I recently gave this place a second chance and I am glad I did. I visited twice on separate occasions, once dining in and once ordering takeout, and both experiences were very good. The food was pleasing and felt much more dialed in than before. When dining in, the restaurant was clean, organized, and well lit. Customer service was attentive and helpful, especially when describing the menu. For takeout, everything was packed thoughtfully with chips, all three different salsas, napkins, and utensils included. The cashier was friendly and well mannered. This place has been one of the Top 5 restaurants in Pacifica for ...mmm 5-6 years now. During Covid their awesome Tortilla Chip and condiment bar was shut. They included a fair, but minimal selection of salsas and a small bag of chips with each order. Not sure how eat-in orders went. We never ate in. So now, the chip bar is back. Great hot chips, 3 salsas: Tomatillo, pico de gallo, and a slightly spicy orange thing, whatever that's called. Also, lime wedges, rabanito, pickled veggie and chilis. It's pretty much everything you need. I was there with my buddy John - un gavacho - but his girlfriend is Guatemalan, so he knows real food. I had pork quesadillas, I think. Very easy on the cheese, but lots of good stuff inside, folded, thick, toasty. No complaints. John ordered enchiladas. They weren't right. Not sure why. He just said they didn't taste right. Not like, a going-bad "not right", just kind of a wrong ingredients "not made right." I saw lots of beans and cheese but not ingredients I usually see in enchiladas. Part of getting the good time in any food joint is knowing what they make best and what to stay away from. I choose to cut them slack on this occasion, they've made so many good meals before. I'm bummed to leave this review. Ordered a plate of shrimp fajitas for my dinner tonight. Unfortunately popped one into my mouth before noticing another shrimp that hadn't been cleaned of it's digestive tract. Checked another. And another. None of them had been cleaned. We called la Perla and all she kept saying was that that was the shrimp they always use and that's how they arrived at the restaurant. Ok..but then you're supposed to clean them. It's literally poop. We had ordered from door dash but wanted them to know anyways in case they had a new cook or something that didn't know to clean the digestive tract out. This spot has grown on me. Great service, wonderful selection (especially for those who actually want a decent veggie option or two). Clean on the inside, nice tables, etc. The thing I really like is that their salsa bar has gotten better recently. My partner said that pre-Covid it was really great, and then things like salsa bars were no longer a thing and it took a while to get them back. Great food and friendly staff. We were craving Mexican food and found this local gem. Super nachos with carne asada (5/5): lots of toppings on the nachos. The carna asada was flavorful and not over cooked. Would definitely order again. Al pastor burrito (4/5): great flavor with generous amount of Al pastor. Next time I would order it without rice. A key thing I use to ensure a mexican restaurant is going to be good is if they have menudo. Even more stars if the menudo is only made on Sundays. I'm from Southern California and it's been a struggle finding an authentic taco place in the SF Area. This is as close as I could find in the immediate SF area. The pastor is chefs kiss. Menudo was flavorful and loaded with trip. To my surprise they included a lot of pork knuckle as well. Service was great, the cashier made sure we had our chips refilled. Classic taqueria vibe. Make sure to bring cash so you get a 3% discount. Parking lot is small but there's plenty of street parking. Will be back read more

I've ordered from this restaurant twice through door dash. I enjoy their chicken soup. Yesterday I decided to visit the restaurant. My friend and I ordered 3 items. We were given a basket of chips and little containers for salsa. We were really hungry so I asked for more chips and another little container for more salsa since they had a variety and I wanted to try them all since I was there. Our food arrived and the portion was a lot less than what I usually receive through Door Dash. I didn't complain I ate as much as could and requested a to go box and chips as well so I can enjoy them later. Then man at the counter asked me to pay for the little bag of chips. I didn't say anything but most taquerias give you chips and salsa based on how many items you order. I declined and left. Moving forward I will stick to the Taqueria in San Bruno. It's unlimited chips and salsa. Their salsa is so much more flavorful. We were so excited to find a new burrito place in Pacifica. The front-of-house ordering process seemed so effortless. It never dawned on us that the orders were not even accurate.  We ordered three burritos. Two out of the three burritos had missing components. One had rice added and no beans. Another had no rice but used pinto beans instead of refried beans. The third burrito not only missed all the key ingredients but was not edible. It truly saddens me because I trusted the great reviews anas so greatly disappointed. I ordered shredded chicken in red sauce burrito, no rice, cheese, and refried beans. It's easy to overlook this hole in the wall taqueria, located in a tiny shopping center in the northern end of Pacifica. The parking lot is small and tight. Finding a spot to park can be a problem at times and it is easy to get stuck when other people are also trying to enter/exit from both ends of the parking lot. This has happened to me more than once over the years. There is some seating at the restaurant. It is much easier to call in your order so that it is ready by the time you head over there to pick up. Unless you're heading straight home, ask for utensils if you plan to eat nearby (at the beach?) because they're not automatically included in your bag. Came here today because I had a craving for ceviche tostadas and this place did not disappoint! It's not much on the outside - looks like a standard strip mall shop with a VERY small and crowded parking lot, but inside it's a mecca for yumminess. I highly recommend the ceviche tostadas- they are generous with the portions and the avocado. Flavor is on point and I love that it's a combination of both shrimp and fish. I'm very torn about this one, because I enjoyed my Carne Asada burrito... But nobody else enjoyed their dishes. My mom ordered a veggie burrito and this had heavy cumin/curry flavors which didn't taste like Mexican food. The rest of my family ordered chicken burritos, and this had little flavor and the chicken tasted like it was coded in thick oil/lard. The rice was fine, although it lacked seasoning and tasted a bit bland. Also: THEY ARE SO STINGY WITH SALSA! They refused to give us anything more than one extra aside from the sauces that came with, but the sauces it came with we're not even enough for everyone's food. Tucked away in a shopping center, right across the street from the McDonald's, you'll find a solid taqueria to fulfill that burrito craving. Anytime I try somewhere new, I'm going to order a steak and shrimp burrito! Food was closer to a 3.5 for me. The beef had a lot of good flavor, but from a texture standpoint, it was softer than I typically prefer. The shrimp they put in there were huge. Flavor was ok, but I think I'll stick to their regular meats next time. They toast the tortilla after the burrito has been wrapped and made, and so you know it's going to come out piping hot. Their salsa and self serve chips are a great touch. Their green salsa and orange salsas were good. I added some of their red onions with diced habaneros for an added kick. Hands down the best taqueria in Pacifica. The al pastor tacos and burrito are some of the best I've ever had and are ALWAYS on point. You can tell alot about a taqueria by how they do some basic things: meat, rice, beans and authentic offerings. The rice here is light fluffy, moist and flavorful every time. The refried beans are among the most flavorful I have had. The pozole and chicken soup are consistently flavorful and delicious. The sopes...are SO Good. You know your at a great taqueria when the lunch and dinner rush clientele are all ordering in Spanish and sitting down with huge plates and bowls of the most delicious offerings with their families and friends.
