Stopped here for a late lunch. It was not crowded so there were many open tables. I was allowed to sit wherever I liked. I passed many available tables because they had not been cleaned. (There was only one person serving so she was probably busy.) I ordered the chicken enchilada plate and a steak taco. The chicken enchilada plate came with 3 enchiladas, rice and beans and salad. It was good. The enchiladas had a lot of chicken and I liked that the salad was more than just lettuce and tomato. I ordered a steak taco just to see how the tacos were and I wasn't disappointed. Decided to try this Mexican restaurant in the suburbs and it's not what you would expect from a Chicago Mexican restaurant. The menu looked good but that was the extent of that. The carne asada had no flavor to it and the hot sauce's didn't help. The hot sauces were not spicy at all. They served chips and salsa but they do charge an extra $5 for a refill. We ordered the taco plate that comes with 3 tacos of your choice, rice and beans. We chose one chorizo which was good and had plenty of meat. It came with onions and cilantro. The other two were carne asada which was fatty and bland. The rice and beans were not even warm. Disappointed to say the least. Service was fast and our waitress was friendly. There were only 4 people in the restaurant when we walked in. The place is nice and cozy, nice bar area, tv's on the walls, music playing but not a place I would visit again. After my visit to the chiropractor. I saw this lit up sign that said Tacos. So I drove over and went inside to place an order. The lady behind the counter wasn't so friendly. But I overlooked her unpleasant facial expressions. I was hungry and ready to eat. Nice spacious and clean restaurant. There is even a nice size bar inside this place. Well, it isn't every day you can order a Pambazo for lunch. Actually, I have never had a pambazo in a restaurant before. For those wondering what a pambazo is, it's a sandwich, made from a bolillo (a Mexican type bread) dipped and fried in a red guajillo pepper sauce and filled with papas con chorizo topped with lettuce, sour cream, cheese, avocado, anything you want. There is a bread called pambazo, but you can use a bolillo, same delicious results. This pambazo was pretty legit, I was actually kind of surprised. It was a very good portion I got, and I had the second half for lunch the next day. Now, the salsas, I base if a Mexican restaurant is good, based on their ability to make good salsa. The salsa we got when we sat down was ok, it reminded me of a salsa made in a molcahete, with the large chunks of jalapenos. The salsas we got for our meal were fantastic! The green one was creamy and spicy, the red one was full of flavor and spicy as well. Of course, being the psycho that I am, I put both of them on my pambazo. 100% My friend had the taco dinner with ground beef and she enjoyed those too. Nothing great about ground beef tacos though. We were seated right away and the service was fast. I'll have to go there for dinner so I can get a full idea of this place. For now though, I recommend it. read more

This location just opened three weeks ago. The wait staff were very friendly and attentive. Jennie our waitress was nice enough to go and ask the cooks what type of chilis they use for their spicy red Diablo salsa (chile de arbol). We were greeted with fresh baskets of chips and salsa. We ordered the super nachos, tacos, burrito, and torta. All were delicious with the stand out meats being the Asada and Carnitas. New to the area and I love Mexican food. I relocated from Houston which has a vast amount of good Mexican food choices. I had a taste for something simple, tacos. And wanted something close to home. This place is only 2.6 miles away. So it won the lottery for the night. I ordered my husband 7 BBQ wings. I tried one of them and they were good. They could use more sauce though. But they were seasoned really well and fried hard just like we like them. I had 2 chicken tacos with cilantro and onion. They were pretty good! I love the red sauce. It's spicy. Now to the not so good. I also ordered 2 flank beef steak tacos. I'm not a huge beef eater so I thought I was ordering like a fajita type beef taco. Nope. Ot was some very fatty cubed cute beef steak. It was awful!!!! It had so much fat on each piece. Again, I'm not a huge beef eater so maybe that's normal for this cut of meat. I literally took each cube of meat oit of the taco and pulled the fat off. It was bland also. I would go back but I will never order this specific taco again. Gross! read more
