They need to fix their DoorDash setup, we ordered 5 tacos with onion and cilantro, but no other modifications and they were delivered to us completely plain. I had to drive back and they added toppings but at that point the tacos were cold. It also appeared like they didn't believe me and asked to see my DoorDash order. Tacos were okay, nothing special and not worth the $6-7 price per taco. Pork al pastor was also showing up as out of stock on the DoorDash app when it was an option in store. read more

We got the birria taco plate and it was so good, however, the elote wasn't for me. The texture was a bit off but otherwise everything was great. I'm not sure why the rating is so low for this place. We went on NYE around 7:20 PM and this place saved us. We had a reservation at Lazy Dog and they didn't even have a table for us at our reservation time. Luckily, Taqueria Invicto was open and and plenty of empty tables. We ordered our food at the two kiosks and our food came shortly after. This isn't the most authentic Mexican food but it did suffice. I ordered the 3 taco combo with refried beans and elotes and a pineapple drink. The meats were decent, nothing was tough or chewy. I added some sauce from the station to enhance the flavors. The elotes has a bit of heat to them but not bad. I liked how they used real pineapple in the drink. Service was very friendly. I'll give them a 5 star rating because we were able to receive our food, finish, and had plenty of time before our next activity. read more

Who doesn't like homemade tortillas , rice, and beans and chips with every meal? We started off with their Papas Especial, and this was surprisingly good. There is so much food in this dish that it could be considered a full meal. We suggest splitting an order of this just like we did. Then we had Camarones (shrimp), AL Pastor (pork), tacos, and a Quesabirria plate. Both the shrink and pork tacos were very good, but we loved the quesabirria tacos. The meat was very moist, and the dipping sauce was excellent. We also had a Grande Plate with 1 taco, 1 vampiro, 1 sope, rice, beans, and chips. An excellent choice if you want a little variety. To drink, we ordered a Churro shake (really delicious) and a Horchata cold brew (refreshing and tasty). For dessert, we picked up a couple of El Pinguino Paletas that were flavorful and refreshing. Decided to try this place after trying their food from a work event that had their take out. Location, convenient in a strip mall like area so plenty of parking. This is not a reservation type of place, it's more like a first come first serve fast food like seating. You order at one of the self serve kiosks and grab your food when they call your number. You can see the kitchen from your seats so you know how they prepare food, etc. Ordered the 2 taco dinner which comes with rice and beans, tortilla chips, a roasted pepper (I think it was a serrano) chicken and al pastor tacos. Tortillas are hand made in house, those were so good. The chicken was good, the al pastor could've been better. It didn't seem like the type of al pastor that's cooked on the vertical rotisserie thing at least I didn't see one. They have a salsa bar which is good, you can pick your own salsas to try. Drinks: they do have a bar and offer some basics like margaritas, palomas, micheladas and beer. In our group we each ordered a margarita, paloma and michelada. The drinks were just okay, definitely not made with fresh ingredients and not the quality you would expect at a sit down restaurant with a full bar and bartender. The staff was friendly and welcoming, super helpful when we asked for some extras as well. I've always wanted to post reviews because I feel like honesty is super helpful, so here it goes. My family and I went to Taqueria Invicto and tried a bunch of things, but honestly... I wouldn't go back. The good: The Hot Cheeto Burrito with the veggie filling was actually pretty solid. It's different and worth trying if you're near one of their locations. The salsa bar was great, and the Churro Shake wasn't bad--probably a 6.5/10. The not-so-good: We also tried the veggie tacos and a plain burrito. They were okay, but not worth a return trip. What really frustrated me was the lack of customization. For example, I just wanted basic veggies like onion and bell peppers, but they'd only let me do a full veggie mix with random stuff I didn't want. It made no sense because some items were customizable, but others weren't. Plus, everything was ordered through a self-serve kiosk, which made it even harder to adjust anything. They've got spots in Des Plaines, Naperville, Oak Brook, and Vernon Hills, so if you're into trying a Hot Cheeto Burrito, it might be worth it. But if you're vegetarian or picky about your toppings? The skinny was more citrus forward- this is my go-to for margaritas (diabetic) and I like the pucker! Oh, we also had delicious foods. Looking for modern, street Mexican? Invicto is the spot! This is the third location of Invicto's I've visited and by far the coolest designed space. This location is also slightly bigger than Naperville and Vernon Hills but same concept. One orders off a kiosk, is given a number, and staff will call out when food is ready. I visited on a Sunday for lunch but it was not crowded at all. All food is made to order so it can take some time; but our orders were ready today in minutes. I got my favorite, the nacho burrito, which comes stuffed with everything you can think of and hits the spot every time. I also love the salsa bar to add another layer of flavor to any dish ordered. Prices are a bit higher than other Mexican spots but ingredients always taste fresh. My only complaint upon visiting was that the music playing was far too loud. Either way... If one is ever in the Oak Brook area, give Invicto a try. read more

This is seriously some of the best Mexican food in Chicago! My family always comes here after going to the arboretum. Their tacos and salsas are the best. I (very) highly recommend the chicken and carne. Many people also love the quesa birria. They used to do a sweet red salsa that I dearly miss - hope it comes back! I found this restaurant through TikTok! First, I'd like to say that this restaurant and vibe is really cute - well thought out in terms of giving a "Mexican" feel. We ordered Carne Asada tacos, Birria Tacos, Chips & Cheese w/Chorizo, Elote, Horchata and a Jamaica. My general review on the food itself: it was just ok and the food was slightly cold. I think the rice and beans definitely had flavor but everything else was moderate. I wouldn't say that the food gives authentic mexican flavors. This place had amazing food! I forgot to take pictures! I had a bowl with chicken. I liked the added pepitas in it. The salsas are awesome! They have about 8 or so. The chips are homemade and fresh. My husband had the ground beef tacos which were very flavorful. My daughter loved her tacos too. I tried the margarita and it was a decent size and good mix for 8.99. The horchata was creamy. The staff were very friendly. You order on a device and then they call your number. The place was busy on a Saturday night at 6. The couple on the kiosk next to me had problems ordering as well. They walked out. I could not customize an item on my order the way I wanted it. I asked a second time if I could order with a live person. I was told "no sir." I walked out. Fuck these assholes!!!
