THE. BEST. TACOS. IN. THE WORLD. Don't @ me. If you have seen my other reviews, you may come to the conclusion that I'm dramatic....I don't blame you. But I am not, I promise. I am just incredibly passionate about food. And La Taqueria, is something that I am very passionate about. Where else can you get ~$1.90 tacos with such amazing flavor?! Nowhere friends. They are savory and spicy. Fresh and flavorful. Delectable and delightful. I always get the spicy pork and beef cheek. So tender and good. When you sprinkle that wedge of lime all over the tacos.....it's a wrap! I go off into another universe. And the carrots! Whew! Spice lovers, thank me later. This food truck is located next to Sunoco gas station on Ashley Phosphate. There aren't a lot of parking spaces, but out of my ~25 times of going there, I have never had trouble parking. Another reason I love to go here is because I know I can depend on them to be open. They are open 7 days a week until 9 pm (I am not sure about holiday hours). But I can always count on them to give me what my heart desires as long as I am there before it closes. And the tacos taste the same every single time. That is hard to do, friends! Lastly, the service. I usually see two main guys there and they are always very pleasant. They always get my order right and you always see them with a smile on their faces. If you couldn't tell, I love this place. Oh and pro tip, it's cash only!

You know the saying "if the place is packed it must be great?" Here at La Taqueria Espres that saying is absolutely spot on! The chicken tacos I feasted on were by far the most tangy, tasty, authentic Mexican duo I could hope for. We also tried the pork tacos which were excellent as well. The conversation in the fast moving line was welcoming and lively. The tacos were well wrapped, stayed nice and warm to eat at home. A causal Food Truck experience that will definitely be repeated soon. #YelpsGreatTacoTakeout

Taqueria Express on Ashley Phosphate Road in North Charleston is a great place to stop for all things real tacos and much more. Everything here is delicious, authentic, and flavorful. You get a lot for the prices and everything is very good. They are well worth the visit if you are in the area and you can take the food to go or eat it there.

Best tacos around. So good I've eaten here multiple times on the same day for lunch and dinner. The veggies are great too. The burritos are mediocre but no other taco is more authentic and tasty. Accepts cash only.

Tongue taco was the best, but all were amazing!

Perfect for a quick stop if you're craving tacos! Can't beat the price for such authentic tacos! The best taco truck in the Low Country!

Steak tacos plus cheese.

I can't say enough about this little gem. Amazing food truck!!! And very economical! The steak tacos are amazing! My son loves the burrito! It is huge too! The side vegetables are fresh and spicy. Perfect. You can't go wrong here. Friendly and fast! Don't let the area deter you from stopping.

It's a bit of a drive to get there from downtown or Mt Pleasant but oh my god, it is entirely worth it. There was just one person running the entire front of the restaurant, waiting every table, bringing out all of the food, and handling the checks. She was fantastic and the service was great. We ordered in Spanish (the best we could) and everything turned out well, but the menu is in both English and Spanish so you could just point to the things you want. I had the enchiladas which were amazing, highly recommend. Also ask for a flavored water (agua fresca), they had pineapple, cucumber and lime, and tamarin. The pineapple water (agua fresca de piña) was so good! This place is a diamond in the rough. It doesn't look like much on the outside but don't judge a book by its cover, it's the best Mexican restaurant in Charleston!

On our way to the airport one weekend, we saw the sign for what appeared to be a new restaurant in town, the family was hungry and we decided to give it a shot. Not expecting much, we ordered some authentic Mexican dishes: Lamb Barbacoa. Chilaquiles, Enchiladas and Horchata and Cucumber waters.... boy, were we so pleasantly surprised!!!!! FINALLY; delicious, fresh and truly authentic Mexican dishes!! For once everyone, wife, toddlers, teenage son, mother in law and I unanimously agreed, we're so delighted with this place that we have made it our go-to weekend breakfast spot. Service is super friendly, portions are generous, prices are fair. We hope this place keeps the great quality of the food for years to come. Congratulations to the chef, cooks and staff, all of you succeeded in making us feel at home.

We shopped and shopped and worked up an appetite. We walked into the tiny little restaurant and I immediately went onto my yelp app. The menu is NOT in English and I had no idea what I wanted so I used pictures as some sort of a guideline lol. My husband ordered enchiladas and we agreed, per usual that we would split everything. I ordered huarache and then last minute we decided to do an order of the plantains, (only one not pictures) sorry y'all they were delicious!!! The only flaw I saw was the guy in back, guessing owner, pretty much ran the entire show, which is badass, however I wished he wore gloves!! And then I almost ate both foil and wax paper from scraping the plastic to the bottom, it was worth it. We love finding authentic little places like this, they started with a food struck and now have this little hole in the wall place that packs a powerful punch! Oh and their green hot sauce that came in the soufflé cup was amazing! If not for my son, I would have drenched my food in it! So good! We would definitely come back, but I'd research the menu a little more before coming, so I can figure out what I want beforehand.

Pollo Loko - North Charleston, SC…read more The wife and I stopped into Pollo Loko for a quick lunch, not expecting much... and wow, what a surprise this place turned out to be. First off, the customer service was outstanding. The staff were incredibly friendly, welcoming, and genuinely made us feel appreciated from the moment we walked in. You don't always get that kind of attention these days, so it really stood out. The restaurant itself was spotless, well-kept, and had a great vibe. You can tell they take pride in the place. Now let's talk about the food -- because this is where they really shine. We started with the empanadas, which were absolutely delicious -- fresh, flavorful, and the perfect way to kick things off. For our main, we ordered the Peruvian chicken, served with fries and rice, and it did not disappoint. The chicken was cooked perfectly, packed with flavor, and paired incredibly well with their signature sauces -- seriously, those sauces take everything to another level. Even the salad was fresh and tasty, which says a lot because that's usually an afterthought at most places. On top of that, they've got a great selection of sodas and other drinks, making it a perfect stop for a casual lunch. Bottom line: An unexpected gem with amazing food, top-tier service, and a clean, welcoming atmosphere. **Highly recommend -- 5 stars, 3 thumbs up from us.

This is a fast casual style restaurant and not a real fancy place. My picky colleague who's never had peruvian ordered the ribs. Quesadiladas - you get 2 in an order and these are different than Mexican ones since they have grilled bell peppers and onions. A bit pricy too...the rice and beans that come with this are just average. They only had 2 salsas for the table, a green ranch like one and a red spicy one similar to a spicy Mexican red sauce. I'm still looking for a peruvian restaurant that has the spicy green sauce that most all peruvian restaurants have in California.

My friend and I arrived here for lunch and were seated right away. Our waitress was a no-nonsense, sassy young lady who I very much appreciated. She made me laugh and gave great recommendations. She commented that the corn tortillas are oddly sweet and not traditionally made so something to keep in mind if you're particular about your corn tortillas. I thought the food was solid. I had ordered three tacos - no sides - with two beef and one barbacoa. I thought it was very reasonably priced, tasty, and quick. That would be difficult considering I am completely bald and was wearing a hat. It only got worse from there. When the manager came over, her response was a casual, "It happens." No genuine apology. No concern. No accountability. The waiter then doubled down by telling me I would have never found the hair if I had not mixed my food together. Imagine blaming the customer for discovering a contamination issue in their meal. Finding a hair in your food is disgusting. Being insulted and blamed for it is unacceptable. The complete lack of professionalism, accountability, and basic customer service was shocking. If this is how they handle food quality issues, I can only wonder what happens behind the scenes.
