Open every Saturday at the Pearlridge Farmers Market from 8am to noon

Breakfast in Aiea, Oahu, Hawaii... Every Saturday morning from 8am to noon, Taqueria Hawaii is one of the 30 vendors at the Pearlridge Farmers Market. I saw this small business on KHON, Channel 2. This friendly couple opened their Food Truck in December 2023. They explained that their cuisine is a fusion of Chinese and Mexican because that's their cultures. For example, they have a taco that features a bao instead of a tortilla. I ordered a Vegan Bao Taco since the photo looked so appealing! It was delicious with lots of long rice and some chili essence! I also got a refreshing vegan horchata drink! It wasn't too sweet and had a nice cinnamon flavor! The pork taco was yummy, too! It's a traditional dish that really hit the spot! (Even though it was a bit spicy for me) Come over to Pearlridge Center and find their pink/silver/white Truck with the Mexican tunes playing in the background! Note: Service is very cheerful! The wife takes orders and scoops out the horchata while the husband prepares the food!

We took a ride out to pearlridge to try this taco truck and it did not disappoint. The owners are so friendly and the food is amazing. I loved the vegan tacos and the pork belly was really good too. The homemade spicy salsa was just right. I can't wait to go again

Tasty, creative tacos! The LA-style Mexican-Chinese fusion caught my eye, I definitely want to try the bao tacos next but wanted to try how they do carnitas. The meat was juicy and tender, but what surprised me is that I enjoyed the vegan one just as much. The corn tortillas were good too. They're onto something with this flavor combo, and I can't wait to try more of their menu. Service was friendly and personable. I almost took a star off because $5 per taco is a bit steep, but I'd say the high quality and unique specialties are worth it. Not pictured: their freshly made horchata made with mochi rice it was so refreshing on a hot day that I finished it before I sat down!

They were so nice, and friendly they went above and beyond by asking me if I wanted it spicy or mild while they made it fresh. It was clean. Seriously if there at your concert your lucky to have them.

The birria tacos were absolutely delicious, and everyone who came with me agreed that the tacos were bursting with flavor and had amazing meat.fantastic

Best birria tacos I've ever had and I'm from Texas. I got the chance to try it at the farmers market on a Sunday morning. So so so so good!!!

Stopped by the FARMLOVERS Market at Pearlridge Mall held Saturday morning just to explore what was available. This food truck captured my interest because I saw a vegan taco. I am from the southwest so I believe I know yummy Mexican food. This taco was a fusion of Asian and Mexican and was kind of cool to try. Loved the salsa, hint of cilantro and that spicy dry chili on the side which I crumbled on top for that kick of heat. The gentleman running this food truck was very pleasant and accommodating....this is a must try! You will enjoy this cute little Farmer's Market.

But what I didn't know was that they don't have a happy hour...they have a HAPPY DAY!!!!! 10-6 PM! So even though we were not really hungry cause we just had lunch, we ordered some crispy tacos...which are four minis. The day was getting happier and happier! The bartender was great! Friendly and attentive! And it still has the same great vibe to just relax and enjoy! Gracias and Mahalo El Ranchero!

Flavor was solid, portion was generous, and the food itself is the main reason I keep coming back. The ambiance is chill and local. Most of the afternoon crowd seemed to know each other, which gives the place a comfortable neighborhood feel. That said, the inside is a little dingy and could probably use a renovation. The issue on this visit was the service. When we got there, it was pretty empty, maybe 4 or 5 people sitting at the bar. The guy working behind the bar seated us, but then never brought menus, never brought water, and never came back to take our order. When my friend tried waving him down, he ignored us. Eventually another employee came in, and the bartender just told him, "Go take his order," without acknowledging us at all. I don't know if he was only working the bar that day, but he could have at least brought water, menus, or simply said someone would be right with us. Instead, the whole interaction came across as dismissive and unnecessary. Food was very good as always, but service matters too. Based on this visit, I'd call it 3 stars overall.

We're also not people who only enjoy fancy restaurants--we're just as happy grabbing musubi from 7-Eleven or pork hash from the Manapua Man. Good food is good food, regardless of where it's from. We placed an online order for pickup, and the first item we opened was the carne asada plate. Right away, everything looked very dry. The meat was tough and chewy, and the rice was clumpy and dry, almost as if it had been sitting out for a while. It wasn't a great first impression. The biggest disappointment, though, was the tres leches cake. We love tres leches and order it whenever we get the chance, whether it's from a restaurant, farmers market, or a local home baker. We ordered two slices. After one bite of the first slice, it had a distinctly sour taste that reminded us of spoiled milk, so we stopped eating it immediately. Before trying the second slice, we smelled it first, and it had the same spoiled milk smell. To make sure we weren't imagining it, we brought both slices to family members, and everyone agreed that they smelled like spoiled milk. At that point, we no longer felt comfortable eating the rest of our order. Although the horchata tasted fine, we ended up throwing everything away because we had lost confidence after the dessert experience. I can only speak on our experience, but unfortunately it was a very disappointing one. I understand that not every meal will be perfect, but serving a dessert that smelled and tasted spoiled was concerning. Hopefully this was an isolated incident, but based on our visit, we won't be returning.

Planning the "expedition" for Mexican grinds in Waipio/Waipahu…read more When Bruddah Fran C. and Sistah Gail U give a thumbs up to a restaurant, you have to stand up and take notice. I happened to be in the Waipio area, a rarity for me, and decided to see what might be worth taking back home. I had never heard of Acapulco but was in the mood for Mexican grinds and when yelpers Fran and Gail reviews popped up, I knew this was one to try. They have indoor and outdoor dining options. Both spaces are very clean. I ordered two plates to go. Both plates came with rice and beans which were delicious. The gave a nice quantity of food. My meal of choice was the combo chili relleno and a beef enchilada with the red sauce. Both were delicious and did not get drowned out by the sauce and cheese. Excellent balance and taste. With gas prices being what they are, coming here is only going to happen when I'm in the area. But the delicious taste will make me think hard for any excuse to get to Acapulco restaurant when I'm in the mood for Mexican grub.

I've moved over 60 times in my life and have eaten at multiple michellin rated restaurants, and I've only left about 2 or 3 reviews for restaurants. But please, please, please believe me when I say, the food here is PERFECT. The seasoning, the quality, every bite full of flavor and culture. This is THE BEST mexican on oahu, and could hold it's own even in the mainland. Please do yourself a favor and treat yourself to the food here. If you enjoy full bursting flavor in every bite and hate bland food. Then you OWE it to yourself to try this! Why the rating isn't a perfect 5 stars, I don't know, but I wish I could give this restaurant 10000 stars for the joy that their cooking has consistently brought me. Thank you for always being the best!

Said that we could sit at any open table. First time there, she gave us time to look over the menu. Good selection, one is ground beef which one of my dinning companion likes. Chips and salsa right off the back. Mmmmm. 1) Cheese Burrito plate. Very good. 2) Taquitos plate. Crunchy, not over cooked. 3) Tamale / taco combo plate. I loved that the taco didn't crack in half when I bite into it like some other taco places. 4) Ground beef chimichanga. All plates comes with Spanish rice and refried beans. Pros: Nice portions that would fill you up. Food came hot and fresh. Con: Maybe it might have been me but, I would have like more chip and salsa. There was only one server, so service was slow or maybe it was the kitchen. Not sure. I hate these 3% charge card when paying for your food. Would I go back? Maybe. It's close to where I live and it's not as crowded as other places that are more known. Parking is easy when I went. I like that my crunchy tocos don't break apart when you eat it.
