Salad that comes with the Molcajete
    Bernardo S.

Seen a video on Facebook on a molcajete that looked amazing so I had to venture back to my old neighborhood to try it for myself . The molcajete is not on the menu so you have to ask for it . Molcajete El Guero ****** Steak and chicken fajita mix with peppers and onions with a great sauce served in a molcajete is by far 1 of the best dishes I have tried . The chicken and steak was well seasoned and soft pairs perfectly with the salsa verde . This dish comes with rice and beans and a salad and quesadillas. Be aware that this dish is enough for 4 to 5 people so expect to have leftovers . I judge places by how good the coffee is and I was impressed by how good it was had a hint of cinnamon that made it feel like I made it at home . Worth the drive also the tacos are superb , bring cash as this place is cash only .

Great food and a neighborhood favorite. They also have taco Wednesday. It usually a 15-20 min wait due to people placing large orders.

I probably should create another entry for this business, because it has changed its focus. It is no longer a supermercado; it is now a licoreria! I don't particularly have a problem with that, but it's good to know what you're in for. With that being said, I come here for the taqueria housed inside. They've spruced it up a bit, but we don't come to taquerias for ambiance, do we? No! El Guero serves up some tasty traditional tacos, good tortas, great gorditas, good-sized burritos, and delicious guacamole and pico de gallo! I get so excited about gorditas, because it's not often that you find them on the menu--especially freshly-made in-house. They aren't stingy with the filling, and will customize however you like (within reason, of course). The prices have gone up slightly since the re-do, but I'm not complaining. As long as they continue to make good, quality, fresh food, I'll continue to partake. They also serve fresh horchata, jamaica, and rotating agua frescas, but I've never tried them. Maybe next time! P.S. Just remember to bring cash!

Hmmmmm I don't know where to begin with this place. I think this place is actually really good but I only gave it two stars instead of four because of the customer service. If your not Mexican you will not receive a warm greeting even if you give one. I walked in and said hello and it being my first time there the cook just walked right pass me without any acknowledgement or anything so I just stood there till he ask he what did I want. Which is exactly what he said but when his Mexican buddies came in they got the what up amigos and a smile... Um why couldn't I get that???? Another black person came in after me and straight attitude again. Ugh that disgusted me if you don't want black ppl in your store, put up a sign so I can sue. Just rude. But never the less I ordered a steak burrito from here and it was delicious. It had beans, seasoned to perfection steak, lettuce, tomato and cheese that was all rolled up inside if a tortilla. It didn't come with fries or anything, I assume you had to order that separately if you wanted it but whatever. Over all it was really good food from what I had bit I don't think I would be back because of the awful customer service. I don't pay people to treat me like crap. So I can't pay them even though their food was delicious.. 7/16/15 Everyone: please look at the picture that I posted that someone sent me and you will understand my response So I am NOT changing a single thing that I wrote in response to how I felt when I walked into this establishment..but I will response to Arthur R. From Lansing sent he felt it was his responsibility to correct me on my opinion and my feelings since he is obviously an African American young lady named Tamara (I didn't know I had an exact replica of myself but cool!!!) even though it's none of your business how I paid for my food, but a co-worker paid for me that day because we needed a quick bite to eat and it was her turn to buy lunch.. So therefore No I did not pay for my meal and Yes it was DELICIOUS. What does Bill Cosby have to do with anything? I don't know him and he don't know me? I NEVER claimed anyone in there to be a racist, I just wanted a warm greeting like every Latino that walked in there. Since you said most black people don't know how to act in the inner city including me. you don't know me or my demeanor. Don't judge me by other peoples actions judge me for me. I had a smile on my face, I was properly dressed given the fact that I was working, and I spoke proper English.. So why can't I get a simple hi?? Yes I did say if they don't want black people in their store to put up a sign so I can sue and I stand by it!! By the way that goes for any place I visit. Have I been back since that review?? yes I have.. did I pay for anything?? No I did not. Did I steal anything? No I did not. I just happen to have a coworker who like the place. Last time I checked Money is GREEN and that's the only color I know and it all spends the same and finally I am the consumer that wanted to buy a product and No I didn't need to spend my Hard Earn Money on someplace that cannot say hi to me and everyone in there spoke perfectly good English and Spanish so there were No language barrier.. Now I don't need to explain myself to you or anyone else for that matter Arthur R. From Lansing IL. But I took the time to respond to your ignorance about me and how I felt because I forgot I guess I don't me or my emotions and a complete stranger that I never meet knows me better then I know myself.. Keep the nonsense to yourself and thank you for reading.. At least I know my reviews are being read.. #NeverOnThatLevel.. Who the real racist.. Not me so I guess that's you. yelp please don't delete this, let other people learn from his stupid mistake. #ImAboveTheNegative Facebook Twitter Instagram Can all get a good laugh

