I used to love this place but 2 orders of Tacos and the guy says $35 my jaw almost hit the floor ... not only that the man making my tacos came from hanging out outside and I'm saying to myself is he drunk ??? 5/9/24 Corner triangle shaped restaurant. Really, you can call it a hole in the wall. There are a few chairs and a countertop facing the window. But don't they say not to judge a book by its cover? Well, it applies here! 4 tacos for $14, choice of 2 meats Chorizo - meh, too smoky. I felt like I was eating charcoal... Cuerito - soft but still firm, I actually prefer this one over the Los Amigos one Carne Enchilada - hubby loved it Buche - this was good, only complaint is the pieces were too big, 1 bite I had to slurp it like eating noodles LOL Sandia - definitely real watermelon pulverized to juice, no added sugar The menu online had more choices of meat than the overhead board. Hubby asked if that was all the choices? They said yes. So hubby ordered. After we ate and as he was thanking them for good tacos, he mentioned that he was looking for Seso, Trompa, Ojos y Cachete. They showed him all of those! *sigh. Told hubby next time just ask in case they don't advertise it. After doing some shopping at Jersey garden mall in Elizabeth. I was starving and wanted to eat something that wasn't from the food court at the mall. Me , being the foodie I am. I decided to go on a foodie adventure to find some birria tacos. I came across this place in the heart of Elizabeth. 10 minutes away from the mall. The place is small but you can sit and eat your food there. I wanted the whole experience , so I did just that lol. Place looked clean, person at the counter greeted me and was nice. I went on a Wednesday afternoon. There was just one person sitting there eating. I ordered my Birria Tacos and waited patiently lol. I was so excited to try these. When the food was brought to the table, I thought how beautiful and yummy does this look... (pictures below) The tacos were absolutely delicious. They give u 4. Most places give 3 , so that's a plus right there lol. I personally love the amount of cilantro and onions that were on top of the tacos. The meat was so tender and flavorful. The consume.. just makes it that much better. It was definitely a mouthgasm moment lol! Going back most likely on the weekend!! Definitely recommend this spot. I always love supporting small businesses like this one. Things to know.. -You have to park in the street. Pay the meter. (I went during the week, not sure about the weekend and if you have to pay the meter ) -They take Apple Pay and cards -I paid $20, W/tip included (although it's optional) & a drink. Tacos so good you begin thinking about life. In all seriousness thought the Al pastor were BOMB. Bistek meat was slightly well done for my preference but not complaining one bit. Will need to try carnitas next time as I heard they are the best. Don't forget to ask for a side of green sauce and sautéed cactus & onions. All in all worth the 15 min drive. read more

Great, No frills , Straight forward Taco spot Very popular with the local Mexicans. The carnitas & Suadero tacos are very good . All on handmade tortillas. They come 4 in an order (9$) are they do not skimp on the filling. "Con Todo" comes eith cilantro & onions. Outstanding!!! I like to consider myself a taco aficionado and these are among the best in the area. When I got there the lady was making the masa for the tortillas by hand, shaping them and putting them right on the grill. I had the al pastor, carnitas and suadero tacos, 2 to each order, $4 per order...insane. The meat on each taco was overflowing, tender and flavorful topped with the traditional raw white onion, cilantro and wedges of lime. The al pastor also had strips of pineapple. The place is a true hole in the wall with just a long counter and chairs that are way too low to sit in (at least for a shorty like me) They only serve tacos with about 8 different types from carnitas to brain. Yes you read that right. You'll be doing yourself a real disservice if you get turned off and leave. read more

This is one of the best tacos places in the area. It compares to the food trucks of the west coast. The location is just off Main Street. It is a narrow restaurant. A few chair along the wall to sit. It can be tightly squeezed during covid. A few tables outside also. The food was great. Large portions and reasonably priced. Loved their green sauce. I ordered the Oreja and Bistec and I didn't really enjoy either of them. Tasted bland, I had to dup the whole red and green sauce which were really good. Just WOW. This place is fantastic. Possibly the best tacos I have had on the east coast. Went in over the weekend, so I was able to snag some al pastor tacos that were, frankly, life changing. The carnitas, steak, and chicken are also amazing. Made to order tortillas and unbelievable red and green sauces gild the Lilly. I've been a fan of this little hole in the wall since the mid-late 90's. And the reason why is because there is no taqueria in north jersey that serves scrumptious authentic D.F. "chilango" tacos like this place. In my opinion, the key to their success is the meat, fresh tortillas and salsas. Addicting! The classic hole-in-the-wall with some insane eats. No way to describe it other than to try it.

Great authentic Mexican style tacos with freshly made and pressed tortillas topped with delicious cilantro and chopped onions. You can actually watch them make your tacos from the counter area! They have two salsas - red and green (rojo y verde) and both are great on top of any type of meat that you choose. The bistek - cabeza - chile enchildas - carnitas - are great but my absolute favorite is AL PASTOR which they only have on weekends! Spanish is the predominant language in there but i'm sure someone in there speaks english too! They are very nice people and they provide quick service! They have delivery at this Monroe St. location and they are also open til midnight which is awesome! Same great flavor at 1pm in the afternoon as 11:45pm at night before closing! I suggest ordering and taking the food to go seeing as there is not much counter space to eat at because it is a small place. They have sodas, juices, and water in refrigerators too. ALSO THEY HAVE NOPALES AND LITTLE WHITE ONIONS TOO as a little side order to go with the tacos! I crave these tacos alllllll the time now because they are soooo mouth-watering delicious!
