Apparently I'm el Gordo!? my mother suffers from advanced Alzheimer's, but at time she has moments of clarity and knows exactly what she wants so I try to make her happy as possible for dinner today on the drive home she decided she wanted a burrito. I remembered this place has a burrito special on Monday so I figured why not give me a shot. I've only come here during the morning hours. I've never had any issues with customer service. It's always been a pleasant surprise to find a great value at the price point they offer. However, the service could literally be more of the night and day between that morning hours and evening. I have pre-ordered over the phone as to go. I asked for salsa on the side when we got to the restaurant I came to pay and mentioned to the cashier that we were going to there instead, the response I got was that the order was already made but I could eat inside if I wanted to. We were handed a plastic bag with both burritos inside that's it. I took a bag to my mother at the table and told her if she wanted to get started go ahead I went back and asked for a tray I had to go back and ask for a knife for some reason he thought I meant like a kitchen knife. I was fine with just a plastic knife as I had asked for them to be cut in half but apparently that request was not heard. I had to go back a 3rd time and ask for salsa. I'm not a fan of their red or green salsa, there's a 3rd option which apparently is the one they give out with their chips, news to me but and then was told I would have to pay for it??? I've never paid for salsa at this location and I've always gotten the same kind. I just spent $21 a change on two burritos and was going to be nickel and dime'd for salsa? Anyways, by the time I got back to the table, my burrito is cold... on the way home. My mother couldn't find her glass or the case they go into. I went back to the restaurant to check the table and ask the staff if anyone turned anything in the cashier was in the back prepping in the kitchen, and when they asked if you found anything you said oh, you mean for the Gordo. I mean, I can't lie. I am definitely overweight, but whereas I can go on a diet exercise and get back into shape, this dude will always be stuck with a melon head y una cara de perro feo! Hayward has plenty of other options for Mexican food so unfortunately for this place, they've gone back down to the bottom of the list.

    Just shells and jalepeno

Literally the worst shrimp cocktail I've ever had in my life and I eat them all the time. First of all, why would there be hella shells?!? Second of all, if you ask someone if they want it spicy, I didn't just think it's just going to be raw chunks of jalepenos put in it. This is not worth the $20 plus something dollars. I left a positive review for the wet burritos but this is just ridiculous. I hardly leave negative reviews but this is just laughable at this point. Am I being punked?!? Do better. No wonder it's dead on a Saturday evening

    from taco Tuesday :)

Taco Tuesday: $1.5 per! I'm giving this a 4 star because the amount of meat was pretty small, but for 1.5 it's alright. I've seen other places load it on for that price. Nonetheless it was good, I loved that the chorizo wasn't super oily like other places I've had it at before! It took maybe 5 minutes for my food to be done :).

Order: Chilaquiles $15.00 2 tacos de lengua : 3.00$ each 2 tacos de buche: 1.50$ each Burrito mojado: 15.00$ Agua pina: 4.75$ Very nice place for a burrito mojado ! The chilaquiles were burnt and the egg was dry. The tacos were okay. The customer service is 2/5

My buddy and I stopped by for Taco Tuesday and let me tell you, these $1 tacos were amazing!!! There were juicy, soft, and the meat proportion was perfect! You have to check out this spot, make sure to order one of each! This is a highly recommend for me!

    Super Nachos

Carne Asada Super Nachos Looked great but unfortunately did not taste great. Not enough bean & cheese. The meat itself was flavorless. I finished it all because I was very hungry but I'll give it a 3/5.

HAPPY TACO TUESDAY !! $1 tacos are the best!! I haven't had tacos in forever, and I was skeptical at first because I've never been here but it did not disappoint! Below is a list of everything I got! Al pastor tacos were well seasoned and it came with just the right amount of salsa. I loved every bite of it and wished I got more! Carnitas were delicious! It could use a bit more seasoning but I still enjoyed it! The Verde sauce complimented the carnitas well too! Overall, I would come back! Maybe after finals LOL I recommend trying it out, especially on Tuesdays!!