So tasty! We tried the gorditas, tacos and tostadas with different types of meat. The pork stood out the most with flavour. The lettuce and tomato toppings tasted soooo crisp and fresh! Also I tried their "rice water" aka horacha? It was a first for me and wow was it ever good!! Loved it, service was wonderful, keep it up guys.

GORDITAS! This is a grocery store that has a little lunch counter. Gorditas are damn good and one ($2.35 each) fills me up. Every once in a while I like to try out my Spanish but lately I've been ordering in English because I'm chicken. And no, white boy, those red and yellow bottles are not ketchup and mustard. *pictures

What a gem! Been here many times. Great service and great food. If you live in the area this should be on your "go to" short list. If you're passing through, it's worth the stop.

"Steak tacos"- cilantro, onions, lettuce, tomatoes, & sour cream

One of my friends took me took this place for the first time. I tried the steak tacos w/ cilantro, onions, lettuce, tomatoes, & sour cream. These tacos was fresh, seasoned very well, and the meat wasn't tough to chew. Wanna try the chicken tacos, will go to this place again

This is my 1st time coming here I came to get a few things for a gift bag. The sign says it was supposed to open at 10:00 am. Me, my friend and 2 more people were standing outside to go in....The gentle came out open the gate took the fellow Mexican that was standing outside and left me, my friend and another black woman outside. I have things to do and I asked why they not opened yet the man never said anything to us but closed the door in our faces and yelled obscenities at me in spanish...I knew every word he said to me.....calling me a pinche pendejo through the glass.. immediately I was offended and applaud never been to the store this was my 1st time and you treat your customers like this....so I walked away furious I ended up coming back to take pictures and do a report because I was just that angry....so I walked back into the store to take picture the gentleman then comes back out and tells me GET THE FUCK OUT.......I told him I was buying something but I left and told him I was going go file a report against them , because i was a paying customer who got disrespected just for asking about why they was not opening on time

Noticed this place had decent reviews so I had to try it out. I liked it a lot and the aguas frescas were AMAZING. I ordered some tacos but I personally don't like white corn tortilla but it wasn't a big deal. I would definitely come back. Also, you order with the cashier and make sure to bring cash they don't take card.

Evelyn greeted us right away and placed my order. I asked for spicy salsa so she recommended the gobernador salsa which was a green spicy salsa made with poblanos. Evelyn was so sweet! She gave my puppy a treat and also brought out a bowl of water for him while we waited for the food. The inside of the restaurant was really cute and colorful and they had a separate bar area for drinks. I decided to order a spicy michelada with Pacifico beer while waiting. The bartender was super nice and made my drink quickly. It was the perfect amount of spice and was so refreshing! My burrito came out quick for how packed the inside of the restaurant was. I ordered the Paloma, and my husband got the Michelada, both super refreshing and made well. For food, I ordered the El Gringo with rice and salad. I definitely wish I had swapped the salad for beans, because my husband got both rice and beans, and I ended up finishing my rice and helping with his too lol. Highly recommend this dish, just go for the beans instead of the salad! My husband also ordered three tacos: Al Pastor, Chorizo, and Carne Asada, all of which were really good. One of the fun touches is that they have QR codes at the table to leave a Google review, and if you do, you get to spin a prize wheel. Of course I had to try it, and it made the whole experience even more fun. I ended up winning a free double shot! The staff were all super friendly, the restaurant was clean, and the music gave it a fun, vibrant atmosphere. I'd definitely come back!
