We were seated immediately with the best unlimited chips and salsa with refried beans. They make all their own sauces FRESH. David made the habanero mango salsa himself! I got the birria tacos with consume served with another delicious special salsa (I took home.) Dad got the Huaracha Sampler that came with camarones sautéed in garlic onions and mushrooms with asada and barbacoa tacos with guacamole. Mom got asada tacos à la carte. They even sell their delicious salsa and sauces upon request. I would highly recommend large parties and families to go for celebrating they have alcohol and so many delicious items on the menu! Great fresh tortilla chips and salsa! Ordered two crispy tacos Ala Carte. One carnitas and the other polo. The meat was tasty and the composition of the tacos were Perry good, but the cheap super market boxed taco shells impacted the final product in a negative way. Came here because the high reviews and when I entered the restaurant, the high number of Hispanic patrons... but once the food arrive, it was just OK. Service was good, no issues there as they were able to accommodate large party (8-10 ppl). The kids booster chairs were sticky and needed to be cleaned. We had to use a baby wipe to clean before using. Some of the items we got were the Macha Burrito which was bland and lacked seasoning of the chicken. The Steak & Fries (Carne Asada Fries for us SoCal) was a 2, not as promising as other reviews. We ordered this as an appetizer and majority of family passed once they saw it and the rest once they tried it. Ordered the quesadilla and fries for the kids, and it was the smallest size tortilla used... not an adult order let alone an order to share with kids. Other items ordered were the Cali Burrito which I was told was good, but "needed something" and the fajitas with chicken. Chicken was pounded flat and very dry. We were hoping for more as this was a place that had higher expectations due to reviews and we really wanted some good Mexican food. Figured I'd try this place for some menudo. Looks like it's a family owned place as there were more people there than customers. Menudo was good even had a bone. The service could be better I had to ask for coffee and water refills 3 times even with waitresses walking by the table all the time. I even put the cup at the edge of the table for a hint no dice. Used to be my go to Mexican place in silverdale. Not so sure now. Went in for a late lunch (1:30 pm) and ordered from the lunch menu. Well, I know why the prices are cheaper on the lunch menu (I hope this is the reason), because they are not actually putting meat in the dishes! Ordered the espresso burrito with ground beef. Picture is from the center of the burrito. There is almost no ground beef in this thing. It is all rice and potato (front of picture you can see a potato). Was not even worth the lunch special price. The service was great, friendly and fast, but again I was there after the lunch rush. Will not be going back for lunch anytime soon and not sure I will be going back for dinner either. Ambiance is midway between a sports bar and a Mexican family restaurant. Food is generally very good, although some items are a step above others in my opinion. Beer and alcohol selection are very good. Try the guava margaritas. Be sure to ask for the "three salsas". It's not on the menu, but they'll be sure to delight. On recommendation from a friend, we decided to try this "Hole-in-the-Wall" restaurant. I ordered the chicken taquitos. They were listed as an appetizer, but they ended up being a full-on meal! These are, without reservation, the BEST taquitos I've ever had! While they're made with deep fried flour tortillas, they were so light and crispy the texture was more like puff pastry, and the chicken filling was yummy. Went here long ago and wasn't all that impressed though it was okay, but today I had such a splendid enchilada plate, indeed I think I might go back every time I'm craving enchilada. My partner got a burrito that was only so-so (I ate the last fourth of it), and I felt bad about that for her since mine was so darned good. So it's clear one's opinion of the place is going to be based on what one orders. Their flan was gritty and weird, for instance, and if I hadn't had that awesome pair of enchiladas I'd've kept my previous opinion of the place. I gotta experiment though to find out what other things super fine, and what's just okay; so gotta go back and try huevos rancheros soon in fact, hoping that's as good as this "basic" enchilada that's impossible to improve upon. The style is not fancy regionally "authentic" to some specific part of Mexico, but is Easy Familiar Mexican American, which if you grew up on it here in the Northwest is always gonna be pretty darned nice. Perfect family place it seems to me. And service is