Many good meals were enjoyed back in the early 2000's when our family lived in Tracy. Back then I had never had such good beans since I was a kid. Living in the valley you can get really authentic tasting food. We eventually moved and didn't return to town. I thought I'd take a chance after all these years to stop in for a bean burrito. Surprisingly it was still open and still the same owners. Prices were pretty good compared to the bay area. Portion is middle of the row and good for the price. Wait time for a to-go order of two burritos and a taco was longer than expected. Was looking forward to that first bite to taste if things had changed. For the most part it was still tasty and close to the food back then. Beans were light. Tortilla was fresh. Breakfast burrito was average with eggs, potatoes, bell pepper, beans, bacon and ham. It was light on cheese. Then came the shock of opening the container with my crunchy taco. I couldn't help but me disappointed. It was not even worth serving. I'm not sure if they double fried it or just burnt it but it was so dark that it didn't even resemble a corn tortilla shell. There are many things I like about the restaurant but with lack of care for food being put out, I see why there are not better ratings and the place isn't full. It seemed staffed well but perhaps demand of orders was the cause of them giving me a nearly black taco. I probably won't be back. So sad. read more

I have lived in Tracy for almost 20 years. I've tried most places at least once. A few places, like Ofelia's never made the list, mostly because somewhere else that I tried first hit a home run. I have a go to taco place, a go to burrito place, a go to cerviche place, etc ... They are all different. I had a nacho place, too, but it closed a while back. I was really craving nachos. So today I decided to kill two birds with one stone, try Ofelia's and maybe find a nacho place. Mistake. Nacho portion size? Generous. Ditto with the carne asada and beans. Not so much with the pico. Or the sour cream and guacamole, but that's expected. What I couldn't get past was the flavor. Chips? Bland. Beans? Bland. Meat? Bland. The pico was good, but there was only a sprinkle of it. Even a bit of salt would have helped. I only ate 1/4 of it and that's because I was hungry. Now, I will give them another shot. They have been around a while so I'm betting there's something they do really well. It's just not nachos. Right now, they are a 2.5 for me. If you go , take your hot sauce. read more

