' is the subject of my question to which I asked how much it cost and what ingredients it had. Not only did she lie about the price (she said $7, yet it showed up as $10 on the bill), she claimed the Grand Cadillac is a brand of tequila...........spoiler alert, that's not a thing. Our server, Lester, was pleasant and apologetic about the situation when I brought up the price when we received the bill. However, not only did they not honor the price of the lying hostess, she clearly went into hiding after he had a conversation with her about the price. Again, I'm sorry ya'll lost two customers because you couldn't be held responsible for your mistake and correct my issue. I guess I should know better than to ask a hostess any menu-related questions before eating at a restaurant. I would not recommend Taqueria 27 to any family or friends - I'll be happily taking my business elsewhere. read more

Nothing here is authentic, nothing was spicy, the rice is seasoned with pepper. I'm a vegetarian and I love tacos but their veggie grilled taco were nasty, they had grapefruit and radishes in them the beans tasted canned. High price for less than plain food. Ugh. This was a bad one. I've been going to T27 since they opened the Foothill location and it has always been one one of my favorites. We would take family to there when they came in from out of town, and I would recommend this place to people that wanted good fancy tacos. We would go to the Holiday location when it opened, and although I thought the foothill location was better, the Holiday location wasn't bad. The downtown location opened and me and my friends LOVED having a quick/good dinner spot prior to having a night on the town. So, me and my lady were going to meet a couple of our friends at this Fashion Place T27, and our friends arrived first. They told us when they got there, with only a half a dozen tables in the restaurant for dinner, it still took forever to get seated. Just, nobody came to greet or seat them. The husband went to the bathroom and came back and his wife was still just standing there, waiting. They did eventually get seated right before my lady and I arrived. Ok, that's not enough to warrant a bad meal. So, my lady and me arrive, we order a guac appetizer, look over the menu and places their orders. Everybody else got tacos and I try the molé. Our food took FOREVER to come out. Easily, more than half an hour. We finished our guac, got a side of chips to chew on, finished that, run out of things to talk about, start playing on our phones, and get another side of chips. The food finally comes out and sorry to say, it just wasn't good. My girl got the fish of the day and the beet tacos. The fish was VERY dry and the beet tacos were underwhelming. My molé was overly aromatic/fragrant. I mean, I typically love herbs and spices even more than the next guy, but this was WAY out of balance. So, trying to make the most out of a crappy situation, all four of us are thinking, lets drown this stuff in hot sauce. T27 has some really good sauces, so lets ask our waiter for some and get through this meal. Too bad he was nowhere to be found. We literally sat there for 5 minutes waiting, and right when I was about to get up and walk up to the kitchen area to ask for our sauce, we saw him. He ran over, we asked for our sauce, and it took another +5 minutes for us to get hot sauce. I mean, we were looking at him stand over by the food prep area talking, and we're sitting there waiting while our food is getting cold. The sauce eventually came out and we powered through our food. Our bill came out and we paid it, but this meal was SO BAD, that not only am I never coming back to this location, but they've lost my endorsement for all their other locations as well. read more

Interesting and confusing take on southwest cuisine. While the food is plentiful and the service friendly and attentive... but slow, spices and flavoring are non existent. Very creative approach to tacos, but tasteless. No salt or seasoning on any of the tables. Salsa and salsa Fresca very bland. First time I have known of biodegradable plastic like drinking straws. Two thumbs up for environmental awareness. My daughter loves the place and it was on her recommend that we dined there. But I don't plan on returning. I love T27, but this location doesn't match up with the Downtown and Holladay locations, both of which have excellent service and are consistent in their preparation. The service here isn't very good, but it's better than the Foothill location. The food is a notch below Downtown, Holladay, and Foothill. The guacamole is wildly inconsistent -- the guac on our most recent trip lacked any salt whatsoever, was the smallest portion I've ever seen, and about a third of the small pile was taken up by a very large piece of lettuce of some sort (looked like butter leaf?). It was very off putting. The grilled fish was over grilled, and the fried fish was dripping with oil. While I give Foothill a single star because the service has become so awful, I give Downtown and Holladay five stars--they're great all the way around. Fashion Place is more in the 2.5 range--I'll continue to visit and adjust as necessary, but if you want a guaranteed good experience at T27, head Downtown or to Holladay. read more

Recommended by my wife who visited and said the best guacamole she's had. Doing some post Christmas returns at the mall and it sounded great! We walk in to open tables, no one waiting in front of us? Quick seating? No.. no host for a couple of minutes and as he comes walking out of the kitchen the phone rings? So instead of asking to please hold and seat people waiting he (Jacob)takes the order? Then reads the specials on the board and returns to the kitchen? He ( Jacob) returns and takes a second call..at this point I'm wondering if I and my wife are invisible. All this taking 10-12 minutes...enough!!once he decided to take the second call.. enough!! We are foodies and great tippers but not here! Maybe better training might help. Jacob was not even willing to make eye contact or ask "I'll be right with you." To bad really wanted to try the guacamole... but didn't want to wait..may still be waiting for Jacob. We had three different tacos and they kept getting better. The prices were reasonable for the food. The margaritas on the other hand were sent back. On the menu it showed all fresh ingredients and when they were served it was a pink color, the waiter said it was the margarita mix but it was not listed on the menu. Wow!! Amazing customer service!! I placed my order online! I am in a wheelchair and I called and asked if I could have someone run my food out to my car when it was ready! They said they'd be happy too. I told them I was already out there so whenever they were ready. Josh came out immediate and brought my drink and then told me he'd be back out once my food was ready! Overpriced, soggy tacos and you don't even get complimentary chips. Plus the service left so much to be desired. It took almost 30 minutes for our food to arrive and there were only four of us with 3 of us getting 2 tacos each. Mine were so soggy the small amount of filling there was fell through the tortillas. Awesome. And then there was our server. Yikes. He confused our orders with one another and even re-arranged two of our orders after we had correctly placed them with the person who ordered it. He tried charging me for thier house margarita that I didn't order (I just had water), and if all that wasn't enough to make you hate this experience, the said margarita was supposed to be $7 because it was their" Rita of the day" but he charged me $10. For a drink that I never ordered. And he charged my friends only $7 for the exact same drink... what the actual what?? Great tacos, great prices. I think there side dishes need a little work. I got the pinto beans and they tasted pretty generic, not special about them. I've been here twice once for brunch and once for dinner on a Friday night. The meat in the tacos we had for brunch tasted fresh and delicious and the meat in our tacos at dinner.. they were still tasty but the meat was a little dry. I will continue eating at this restaurant but I hope they can improve their side dishes. read more

We haven't been out nearly at all during COVID. Taqueria 27, we'll be regulars. Started with chips and chipotle and verde salsa. Side salad with chipotle ranch, then orders of Chile-Citrus Carnitas tacos and Fish Tacos of the Day (mahi mahi). Our server Josh brought my five-alarm hot sauce lovin' wife a sampler of different hot sauces. What an explosion of flavors today! read more