excellent and the people running the place seem extremely goodhearted. Disappointed!!! Carne asada burrito was filled with beans. It was runny and the smallest $15 dollar burrito we have ever ordered. Tortillas and burrito ingredients don't cost much. Why not fill it up with Carme asada if you are going to charge those prices, otherwise fill it with rice and beans and charge $5.00. Furthermore, to go menu prices should be different. I ALWAYS forget to prepare my shrimp at home with mushrooms and reminded when I come here! I could have been fine with just this portion of the meal. But the steak, complimented the shrimp well! I thought Moctezuma's was the best place in town but man was I wrong. This is the place to go and it's not even close. If you're looking for a calm environment for an evening soirée then this isn't it. But if you're looking for the absolute best deal in town then it is. The food is on par with Moctezuma's and I even prefer it. The chorizo queso dip is fantastic and honestly better than anywhere else near here. The chimichanga is as good as anywhere and the rice is top notch. I even got fried ice cream with my meal because I could afford it. And all that only cost $34. Anywhere else it's $15 more. Even the service was good. I don't usually pay much attention to service and this is no exception, but they seated me, took my order, and brought the food in a reasonable amount of time. Really. This is by far the best Mexican restaurant I have tried in Kitsap County! The margaritas taste so good and are made with freshly squeezed lime juice. Not that fake pre-mix stuff! I went with the Verde burrito based on my server's recommendation. It was SO delicious. And HUGE. I thought for sure I would not be able to finish it. I did. Came here for my younger sisters birthday, staff sung to her in Spanish and English and put a sombrero on her. My waitress was the sweetest lady ever. The food was out of this world, such large portions for not too much money. Lotssss to bring home after. We asked if our brand new kitten could come in and they put us out in the back where it was sunny and grassy, no one else was there. They really suited our needs and went out of their way for us. I got fish tacos that were served with a side of beans and rice and horchata. My waitress refilled my horchata without me asking (even tho it isn't water) and I'm pretty sure it was for free. While on Quarantine- We decided to try "to Go" from El Huarache's. It was fantastic! I was worried the quality would not be the same for take out, but it was just as good as sitting inside. Hubby had his favorite-the California Burrito, which has fries rolled up inside. I had the chicken burrito (Daniel's Special I think?), and it was so good. Everything was still hot when I got it home, and the portions are enough to have for another meal the next day-or to share. While standing at the counter I was looking at pictures on the wall of their house margarita, and the server informed me they make Margaritas To Go-YES! I really like their food quality. It is extremely consistent; some places you get great or ugh. Not here. My wife is sensitive to soy, and they will make her fajita by grilling the meat in water instead of soy. Also the favorite of my 3 boy's. We ordered delivery for the first time from here last night before they were closing around 8:30pm and we ordered 3 wet burritos, 1 regular burrito and a kids meal . I saw two bags and kind of trusted that everything was in there because it was tied up pretty well and the red sauce was already spilling inside the bag. Well I got home 10-15 min later and realized we were missing one. I called back and they were already closed. No big deal, I said it's okay we can just go tmrw and ask for a refund/replacement. I wouldn't have even normally bothered but it was a $16+ burrito. We went this morning and I spoke to the lady in Spanish and she was basically calling me a liar and saying she was certain she packed four. She said she needed the receipt that was stapled to the bag, we didn't have that we only had a digital receipt and she said NO, that wasn't good enough. She was really rude which is fine I understand it's an inconvenience to give a refund. Another lady came out and offered me a replacement but at that point I was worried they'd spit in my food and the burritos were not good, I didn't want another one. She ended up saying that she couldn't give us a refund because we ordered through Yelp, which I think is linked to grub hub. So with that we left empty handed. Lesson learned: I won't be back, and from now on I will rip open the bag even if the sauce gets everywhere which it was spilling from the styrofoam container. I know I should have checked but they handled it so poorly...the food definitely wasn't worth the awful experience. read more
