We started with chips and roja salsa, which for about $4.50 was a complete steal. Warm, perfectly salted chips with flavorful delicious salsa with the perfect amount of heat. For my meal I opted for 2 birria tacos which were legitimately the best I've ever had! Tender, scrumptious meat in hot cheesy tortillas served alongside mouthwatering consumé. My wife opted for 1 carnitas taco and 1 al pastor taco and couldn't decide which was better! I CAN'T WAIT TO RETURN! We may make this a weekly occurrence! Warm, welcoming service and flavorful food--what more could you ask for? I was greeted with genuine friendliness when I arrived, which instantly set a positive tone. I hadn't decided what to order and didn't have my reading glasses, so I put my trust in Franco's recommendations. He suggested three soft tacos--Birria, Carne Asada, and Fish?--and I'm glad I listened. When the food arrived, Franco took the time to walk me through each taco and its accompanying dipping sauces. His attention to detail was impressive and made the experience even more enjoyable. The service? Exceptional. The food? Delicious. The price? Surprisingly reasonable. Formerly Fitchburg Diner & Barb's Riverside Café, Taqueria Central has finally opened for business in the western end of Fitchburg. This fast casual Mexican eatery was redone inside with new flooring, painted green walls, new trim, bar seating, table and booth seating. They serve up a variety of tacos, birria tacos, burritos, quesadillas, chile relleno, taquitos, tamales, chips & salsa, elote, desserts, Mexican Coke, and Jarritos. The bar offers a selection of beer, cocktails, margaritas, and tequila. The pricing seems reasonable. I placed an online order through the Spoton platform. I ordered Baja Fish Tacos (3 for $12 plus tax) and Steak Sopes ($5 plus tax). My order was ready to go in 10 minutes. I enjoyed my food back at the vehicle since it was warm and sunny outside. The fish tacos had deep fried haddock pieces, topped with shredded cabbage, chipotle mayo, sliced avocado, and lime in warm soft corn tortillas. The sope had a firm fried masa, topped with refried beans, lettuce, queso fresco, sour cream, and tender pieces of grilled steak. The food was very tasty and had great flavors. I would definitely order the same food again, but I can't wait to get the birria tacos next time! read more

Everything was superb, I rank this place amongst the absolute best Taquerias on the Eastern seaboard. In particular, the tacos de carne asada and the tacos de chicharron are absolutely delicious. Some of the best tacos I have had in America ant their classic burrito was the best I have ever had and the side of sauce made it even better. Unfortunately they are 45 minutes from home but it might be worth the drive. Don't miss out on the pork rind tacos, which is the best of the bunch. Super delicious, fresh food! Last time I went I got the chilaquiles, absolutely amazing I still think about how good they were. Last night we got the elote corn, guacamole, chile relleno with pollo, fish tacos and shrimp tacos. The chips for the guacamole were toasty and hot, the guacamole was super delicious. The shrimp were plump and juicy and perfectly cooked, the fish was crispy and everything was super flavorful and delicious. I love the chile relleno, it was stuffed with cheese and tasted like a magical cloud. Every time we go somewhere else for tacos I regret not going to taqueria central, they will definitely be our go to from now on. read more

Stopped her on a whim--I was hungry and it said taqueria. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The exterior was nothing special; neither were the booths and table when you walk in.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]The bar was impressive though, and the man who appeared to be the owner welcome me and invited me to have a seat.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] He also made a mean drink- a specialty cocktail that was delicious. After a few minutes my order came out: a "classic" chicken burrito. Hot off the grill, toasted nicely, and neatly packed into a warm tortilla. It was great! Plated without any frills, just the burrito cut in half with a nice slanted cut. Seems that salsa might have been an extra fee. The man was busy but I might suggest offering some chips and salsa or something else to go with it. I think I stuck out as the others there looked like regulars who know authentic Mexican food.
