I had an awesome taco salad today with picadillo. It was exactly like I wanted and I put their green salsa on it and it was so delicious. Que Rico! I am disappointed that this location doesn't have posole anymore because I used to get it here years ago traveling up to Midway airport from Indiana. Jalisco Express has been my go to spot for a good burrito in the Oak Lawn area. I have been going here for years. I decided to call in an order and go with a steak burrito. Always someone on the other line whenever I call in. Steak burrito was ready in 5 mins for a quick in and out. Been coming here for years. But recently I'd say the food has gotten much better. Just ordered the steak fajitas tonight and my wife ordered the steak torta and it was great. My fajitas were well seasoned with the correct ratio of meat to veggies. The rice was good the beans were good. Her torta was fresh. Overall I thought our food was really good and the service was great. I dunno what these Karen's are talking about rude service I've been coming here all different times and I've never once experienced a rude service and the kitchen and dining area is always clean. If I had to complain about anything is they are kinda cheap with the spicy carrots and their hard, but I'm use to softer carrots from other places. Overall great food, great service. read more

If you're craving good Mexican food, you've got to check this place out. They have a window inside for ordering to-go and they also have a handful of tables inside for dine-in service. We called in a to-go order our first time trying the place and we have dined in twice since then. We walked in and sat down at one of the tables, and we were quickly greeted by our waitress. She brought out chips and salsa which were fresh and delicious. We ordered the steak nachos and the steak chimichanga burrito with a chile Relleno added inside. We also ordered a side of rice and beans. The service throughout our meal was excellent each time. The steak nachos (which we have ordered all 3 times) are scrumptious. They are fresh tortilla chips topped with steak, refried beans, cheese, avocado slices, and sour cream. They were so good we ate them all before I could snap a picture. The chimichanga burrito was also very tasty. The tortilla shell was perfectly crispy and the ingredients inside were fresh and delicious. The rice is flavored excellently and the steak is not fatty and grisly like I've found at other restaurants. We've been searching for a new spot for burritos and steak nachos as we moved pretty far away from our old favorite and this spot is everything we wanted and more. They're also open a lot later than most other restaurants around. I highly recommend checking this place out the next time you want high quality, fairly priced Mexican food. read more

I just ordered steak Fajita today. It was terrible. The service was terrible. I did not receive napkins or plastic utensils. The order was incomplete. I regret the 52.00 waisted on 2 fajitas dinners. My three star review has mostly to do with the price of the food. Three steak tacos, rice, and refried beans cost me more than $15 with tax. I frequent Mexican restaurants often, and it's usually between 10 and $12 for this same meal. For me this is a good burrito and quesadilla dinner spot, that's usually what I order to go, good portion and no long wait.

One of my favorite restaurants in Oak Lawn. The portions a huge when ordering takeout, the atmosphere is friendly and the staff recognize my voice when I call in (great customer detailing). The food is delicious. My favorite is their gordita with steak or chorizo. I am glad I do not live across the street because I would never cook homemade meals. Customer forever. read more

Jalisco used to be my go-to spot for Mexican. I've ordered the same thing for years, bistec a la Mexicana, chicken enchiladas dinner and a cheese quesadilla. A few years ago it was amazing food and out the door for $35 bucks. Recently that same order has gone from $35 bucks to $52. They still advertise the old prices on their newly built website, but charge a much different price at the restaurant. I understand everything has gotten more expensive recently, but the quality of the food at Jalisco has fell off while the prices went up. I have always loved this place up until now. I ordered a chile relleno and I got a soggy and watery chile relleno. I tried it and did not taste good at all it had a freezer burn taste asked if I can replace it for a regular taco and I apologized about having to return it but it was not good at all. She took it to the back remind you it was basically whole. I go to pay and I see the older lady tell the waitress that she got it. I asked her if she removed the chile rellano and she said no that I still ordered it. She insisted that I should've ate it because I ordered it. I have to say I have eaten at many authenic mexican restaurants and this one sucks. I ordered a bistec a la mexicana dinner and first the price was twice the amount than what was shown their online menu. 2nd they burnt the meat so all I can taste was burnt meat. There should be a sauce that the meat, tomatoes, onion and jalapenos sit in but it was non existent. I also have never seen orange refried beans in my life until now. You pay extra for flour tortillas which is ridiculous. The only thing I liked was my sliced avocado. Good place to satisfy your urge for good Mexican food. This place is not fancy, it is more taqueria than restaurant, but they do serve some basic dinner plates. The food is authentic and a notch above average. Their steak tacos are seasoned well and the meat is not too tough or fatty. Their spicy green or red salsas are also very tasty.
