Since moving back to the greater Greensboro area, this has been my go to Mexican restaurant. I'm pretty picky when it comes to Mexican food because I've been spoiled with very authentic offerings in other states and across Mexico and usually find super American Tex Mex underwhelming. I love this spots because it caters to both the authentic and American Tex Mex pallet through its offerings. The only downside is that there is not an authentic house made mole dish which I am a sucker for! My go to dish is the Enchiladas Americanas with shredded chicken....I know I know, I just said I prefer authentic but who doesn't love a little American queso cheese sauce on their dish??? What enhances the dish is the green and red salsa that both have amazing flavors and you can tell they are made from scratch in house. The red is my go to because the flavor is very homey and comforting but when I want a bit of a kick I get green! The service is always great and welcoming. Searched places on here trying to satisfy a craving on a particular day. Found this and so happy we did! Of course, I always appreciate the places that give chips and salsa to start out! I've been here for both lunch and dinner. Portion sizes for both occasions are huge. Add that into the prices being very affordable, this place gives you excellent bang for your buck. Excellent food and great service. We had the Hawaiian fajitas and the Burrito Guerrero. Both were excellent. Their table salsa wasn't too spicy and very flavorful. We asked for mild and although it had an excellent flavor it was served warm. The cheese dip was good as well. Portion sizes were massive. We ate until we were stuffed and brought home enough for two more servings of each entree. The paintings in each booth are beautiful as well as the table tops. The bar side is separated from the table seating so that is good. We weren't given a ticket at the table but just walked up to the check in/out area and they rang us right up. Found this place via Yelp while doing some out of town training for work. Absolutely delicious. Friendly staff. Fresh food. First night I had chorizo pollo it was fresh and delicious. Chicken was not over cooked and the chorizo was not covered in the weird orange grease like you get sometimes with not actual chorizo. Second night I had 12 wings and out of the 12 only 2 flats were undercooked. That was ok because other then that the wings were cooked very well. Crispy on outside. Tender and juicy on inside. Taqueria Guerrero is the closest Mexican restaurant to my house, so I've placed takeout orders from them on three separate occasions since moving to the area eight months ago. Each time, I've thought "maybe this is an off night for them or I'm just not ordering the right thing." Perhaps that is the case, but after three less-than-mediocre experiences, I won't be itching to try them again. Some positives: our orders have always been correct, each time the employee on the phone has been pleasant, and the food is ready quickly. Unfortunately, quick and friendly service just can't overcome food that doesn't taste good. I've had quesadillas, tacos, rice, beans, and burritos, and of course their chips and salsa. None of these items have been flavorful, including the salsa, and the meat (especially the ground beef) is especially unappetizing. On this last order, I went with a combination dinner of a ground beef burrito and taco with rice and beans. The rice and beans were by far the best thing on the plate; I threw out the taco after two bites because the meat was so dry and the taco shell was overcooked. The burrito, sadly, wasn't much better. Hopefully my experiences are outliers, but I'll be checking out other Mexican restaurants in the area before returning. read more

The food is Great the choices are plentiful and mostly fresh. A couple of times it was good but not great. Most of the time the food is super authentic and tasty. They have a full bar and offer street style tacos in a variety of traditional flavors. The only knock would have to be they only have a couple of waitresses on site which means everything will take a while. Your glass will get empty but sometimes the food surpasses what I will accept as Blasé service. Give it a try. You won't be disappointed unless you are in a hurry. read more

Crazy good food here! I pass this place all the time but I never gave it any thought. I came for dinner with my neighbor last night and it was such an awesome experience. When you walk in, you sit wherever you like. I ordered the full ACP, strawberry margarita and a water. My margarita was pretty good. It was hard to drink as fast as I wanted due to all the large ice chips. The ice chips also helped with the alcohol taste. The food was absolutely amazing! Where shall I begin? My boyfriend and I went in to the restaurant for lunch one afternoon. I have never been there before, so maybe it was an off day for them? Regardless, the floor was covered with food when we walked in, the hostess took us to our table and the tables were sticky and looked like they were wiped down with grease. I opened the menu to look over the food options, and there was dried on food stuck to the menus. My boyfriend went to the restrooms to wash his hands, he came back to tell me that the bathrooms were disgusting and the doors didn't lock. There was no soap in the dispensers and they paper towels were covered in what he said "who knows what". It got us thinking, if the front and bathrooms look like this, no telling what the kitchen looks like. Needless to say, we got up from our table and left to go somewhere else. If you just dropped your wife off at Target and need four hours to kill, this is the place for you. Very efficient on the first drink as they want your order before your back pocket meets the rock-hard seat they call a seat. You'll have plenty of time to look over the novela, which is their kaleidoscope of monotony. After visiting the cashier to remind them your sticky table has not placed an order, your dry mouth sets in. Your request for a refill will fall upon a dead soul who will say "ok!" Your hope quickly fleets. But at this point you already know your fate. Your waitress will arrive to take your order. She listens intently as she interrupts your every third word with a stern "what?" Your food, which arrives quickly, is plentiful, overcooked, and crispy. Yumish. You think to yourself "maybe I will make it on time to pick up Michelle (or whatever you call your wife)" You will not. I ordered Torta "al pastor". It was NOT "al pastor" . Yes it was pork. And yes it was tender, however it was not "al pastor". "Al pastor" meat is a red color and has pineapple In it . Had a great lunch on my visit to Taqueria Guerrero, I was seated as soon as I walked in, no wait. The waitress brought chips & salsa to the table and took my drink order. I ordered my favorite Mexican drink, horchata and went with the sopes for lunch. Two al pastor and two chorizo. The sopes were awesome, the little fried corn masa bowls were perfect and were piled high with with the al pastor and chorizo both topped with lettuce, sour cream, avacado, tomato and queso fresca cheese with a layer of refried beans underneath it all. The chorizo was awesome, not too salty like some places, had great flavor as did the al pastor, but wasn't really any pineapplle or hint of pineapple juice sweetness to the pastor, was really more of a cuminy earthy flavor, it was a good version though to me. They also brought the housemade red and green sauces to the table, both were awesome, the red brings the heat, the green had a great jalapeno flavor. Definitely will be stopping back by when in the area, awesome food and outstanding service. They definitely have plenty of options on the menu. read more

My wife and I have been here twice. The service is poor, and the wait staff messed up our orders both times. The food was okay, but you never know what you're going to get. My wife's veg meal had sour cream all over it even though she asked for it without. My burrito was pretty okay, once I got past the sour cream (which I had been told was absolutely not going to be in there). I don't know if that was a problem in the kitchen or on the floor, but it means we're not going back. The one good thing here is the salsa. Ask for the spicy salsa, and they'll bring out two good salsas to mix with the regular stuff. read more