The food and the service was great. First time here just driving through. I ordered two chicken tacos with extra cilantro and wow they impressed me quite a bit. I've been to a lot of Taqueria's and this one impressed me a lot. This was not greasy. This was big chunks of chicken, tender, not dried out, it was juicy succulent, chicken. I had the green salsa on the chicken tacos and a side of the spicy salsa that can put on top as needed, and it was amazing! I love the freshness. I loved the big chunks of cilantro made it more fresh and the crunchy tortilla on the outside they pan fry it really nice makes it light, but not too greasy and has a good crunch for a very flavorful soft taco tortilla. I'm a regular, go there often. I order the same stuff every time I go. It's either Huevos Rancheros or the Chile Relleno plate. Both the best in Tracy for the main item. But it doesn't stop there. I'll start my review by stating we came in on a Sunday afternoon an hour before closing and the staff was friendly to greet us and sit us down. My friend and I weren't sure what to order on the menu and they were helpful with suggestions and quick to prepare our food. I thought the prices were reasonable for the portions that we got and the flavor was better than I was expecting based on some of the negative reviews. I would definitely want to come back here again and give more of their options a try if I'm passing through the area again! Ofelia's Taqueria is a small corner shop on Tracy Blvd. the best description is Mom And Pop, serving. Good food without fanfare, just a solid place to eat. I had the Chile Colorado, very tender pork bites with a tasty red sauce. Perhaps a bit salty for some, but it suits my tastes very well. Served with beans and rice, it made a complete meal and I was full. For me, I'd give an extra half star for service, they were very attentive and polite. Heard about Ofelia's Taqueria when I was on a ski lift with a stranger in Kirkwood (south Lake Tahoe). My friend and I decided to check it out after a long day of snowboarding. My friend and I both loved it. I ordered the carne Assada super burrito. The rice was fresh and flavorful which complimented the refried beans and salsa very well. The server told me they are known for their carne asada and she was right. The asada was seasoned well, crispy, and freshly cooked. The burrito as a whole reminded me of home cooked style burrito that my roommate's mom from college made us. If you have enough room for dessert, I highly recommend the coconut ball they have in the front... my absolute favorite! The servers were very kind, even though we were the last ones there on a Sunday night before they closed. Authentic ambiance inside the taqueria as they have nice artwork on the wall. So the good - the beans are fab, the chips are good. Also they got our order correct which is an ongoing problem at our fave CalMex in town, which is closed on Wednesdays.... Also we had no problems with service but we ordered to pick up. Now the problems. I had huevos rancheros and they were oddly sweet and had green pepper in them. We also ordered guacamole she asked if I wanted plain guacamole or with everything, which she said was tomato, cilantro, onions. I said everything - if I wanted mashed avocado I would ask for that. Sadly it was watery, sweet and nothing like guacamole. This was more like the guacamole stuff they sell in the grocery store made by national corporate offices. My son's quesadilla with carne asada had chewy meat. He didn't like the rice either which is usually a staple for him. There is too much good authentic Cal Mex in this town. 7/11/2021- Went to here for lunch. Had the worst service and experiance ever at any restaurant. Waited over half an hour after ordering food and other people that came in after us received their food first. After 40 min we got up and left. No server ever came to our table to ask if we needed refills or update us on our food. There was no AC and the ceiling fans weren't blowing any air around. I never feel inclined to review a restaurant but I just wanted to say Ofelias is always 10000/10. They're like one of the only places on DoorDash that lets me add special instructions/preferences. I have an egg allergy and it's really helpful when I can let the team know omit eggs in my breakfast burrito. I want to preface this review by stating that I've been eating here since 2017 when I moved to Tracy and today was my 1st issue. The issue is enough to make me never come back. We typically call in our order and it is the same order every time. 4 shrimp burritos with asada added and extra sour cream. When I called, there was no answer. I went to the website to be sure the number was correct and the website was nonexistent. Red flag. No phone and no website? I decided to go there to see if they were in business and the open sign was on. I was happy. I went in and waited in line. The person before me ordered and was told to pay at the end. I placed my 4 burrito order and was told my cost was a whopping $82.00. we never pay more than 50 bucks. I was put off by that but was still willing to pay. She asked for my card right then.....the lady before me could pay at the end but I needed to pay right then? Okay, no problem. Didn't say a thing just paid. I waited for my food and went home. I just so happened to check my bank information and discovered I was charged $98 and not the $82 that was on my receipt. I was LIVID! I tried again to call, but oh yeah, the phone is broken! So I drove back and was told they did nothing wrong. I do not know how the receipt says $82 but my bank say $98 but $100 for 4 burritos? BE FOREAL! Did she add a tip with out telling me? I was fortunate to find this wonderful taqueria just about a month ago, and quickly it's become my #1 Go To restaurant for honest to goodness, authentic Mexican cuisine. The staff is very friendly and accommodating, the venue is very clean and authentic, the price point for the amount of food you are given is a bargain and the taste and flavor is amazing! Oh I love this place. If I am craving for soups like pozole, menudo are available all week unlike other mex. restaurant that serves only on weekend. The soups is really good and stands out the rest I've tasted (this is my favorites) the other taquerias is from Pleasanton which is also good. Tacos is yummy as well it has that distinct taste 2nd from the restaurant near the cinema in Concord (for me the best taco). Anyway I'm Asian and the taste really fits for my palate. My first and only review and these folks deserve it. I've been coming here for almost 10 years and not just me. But me and my whole family which btw i come from a family of 9 siblings so you can only imagine the business we bring here. So to my point as it will be short. These "business" owners decided not to accept cardless pay from my samsung device because the "owner" doesn't want to take that form of payment? So what if some folks just dont want to hand over there physical card? This is a very dumb policy, as cardless pay is ideal for times like now (covid-19...) This really needs to be reconsidered during these times. Why lose business even if you have to pay out of your pocket a few more bucks for this "transaction" fee. I ordered 2 burritos, 2 carne asada tacos, 1 lengua taco, 1 carnitas, and 1 al pastor with everything, (i even said "con todo por favor" ) to make sure we separate the language barrier if any. when i got home, my lengua is missing, and the tacos, all i had was meat and tortilla. no onions, no cilantro, no con todo, nada! and the carne asada, not sure wtf was that.. don't come here.. you better off walking to La Plaza in the same shopping center complex and you most likely will have a better food. read more

Service is good and food tastes good, but they're super tight with their tortillas (they only give you two with your order when other restaurants give at least three) and they usually mess up your order. Be sure to check you food to make sure you're not being short changed! My menudo orders consist of a pata when I asked for none and no hominy. It was almost ALL broth. read more

Stopped in this little slice of heaven for an amazing chorizo and egg breakfast with homemade corn tortillas with a perfectly ripe half avocado. We ate outside with the sun shining on us and forgot we were in little strip mall in Tracy. The server was super attentive, friendly and kind. Honestly these review are not consistent with my experience. The salsa is mild but who cares? If you want some spice - just ask for it! If fresh amazing beans, delicious rice and the best ever tortillas make your day then you'll be happy here. The omelette my husband had was huge and he was super happy. We had zero complaints except it's far from our home. My husband and son have been coming here for 20 years while traveling to play sports. Love this place and won't pass by it ever again! read more

Since I moved here in the valley I've been trying to find a new *favorite taqueria to go to. Every one I've been to so far I've had great experiences. I have passed by Ofelia's countless times and it was time for me to try it out. Coming in it feels like going into an average taqueria and I was helped right away. The dude was nice because I was eating in I paid after. After finding a table I was given a complementary bowl of chips and salsa (which is pretty much an automatic turn on when it coms to taquerias). And shortly after, I received my 3 Al Pastor Tacos ($1.75 ea!); comes with lime on the classic paper plate. They're of course small, about 4.5 inch in diameter but very filling. The taste of the meat was great and the texture was spot on. I left this place happy and satisfied. Is it my favorite place? The quest continues lol. read more

Not sure why there aren't more reviews for this place. We stopped here on our way to Yosemite. The tacos were very good and the guac was fresh. When our food was brought out we asked about the guacamole. She left to go check and came back with a nice sized serving. While we we were sitting and eating we realized that we had not paid for it. Actually, I think we miscommunicated with the the lady that took our order. I went to pay for the order, but she would not accept payment. She was very kind and generous about it.
