Oh my boyfriend and I have been and search for the best taco truck. This might have had all five stars if I absolutely loved their salsa, but I didn't. The salsa was good, but I've had better. They sent him back with a bag of tacos and ceviche juice spilt all inside the bag It looked so disgusting my everything in the bag was drenched ! I'm not prepared to say El Dolar is better, but as John Wayne said in "Rio Bravo," "It'd be pretty close. I'd hate to have to live on the difference." After nearly drowning trying to stop at El Dolar during a thunderstorm, I made it back a couple days later. When trying a new taqueria, I've found ordering lengua, pastor and barbacoa tacos usually give me a good picture of the place. Service was fairly quick. Gracious, these are good. No, they're excellent. And they have lots of meat. The pastor was as tender and juicy as I've ever had. And the lengua... Most places do OK, but you can frequently tell it's tongue by the texture and a bit of a gamey taste. Not here. Big, soft chunks that left me wanting more. I thought the barbacoa was even better than at Taqueria Sanchez. It was perfection in a tortilla. The horchata was great as well. I really liked the green sauce they have. It's definitely got heat, but I picked up a nice taste of onion in the background. I considered drinking it, but instead sprinkled it on the tacos. The carnitas tacos are legit!!! They make carnitas the way it was meant to be made and it's hard to find done right like they do it here.

Listen. No taco truck is topping this one. The first time we came here we ended up coming back 3 more times in the same week... that's just dangerous (health wise, lol) but it's that good so no regrets. The asada tacos are always solid and the quesadilla is sooooo good (I like a steak and chicken mix). I prefer the green salsa over the red. Love this taco truck on Penn and NW 10th. It's fast, tasty, and reliable. I have never driven by it when I've craved tacos or a torta and it not being open. They must have the best work ethics! So, I know I can always count on el Dolar to satisfy my early or late Mexican cravings. The only downside is that they take cash only, and the gas station parking lot it's located can get a little sketchy. But as a lover of dive-y, hole in the wall places, this will never deter me! This is hands down the best Mexican food in Oklahoma City. I live ~18 miles away and it's tradition to stop here whenever I'm on that side of town. $5 for a burrito that I can't finish in one sitting. I have not had one bad experience here. I place complicated orders and they never mess them up. Pro Tips: 1. Bring Cash ($5/person if you're frugal. $10/person if you're a big spender). If you forget, 7/11 is across the street. I have been recommended to go here by several people! as we approached the truck, we were greeted by several regulars who were discussing how much they love the place. My friend who accompanied me God for beef tacos and two pork tacos and she absolutely loved all of them! It definitely hit her cravings perfectly! Since I don't eat meat, I ordered a burrito without meat! The burrito was only five dollars and was so big and filling. The burrito wasn't my favorite, however I wasn't upset since it does specialize in tacos! I would definitely recommend this place to any taco fanatic! Now that I have come here quite a few times and tried several other taco food trucks in the area, I will submit that this is still probably the best street taco food truck in the OKC area. I have found that at times their chicken tacos are a bit greasy, but one things for sure, they won't be dry :-) You will need to ensure you have cash as they do not accept credit cards. read more

We'd been ignoring the frequent GPS suggestions to turn off the interstate, but finally gave in as we approached the southeast 29th street exit. This place is one of the best finds I've ever had for authentic Mexican food. The food is cheap AND delicious. I always get the tacos and for $1.25 per taco, my wallet stays happy too! There are nights where I dream about the tacos. I'm serious, they're that good. I would choose this place over Fuzzys any day of the week. Currently, they're operating out of a truck but I heard they're getting their own place soon. So the only downside is that you'd probably have to eat out of your car unless you take it home. My favorite taco truck! I discovered this truck the same way that I do most of the restaurants that I've been to. I was driving down the street, and it caught my eye. The truck is located in a sketchy strip mall. My first visit, I was given a prep time of 7 minutes for my tacos, so I decided to venture into a near by shop called Ziggys smoke shop. The place was pretty baron, with the exception of a few bongs, porn magazines, a large group of people sitting on a couch conversing, and a huge pitbull chained to the front counter. I decided to walk near the dog, to look at the bongs, but really it was a way to show the people on the couch that I wasn't afraid of the dog. My legs were shaking like a crap game, and I was trying to steady them. Luckily the dog turned out to be pretty nice. I walked out of there feeling 10 feet tall, until 2 girls in a Geo Metro outside tried to sell my cologne, spraying me with bootleg $20 per bottle crap. I can go on about other times that I was approached by charlatans, but I'm trying to tell you how good these tacos are! Located on the corner of S.W. 44th and May, Taqueria El Dolar have the best street tacos that I've had, but I haven't tried many other other places. The tacos are $1 each, they are fairly small, but worth every penny. I usually go with the chicken and beef tacos. I've tried the ceviche tostada, and it was pretty good, but I don't like to deviate from tacos. I'm somewhat addicted. To avoid the line and wait, call in ahead at 4056285926. There are plenty of other options on the menu, such as Carne Asada that I've yet to try, but will eventually.
