Left to Right: Great Lakes beer battered Walleye taco, Flank Steak Banh Mi taco, Shrimp taco
Adam K.

An interesting place. Clearly popular, the whole place was packed and loud. A little overstimulating, but usually that's a good sign that the food offerings are good. The menu is clearly Latin-inspired with a heavy emphasis on tacos, but they aren't afraid to stray from tradition and try unconventional combinations of ingredients. Some traditional options they have are Puerto Rican budin dessert, Peruvian chicha morada (purple corn drink - not my favorite, but worth trying if you've never had it - one of our party got it), and some aguas frescas, including passionfruit, which my wife opted for. There's a variety of salsas and guacamole. Fun for some, but if you're getting hangry and just want something fast, it can be a bit much. We also got some house margaritas for the table - not bad but nothing to write home about. I got three different tacos - the Great Lakes Beer Battered Walleye, which was nicely cooked, as well as the the Flank Steak Banh Mi and the Shrimp tacos, both of which were okay. Two folks in our group are vegetarian, and Crave offers a few vegetarian taco options like the vegan chorizo taco and Impossible burger, but you can swap out any meat for a plant-based one (there is an upcharge though). The bathrooms were clean, but kind of dim. The soap dispenser was positioned super high so my 7 year-old couldn't reach it to wash his hands and I imagine someone using a wheelchair couldn't either. Our waiter was nice, but sometimes disappeared for a long stretch. For as busy of a night as it was, I'm guessing that's to be expected. The prices are okay, but add-ons and variety of things to try means it can add up fast.

Disgusting used glass not washed properly (or at all.)

Bad bad bad. Came in at 8:25 on a Saturday and found the place absolutely emptied with the exception of a very loud friend group at the bar making homophobic remarks. Bartender had some loud remark about selling foot pictures- appetizing! (not.) Extremely quiet music played with nothing to drown the noise out- just bad. Portions were so awful given the ridiculous price per taco, and it seems clear that they are lacking the money to keep this place open. Guacamole was worse than bad and my taco was measly for $6. Do not waste your money on this place for any reason other than alcohol. Should've taken it as a warning when the most recent review was 5 months old. My glass of water had lipstick marks from a previous user (I dined without any makeup.) Picture provided- absolutely disgusting. Owner needs to cut his losses and shut this place down.

My husband and I had a date night here recently after not having visited in a few years. We sat at their beautiful bar area. The service from our bartender was very good. She was extremely friendly and attentive. She made the smallest error with our order and fixed it immediately once she was notified. My husband was pleased with the beer selection and I enjoyed my wine. Out of my husband's taco order, his favorite was the barbecue brisket taco, which I sampled and also thought was delicious. I thoroughly enjoyed my walleye taco. While these aren't incredible tacos, they are very good and didn't sit too heavy at all. We also loved the variety of creative tacos listed on the menu. While we like the idea of the trio of salsa, we didn't think it was that good and would not order it again. Overall, very good experience and planning a trip back soon!

Shattered leaking water glasses

I was really disappointed here. I went last a few years ago and it was great- this time was gross. There was a hair in my margarita, (I didn't even take 1 sip the hair came out of the drink when I took the mixing straw out) and when I asked the waitress for a new one she said "oh... okay", took it to the bartender who looked very confused. No one ever apologized. Both of our water glasses were cracked at the bottom, and leaking. The chefs in the kitchen weren't wearing any hair nets. One was wearing a beanie but he had a long beard with no cover. The other male had no net, and rubber gloves on which I saw him run his nose with the back of his hand many times. The food was way expensive for small portions.

Vegan Quesadillas, Vegan burrito, Vegan Chorizo Taco

Wanted to go to a restaurant on a random weekday evening and grab something vegan and found this place on yelp and was pleasantly surprised we got a Vegan Chorizo Taco, vegan burrito, and vegan quesadilla. Everything was delicious! Even the cheese and sour cream pictured was vegan which I appreciated because most restaurants aren't as thorough. Our server was even vegan and shared recommendations!

