As I was driving through Blue Island, i asked my friend if he could recommend me a good place to eat tacos and he said that there were no place like that in BI but i didn't gave up in my search for good tacos. Minutes later he texted me by delivering some good news with a location, he said and i quote, "You should try this place out is the best so far". Birrieria Loreto Zacatecas located in Blue Island is one of those places you will miss if you are not looking specially because is right next to other food establishments. I came in early in the morning, so i can have the freshness of everything. I was able to sit down right away and i was greeted by the friendly staff. I place my usual order when it comes to new restaurants. I got myself two steak tacos with everything and a glass bottle of a really cold Mexican Coke. They brought to my table green and red salsa and some chips to start my meal, but once my tacos arrived it was just perfection. Each taco came with two tortillas and a perfectly amount of meat with the perfect ratio of cilantro and onions. Everything came together once i added the salsa. Overall, everything was amazing from the price to the meal. My journey continues looking for the best tacos around the city and the tacos from Birrieria Loreto Zacatecas were delicious. read more

Placed an order to go for steak and chicken tacos and steak burrito. I was greeted upon entry and order was taken. I was able to sit while waiting for my food. It's raining reasonably priced and prepared right away. The salsas complimented the food well. You get good portions of meat and the veggies are fresh. Tortillas were good quality as well read more

A couple years ago, this restaurant used to have very delicious food, but as of my visit on Sunday. My satisfaction was no where to be found. I literally spent close to $120 since prices for this place is pretty up there, when I tasted the consume, aka the barbacoa broth it tasted very bitter to the point my tongue felt weird, which only meant it was sitting out in their kitchen for a while, it was spoiled. But what really had me disgusted with this place was the cockroach by their door, i at first glance thought it was a silverfish but upon further inspection with my phone's camera it verified it was indeed a cockroach. Still a Wonderful place for Birria, pork and steak Soups, Tacos, Burritos. My go to is Goat Tacos onions with cilantro. My daughter is Burrito she try Goat (WOW). LOVE how they chop it up fine and well Seasoned. Small place in a Strip mall. The drinks were Mexican sodas or Horochata and Lemonade can't forget Coke. The Tacos are small but Full of Favor total yummy and Burritos (cheese, lettuce, tomatoes , onions,cilantro. I did a pickup and when I get there wish I had ordered the Soup. This little gem is located on a strip mall. I drove past it several times until I finally found it and I was blown away. The owner is very friendly and treated me as soon as I walked through the door. There's a young lady at the counter who took my order and she was very polite. I order one chicken taco and one steak taco with everything. I devoured the steak taco instantly. The steak is well seasoned and it seems to melt in your mouth. The chicken taco was very fresh and you can tell the difference with real chicken verses processed. The young lady brought out chips and two different sauces. The green sauce is more of a mild and the red is like deadly hot so take caution if you like spicy sauces. But if you like fresh ingredients, a friendly staff, with excellent authentic Mexican food then this is the place for you. read more

If I could give the place zero stars I would. This place is dirty and infested with roaches. I've been wanting to give them a try for a few months now & the one time I catch them open I place my order and as I'm giving the lady my card a HUGE roach crawled across the counter. She just flicked it away like nothing. When I asked for a refund she called her "manager" who was in the bathroom and you could tell he was wasted. This place is disgusting. Absolutely horrible!!!! Absoluetly impossible to get the staff to understand what you want. They also have you pay with zelle. After i received my order i had to return because they made my order wrong. I took one bite of the food and had to spit it out. All of it went went into the trash. This just became my new favorite taco spot in the nearby area. I craved tacos & I randomly came across this place as its hard to find good tacos on the far south side. I just wanted some steak tacos and let me tell you, it was worth discovering this place. Authentic taste & salsas, and very fresh. I was greedy & got 4 steak tacos, but with the quantities I only needed 3. Listen to me. I was super full. Nice, small sit in restaurant too. Reasonable prices. Parking can be tricky in this small strip mall parking lot. This place seems to be known for Goat Tacos, which I've never had, not sure I'm fond of that, but I may have to try it out one day. The only reason I didn't give this place 5 stars because I am waiting to checkout consistency. I will be back. Like in 2 days lol. Definitely recommend. read more

Did not even get the condiments that come with the Menudo . I love goat tacos but I have had awful versions at other places. Fear not. They are AWESOME here. Freshly made with delicious marinated meat. Get 'em traditional with cilantro and chopped onions, plus the terrific red sauce made especially for goat. Not to be missed! If goat is too freaky for you, other more traditional options are also quite delicious, such as steak or al pastor tacos. Their house made salsa verde is especially nice as a condiment. Decor is modest, with an authentic neighborhood taco joint feel (formica booths, squeeze bottles of sauce, napkin dispensers, etc). They sell Mexican Coke in bottles, made with cane sugar, which is a nice treat on the side. Blue Island is at least 50% Hispanic; this place gets the thumbs up from the locals and is busy for lunch and on the weekend. read more

Great food and fast delivery every time in my experiences. Not a lot of places to find good goat, but this is one of them!

Honestly, I was excited to try this establishment. On this day life necessitated we order delivery (reluctantly)and unfortunately the Grubhub operator did not knock or ring the doorbell, and the app, as of the writing of this message still believes our order is in progress. Our food order was cold, and incomplete, missing the entire medium order of Birriria. To be fair, the coke bottles were good and cold. I'm not going to 1 star this place because of something that *may have* been out of their control, but I took a few bites of the cold food as I was hungry after a nearly 2 hour ordeal and was underwhelmed, even by cold food standards. Everyone else did the same, and after a few bites no one was interested in muscling past the temperature of the food, or reheating. We were not convinced it was temperature issue, because the food just seemed to lack flavor. Our total order total was approx $70, and upon reporting the delivery issues, GH issued a full refund, prior to trying the food. So, we will try this place again sometime, but will not go with delivery, and will certainly will raise the rating if the experience warrants a rating higher than the generous 2 stars given today. read more

Made a random stop here, and found this place to be middle of the road. My wife, and both had the $5 3 taco, and a can of pop special (ground beef only). The tacos had good flavor, and they don't cheat you, but I've had good steak tacos for a buck. The chips were stale. Limited, basic menu but all are executed in a high quality manner. The goat burrito is amazing. I ordered it with extra meat, and the red sauce is far too spicy for my liking(despite my love of habaneros). It was a little pricey for what I received, and the restaurant is cash-only(there is an ATM next door. $3 fee). The environment has an accurate vibe, and the morning staff(two hispanic ladies) are kind, and extremely helpful. First off, I've been looking for a good burrito place near me so I went in with high hope. I went at about 1030 am on a Thursday and the place was empty except for a pleasant Hispanic woman who took my order. I ordered a steak burrito and was told it would take about 10 minutes to make. I sat down to wait and approximately 2 minutes later 2 men I didnt see when I walked in were behind the counter and the one told me my food was ready. I commented on how that was really quick and took my food to go. I got home and opened up my food and it looked good. I took a bite and the burrito was cold, ice cold, like it was a left over burrito from yesterday that had been in the fridge overnight. I was too hungry to go back or throw it away so I just ate it. I could see potential if it was a fresh hot burrito, but it wasnt. Fast forward 5 hours later and Im writing a review from the bathroom with a seriously upset stomach. The burrito was the only thing I ate all day and I usually have very high intestinal fortitude so the only logical conclusion to be made is that they gave me some weird old cold burrito.
