From unsavory people hanging out front I are looking in your vehicles to approaching you for money to walk inside with a very long line of people. I ordered four tacos for $1.50 each so total of six dollars for four tacos. Thinking rice and beans wouldn't be that much. I decided to order rice and beans. And a Mexican Coca-Cola. I was done to see my bill for $18.48. There is no signage about the cost of rice and beans nor the cost of the soda. So after looking into it. I realized four dollars for the rice four dollars for the beans and four dollars for the soda so technically for rice and beans in a soda it came up for $12 +6 dollars for the four tacos. This is unbelievable. I definitely will not be coming back if this is how they charge customers. I asked for a menu and I was told there was no menu to look at the prices. Tacos were good because of the tortillas. But the meat was OK very small amount of meat by the way. This is not worth $18.48. Super slow service for a takeout asado burrito. I ordered it at 5:28 and waited for it almost 30 minutes. The self serve salsa bar is trash. Most salsas were empty, those that did have some left looked like they have been sitting out all day, no coverswith flies circling. Breakfast burrito was pretty good I'd say a 6 out of 20, the machaca was mushy and the egg was sparse. and aside from the insane price of $12.50 each which doesn't match the menu board above the register the place was ok. The salsa bar was as good but I feel they all kinda tasted the same and lacked flavor. If i was in the area again I'd probably opt for another place due to the price for what you get. read more

Be advised that service is slow here even if you are the only ones there but you can always get a good freshly prepared meal. Just found out they made chicken tinga tacos, so that's what I ordered. This restaurant (including coachella location) have been on the decline for several months now. We used to frequent these two locations often, but their quality has decreased substantially. I'm not saying they are the worse, but they certainly aren't the best. I call for a take out order. I was told over the phone that my order would be ready in aprox 20 min. When I got to the taco shop to pick up my order the cashier made me get in line to pay for my order where there was atleast 15 people infront of me ordering food. I found a place for Taco Tuesday in the desert! Tacos are only $1 on Tuesdays and Thursdays, which means watch out for the long lines! It seems like many locals come here to eat (and the entire menu is in Spanish), which means they should be authentic. It's in the plaza next to Del Taco/McDonalds but not in the same parking lot. You have to drive around to get to the other side of the brick wall. The taqueria is next to a small dark bakery (they sell donuts!), and they share the small private parking lot. There are no public restrooms here. Salsa bar has a bunch of different salsas. Pretty much all the salsas are spicy. The only one that was ok was the pico de gallo and guac salsa. There are multiple signs saying they'll charge you for taking extra salsa - both in Spanish and English. I tried 3 different tacos: carnitas, asada, and al pastor. They have other types of meat (someone posted a picture on their yelp page already). Of the three I tried, I like the asada best - flavorful and not too dry. Carnitas was very greasy and too salty. Al pastor was not bad/good enough crunch, but I've had better at Taqueria San Miguel in Thousand Palms (but I don't think they have taco Tuesday specials, boo). I'll probably be back on Thursday for more $1 tacos. read more

I have ordered from this restaurant time and time before. But yesterday I ordered 2 hard shells chicken tacos. I noticed something dark on my taco. I figured it was apart of the season halfway through and I look again, something is not right. There is mold on the tortilla shell deep fried with the chicken. This is very unsafe and disappointing. How could look at tortilla shell, see mold and still decided to deep fry it? The mold did not go away! Please do better as a restaurant and how you guys handle food safety! read more

Sad to write this review but something was not right tonight. It has been my go to spot for chevelas and tacos for years. I order 4 $1 tacos and it took 40 minutes! I was there waiting with around 6 others who all were just as frustrated and confused. The tacos were half the size as the normally were and I paid an extra $4 for sour cream and guac to be included. They put both the sour cream and guac in small containers on the side for what would be expected to be 50 cents. They handed my order with a salsa cup already spilled in the bag and did not flinch. As for the homeless person that was pacing I can understand that is not their fault but they did not handle the situation and allowed him to stay in the restroom burning plastic fork/spoon. I hope management reads the comments from myself and the 4 others who have posted reviews tonight. This experience was so unfortunate and they have lost a customer. read more

I hate taking a dump on restaurants and I don't do it often but this place was just like the reviews, SLOW. It took four employees 30 minutes for four tacos and rice and beans. The couple that ordered ahead of me got their food 15 minutes before mine and there seemed to be no rush by the cooks. Once my food was ready I saw them take it to another table so I went up and asked if it was my order.