Smoking Mango Marg

Met with a friend for happy hour which is 4-6pm. Certain margs are $5 and the rest are $1 off. Started with the smokin mango margarita & then the guava cabo, i loved the Tajin rim. Also the glasses that they came in were so cool! The chips & guac was amazing as well, the chips were tossed in a spice mix which was so good I'd buy if to use at home. I enjoyed the menu, they offered some different takes on tacos, such as alligator tail and steak banh mi tacos. The alligator taco was so freaking good, there's caramel popcorn on top as well which counters well with the spicy sauce on top. The service was wonderful & sitting outside is great people watching on Front street. I will definitely be back to try more.

Pitchers Margaritas? Yes please!

Could not get timely reservations for Crave downtown, so we decided to celebrate my love's birthday at Crave Cantina on Front Street. Word on the street was mixed, but Tequila shots and Margaritas have become a tradition. Went emerald for drinks at the bar. Mindy was awesome. A surprise on the starter. Having lived in South Florida we adore fried plantains- not expecting the grilled steak and sauce that came with. Exciting addition contrasting the sweetness of the plantains. Wife went for the tacos and loved the duck confit. Interesting choice for a taco, and it was on point. I went seafood - a diversion for me really, but the Tequila was helping me make decisions. Paella? Okaaaay? Really? Paella! Really though? Yes, dang-it, I said Paella! The mussels and shrimp - well prepared. But, sometimes things fall apart. Have you ever had the "hot sauce" rice dish at a Barberton Chicken place? That was the rice. Too brothy. Not seasoned well. Not paelle worthy. Had a good time. Host staff was great and Mindy was super.

BBQ brisket is obviously a number 1 pick. BUT don't sleep on the flank steak taco. If your not feeling tacos , the Mac & cheese..... GAME CHANGER. Holy moly. Paired with a passion fruit marg. Chefs kiss.

We discovered Amigos a couple years ago, when seating was very limited, but they recently expanded and the decor is more inviting and authentic. We've tried a lot of things on this menu and have never been disappointed. Our food has always been fresh and plentiful, served with a smile. Two things I can ecstatically recommend: their house guacamole and their margaritas. Their hearty and bold guacamole is made fresh to order right at your table and it's become our favorite guacamole. We love their mango margaritas. We have found chunks of mango in ours, and make certain to always get the rims coated with tajin because they use tamarind to get the spice to stick to the rim--so tasty! This is a really enjoyable restaurant we always look forward to visiting!

Agavero is located in the large shopping plaza along Howe Avenue in a couple of store fronts. Inside is a medium sized restaurant decorated with orange walls and wood with larger paintings on the walls, the feeling is nicely Mexican without being hokey or over the top. The menu is extensive and prices are reasonable. I ordered the #4 lunch special, a Chile Relleno with rice and beans. Chips and salsa were quickly brought to the table; both were ok the chips were fresh and the salsa was thick and mild, I did add some hot sauce to spice it up. My lunch came out very quickly, the plate was pretty and the food was nicely fresh and hot. The Chile Relleno was interesting, with no batter and a very mild chili pepper. The Salsa Verde on top was bright and vibrant. The beans and salsa were both good with mild flavors and nice texture. Overall the food was good, although the flavors were a bit muted for my taste. Agavero is a nice place to grab some solid Mexican food, but I did find the food to be a bit tame. Prices are good and the service was great, but I am always looking for bright and exciting flavors.

Paleteria La Fresa also has a rotating stock of homemade popsicles in familiar and unique flavors, from strawberry to avocado to Mexican custard! My Yelp friend who joined me for dinner and dessert there a few days ago has tried at least a dozen flavors - her favorite is avocado. This was my first visit to this restaurant and spent some time looking at the pantry stuff for sale (didn't get anything) and debating which flavor of popsicle to get for my first visit here, before ordering two Mexican street tacos and one carne asada sopes for dinner. My meal also came with unlimited chips and salsa which we immediately demolished! Ultimately, I chose to get the Mexican cake popsicle flavor which was so smooth and creamy and milky and then crunchy with Mexican chocolate slabs inside! It was very refreshing, unique, and not very expensive at 3 bucks. My tacos were saved for later (and tasted delicious a couple hours later at home) but I ate the sopes at the restaurant. It was generously piled with carne asada and the corn pancake was 1000/10! I will absolutely order sopes again! For $16.50, I had a lot of food, a nice treat, and great company. I plan to come again!