They are located in a very small strip mall, if you blink you might miss them. They took over the spot that used to be a pizza restaurant. I always order the standard taco, because whenever your on the move.. traveling here and there sometimes you need a fast bite! a bite that you can eat on the run... that would be tacos/burritos. They are within the required Covid guidelines here so of course all the employees have the gloves and mask on.... Service is fast but please understand me on this. The food is made fresh, so there is a lil wait time for fresh fast food, compared to preparpared food that is not fresh. The food is made with love, and try the mild green salsa.... it has a nice flavor.... different from anything I had before. .The food is very fresh, now I have no problems waiting a few extra minutes for good fresh food. I love the fact that the cashier handles the front, and the cooks handle the kitchen. Don't let the photos misguide you, people are pulling up and walking up all the time. Then they either wait outside or go grocery shopping next door.

I usually don't like to leave negative reviews, I'd rather not leave them, but on this occasion I could not keep quite. am very disappointed with the food quality and specially the service. The food was beyond bad. I was the only customer at the time and they took awfully long to prepare 2 simple tacos. Tortillas were stale and the meat had a bad flavor. I could not finish the food, I was so sad to toss it out...but I did Do not recommend it.

    Chilaquiles....not good
    Lupita R.

I so regret eating here because the food was terrible. The place is small and looked a bit dingy, but I was so hungry that it didn't bother me much. I ordered the chilaquiles with egg, and when it was brought out to me, it looked like the saddest plate of chilaquiles I've ever seen. The tortilla chips were super mushy and dry. No sauce at all. Just a pile of soggy flavorless chips with 2 overcooked eggs on top. How hard is it to cook an egg? My bf ordered the chorizo burrito and it was the nastiest burrito I've ever tasted. Mushy, greasy, and unseasoned chorizo filled the flour tortilla, that eventually fell apart because it was so greasy. Its rare that we dont finish our food when eating out, but it was so bad here that we basically flushed 30+ dollars down the drain, because that food went straight to the trash. Save your money and go elsewhere.

We really enjoyed all the food (chilaquiles rojos and the verdes with meat, and three quesabirrias). We couldn't finish it all! You can tell it's all homemade, which is nice. A lot of places don't make their chilaquiles sauce from scratch. We'd definitely return. The only thing I'd pass on is the Vietnamese coffee. They are a great snack while you wait for your meal. 9/10 - The ube pancakes: These were pretty solid. I didn't think that the pancakes themselves had a very strong ube flavor, if any. I think all of the flavor was in the ube coconut sauce that they come with. However, there is only sauce on the first layer so you might want to get extra! It is an additional $2.75 or so to get the extra side of ube sauce, though. The pancakes themselves could have been a little more moist and fluffy, as they were a bit dry and dense. I loved the fruit and sauce, so that definitely made up for it! I'm glad that I got to try, but I don't think I'd get them again. Instead, I would get a regular pancake and a side of the ube coconut cream! 8/10 - The chorizo burrito: My bf said that this was also a pretty good option. He thought that it could have been a bit more flavorful, but was still satisfied with his meal! 7.5/10 - The side of hash browns: These were good, as to be expected! The portion was a bit small in comparison to other diners in the area. 7.5/10 Overall, I always enjoy my experiences at denica's! Food: Ordered the beignets, a corned beef hash breakfast meal (husband's dish), and a 3 egg pancake combo for myself. Yum! The beignets are more doughy than I expected, but tasted fresh. There is a large assortment of empanadas, from meat options like chorizo and chicken, to vegetarian like corn and onion, to sweet options too like apples. The menu also boasts lots of great drinks including mate tea! Lucky us, the empanadas we ordered weren't in stock so we had to wait ~10 for freshly baked ones. They came out buttery and piping hot, even with little hand-stamped letters on them so you know what you're eating, and it was so delicious. Most are about $5.50 each. Add oregano chimichurri for a bit extra if you want or pair with a tea, but these empanadas really hit the snacky spot. Lots of wooden tables with fresh flowers make Pampas a great space to chat with friends or to sit and do some work. I ordered an empanada of chorizo and of chicken with a side of chimchurri and a Cortado to go The cashier seemed a little bit overwhelmed I noticed she told the customer before me to hold before he placed his order and told me the same thing Inside has communal seating no outside seating available Menu is easy to read and prices are reasonable Parking lot is shared with Trader Joe's so needless to say parking can be hard to come by This venue does offer wine and beer (aside from coffee) Empanadas were OK Guess it gives me a reason to go back to Puerto Rico AYYYY Cortado was an 8/10 Gave me that extra perk Inside is clean and organized Lots of seating available Menu is easy to ready
