My dad Johnny and I go in as often as we can. We absolutely love the owner and love the customer service. We always have a nice time enjoying some breakfast and eating some amazing crepes! We love that they've been around for a while and we are able to call this one of our main stops for breakfast! Thank you for your great service and food!

Very nice staff and great service! The crepes are really good and portion is generous. I tried a savory and a sweet crepes and I personally like the savory crepe more. There are plenty of tables and the place is clean.

I went to visit a friend in San Leandro and it made me wish I lived over here simply to frequent this coffee shop. I had the iced horchata latte and iced vanilla latte at two different times in one weekend. Both of the coffees were super sweet and yummy and gave me the caffeine boost I needed. I had their seafood delight as well before I made my way back home. It was filling and delectable with shrimp and crab. The meal came with additional sides of pesto and ranch. I will definitely be coming back when I am in the area! The service was quick on both occasions even when packed!

mmmmm i feel i've never had a proper savoury crepe til now i highly recommend trying a savoury crepe here with their greek pasta on the side the crispiness with the pesto flavouring and the fillings you can't go wrong! i also really enjoyed the toffee coffee that i got with the toffee bits at the bottom the service was nice and fast very cute cafe and date area

I hadn't been to Frodo Joe's in a bit, because I seldom visit the east bay these days. But because I was visiting, I couldn't let the morning go by without indulging. And like in the past, they did not disappoint! Food is always on point, the place has cute atmosphere and vibe that is nice. And although the location is relatively small, and there's a constant flow of patrons, it wasn't so busy that there were wasn't a table available or a long wait receiving your order. Definitely still one of my favorite spots!

Had some time to kill before meeting a friend so stopped to get a coffee and a fruit crepe and to use the restroom. The place was busy and everyone was enjoying their weekend lazy morning.

We dropped by and got two crepes - the seafood one and the strawberry cheesecake! Both were delicious and HUGE portions for the price you pay. I definitely think this place is worth it and would come by if I were in the area. For drinks, we got the strawberry mocha and lavender early gray latte. These were okay but you get a lot for $6!

Frodo Joe's Delight Salad, really good!

Outstanding food and service. I always get the salads but I have no doubt that anything on the menu is excellent. The lady who runs this place is so nice.

    Clarissa R.

I ordered the Silicon Smoothie through Doordash and it tasted refreshing and great! The smoothie comes with the option of adding whip cream, which I did not add, but I think it's a great option to have. The smoothie has mango juice, banana, and peach.

    Shrimp Pesto

Came back again and try different savory crepes. Shrimp Pesto - the crepe itself is still crispy, but I am not a big fan of the small shrimp, they are lack of taste, I won't order again. Breakfast Galette - as good as before, this time I got pasta as side dish. Will order again and again.

Integrated into downtown Hayward just a block from the theater and other eateries and drink spots, Khao Hom has made a strong impression in the local community drawing a good following for weekend brunch as well as weekday lunch. With street parking right in front as well as sharing free public parking in the lot behind the restaurant, once you've slogged through traffic to get to this area, you'll be able to easily park and venture in for your food experience. As you enter, you'll likely need to wait for one of their staff members to seat you in one of their two dining spaces. The rooms are well lit and enhance the ambiance of your meal (and photos) with natural lighting. When seated, you'll get their food and drinks menu in addition to finding their dessert menu at the table. As standard, each table gets a carafe of water for you to serve yourselves. Their menu is quite extensive in representing popular Thai flavors with a bit of flare. You'll find curries, soups, noodles and chef specialties in their own sections of the menu. They also have some alcohol infused drinks for those looking for a full brunch experience. As a novice to some Thai dishes, I did have to ask the staff to explain a bit about certain dishes, but there were a few that caught my eye and never let go. Thai tea - flavorful and bold; rich but not too sweet Matcha latte - rich matcha flavor and creamy; best sipped and can be packed in a to-go cup if you don't finish Tom yum crab omelet - beautifully crafted omurice-esque dish where you'll find white rice encased in an egg omelet topped with succulent pieces of crab meat and smothered in tom yum soup. This dish is not only a pleasure to look at but the taste and textures in each bite will have you salivating for more until the dish completely disappears. This unique take is a must get for first timers! Roti gai tod - crispy fried yet succulent chicken served with a small serving of creamy yellow curry, white rice, and a roti alongside their delicious chili sauce. Fantastic balance of textures and flavors will have your tongue dancing from the spices. Tom kha soup - a bowl of comfort with a whole lot of shredded chicken, red onions, and mushrooms with a few big quarters of fresh tomatoes. It's not as creamy as I would like but the flavor is there with its abundance in lemongrass. The portion is large as one order can easily split into two bowls. Fried ice cream - a meal topper and sweet indulgence for those looking to try something new and rarely found elsewhere. This giant meteorite of a breaded and fried ball of vanilla ice cream is topped with chocolate fudge, powdered sugar, a generous helping of whipped cream and plenty of fruit (strawberries, blueberries, kiwi, grapes, and cantaloupe). Definitely shareable and a surprising star of their dessert menu - they could definitely do more to advertise this! The staff were super friendly and quick to take dirty dishes out of the way. They kept the place clean, served the food promptly and treated all of their customers with respect and smiles. Top notch crew from the front of the house to the back. Furthermore, should you need the restrooms, they do have two gender neutral rooms that were decently maintained. Overall, Khao Hom is not your everyday Thai restaurant nor is it your run of the mill brunch spot - this is a unique experience with food created out of passion to merge these together. The result is an aesthetically pleasing yet hunger extinguishing meal that will have you discovering new flavors and craving for more. With its proximity to the city center, it's a great a spot to plan out a lunch or brunch before a nice stroll around or a movie. Thai food has never looked and tasted so good!

Was meeting up with a friend from Berkeley and he found this spot in between the both of us. Pros and cons! + The coffee - holy shit. Got a cortado. And drank it without sugar it was so good. A touch of bitter (it's coffee - duh!) but so smooth, almost nutty but buttery at the same time. + Got a chicken salad sandwich. It came stacked HIGH with hints of sweetness and curry. Freshest produce. Honestly, I was hungry but could only eat half of it, it was so big. + Friend got a warmed cinnamon bun. Incredible. Yeasty, chewy almost crisp on the outside but pillowy soft on the inside. + Wide open space inside -- high ceilings, one big central area. Not tucked away spaces -- which might or might not match your preference. + Perfect amount of coffeehouse buzz. Music playing lowish in the background and lots of conversations. Just enough to quell my ADHD tendencies. * Honestly can't think of any negatives. Prices are a bit high but happy to pay it for such a quality experience. I think my cortado was decently priced -- maybe $6 or so? Sandwich was $18 or so but done really well and came with a bowl of soup (chips, fruit, and something else was an option instead of soup, but tomato bisque with a sandwich? While my partner did not like the French toast, because it was too eggy and not fluffy, I really enjoyed the veggie scramble. There were so many fresh veggies in the scramble that went well together such as avocado, olives, onions, bell peppers, etc. It was very delicious with the cheese and fresh salsa. A staffer said that their fresh salsa was the best, and we agreed -- it had a lot of flavor and went well with the eggs. My hash browns were also perfectly crispy, which was nice. I ordered one of their specials, the Petrale Sole, and it was under seasoned and a bit too oily for my tastes. It also comes with your choice of soup or salad, along with a separate dinner side (rice, spaghetti, some form of potato, etc.) as well. All of these were also just okay. The pricing is reflective of the plethora of sides, which I personally dislike, as I would prefer lower pricing with no sides if given the option.
