This review is based on take out/Delivery. First off the staff was rude on the phone when we ordered - it's never a good start when the person who is taking your order sounds inconvenienced by you. 2nd - the order took one hour and 50 minutes to arrive. Once the order finally arrived it was wrong. So after almost two hours - we had the wrong food and it was cold from obviously being in the drivers car too long. Almost 2 hours for 6 tacos and a quesadilla.... Even if the staff was friendly - the delivery didn't take so long and the order was correct - I wouldn't get food from here again. I like to be as honest as I can with my reviews so I'll tell the story. I did eat food from this location and was satisfied...the first two times. My poor review is a result of horrific service rather than bad food. My third time trying to order from this restaurant I placed an order on line for about $100 in food. An hour and a half later I called to find out what was going on with my food. Amazingly they seemed to have very little information but said the food was on the way. 15 minutes later I called again. I insisted on them calling the driver. I heard the call with the driver and the driver said "I do not have this order". The person on the phone lied to me and said that was the kitchen and they said that because the sent the food. I told them that I do not want the food anymore and they should credit my credit card. They were not able to do this but said the owner would call me back. I was irate. The owner and the manger who was on the phone told me that the credit would be processed the next day. So, here is the punch line. The charge for the food I never received went through with no problem. No credit. I am now charging this back on my credit card. I realize that restaurants make mistakes but when they lie to me I have no choice but to cut them off. Very poor experience. read more

The food surpassed our expectations. We ordered the burrito bowl with cárnitas and the pork was great because it wasnt oily and it didnt have the extra fat on it. We also got the alambre tacos (one of their specialties) and it was so good! Ive lived and tried so much food in Mexico and this was the best Alambre ive had because the steak was perfectly cooked and the onions were so tasty. The service was quick and the drinks were also great. My wife got the passion fruit lemonade (non alcoholic) and I got a Watermelon Margarita. Both were delicious. Will be back!! So I decided to give this plAce a try since I don't know much about long beach and the food around here. I tried calling over my order but no one picked up..Taqueria is a tiny little space i walked in and placed a order for 3 veg tacos and a Aztec soup. The total came out to be $20.50, I was like hell no, for 3 tacos and soup. I asked the girl waitress isn't the tacos 2 dollars it's taco Tuesday and she pointed to the sign saying it don't start til 4pm. So I just got the Aztec soup. I wish I didn't buy that because it came out to be $8.64. I only got 11 dollars back so it's a 9 dollar soup. This soup was just a basic tomato soup with avacado. No chips or nothing. Best mango lemonade ever I didn't even like mango before. the tacos are also very good the vegetarian option though could use some sort of food that has more substance so it's not so mushy. But I was told that the steak was extremely delicious I think it's a perfect addition to the West End area. This place used to be good, I don't know what happened. The service is terrible, waiter brought out another tables food to ours. Ended up being the wrong plate. The tacos are incredibly small, I counted 5 small pieces of chicken on my taco which is just a rip off. Bartenders eating and drinking behind bar, waiter keeps going out side and disappearing for 10 minutes. The meat is so dry and old. I never review anything giving restaurants the benefit of the doubt . We ordered 5 empty taco shells with lettuce and pico de gayo sauce on the side , Cuban sandwich w fries and a mixed drink (margarita) which they neglected to send with the order . The shells were past shelf life as was the bread for the Cuban sandwich. Any establishment that sells French fries knows you should vent the top so the fries won't be soggy (didn't happen) . Fresh lettuce non existent . For the price spent and the quality I actually feel cheated. I would not recommend this restaurant for takeout. read more

This place is AMAZING! We went twice in one week. Had tacos both times, sampled most off the menu and they're all incredible. Just the right size, various meats are perfectly cooked, and everything is spiced so well. The Mexican corn is also fantastic, the best I've had in a very long time. And on top of that, the very reasonably priced drinks are strong and delicious! If you get a double (we did), you're set. The food was delicious but the delivery driver was RUDE even though I tipped 20% via Yelp. I had the black bean soup and steak tacos. The soup was not in a soup container or even a cup. Not only was the container difficult to eat from there was no spoon included in my delivery. It's a treat for me to order out for lunch and I was very unhappy with my experience. Outstanding food and service. I always get their chicken burrito and honey jerk wings. The burrito is massive and consistently tastes amazing. They give you a large amount of chicken which I love. The wings are so tasteful and cooked perfectly. They are also very meaty. I had their taco Tuesday special last night and it was amazing. Great chicken tacos for only $2! I do go here nearly every week and will continue to do so. A business as such will always receive a tip even though I'm ordering takeout during these tough times. read more

Wow. The tacos were phenomenal. I popped in after work for takeout and was so impressed. They cooked the meat while I waited and chatted with the manager. This review is strictly based off of take out. I have gotten take out twice from this restaurant and they have come quickly each time! The food was good, but nothing to brag about. They have the best delivery deal on grub hub which is why I always order again (minimum $12 and free delivery). I've had the empanadas which were very good, but the burritos and the tacos that I've had lacked some flavor, but would still order again if I was in a Mexican mood. There aren't too many good Mexican choices in the Long Beach area (especially the west end), that I've tried so far, so this is a decent choice. read more

waited and waited. We sent an email and received no response. We tried calling several times and nobody answered the phone. The next day I expected a phone call or email. Absolutely nothing. I then called the establishment myself at 3 PM and spoke to a person who told me that they were closed and that they would refund the order but it would take several days. I explained that next time they really need to let their customers know if they are closed and should not be accepting orders if they are. My family and I waited for over an hour and a half for our dinner which never arrived. It would've been nice if they had at least contacted me the next day when they opened and offered some type of accommodation such as a small gift certificate or free dinner. The way this was handled was extremely disappointing and my wife and I will not be returning as customers. Everyone makes mistakes. Having lived in Mexico City in the past, I recognize the place and the food. It could be any higher-end Taqueria in Distrito Federal by nice shops and such. The tortilla texture, cheese, salsa, meats are all spot-on and artfully presented. The restaurants colors, pottery, seating, etc. are all as if I was back in Mexico. I fear LB may not be ready for such an authentic effort, Cabana down the street surely is not, and seemingly is still the go to spot, assumed for the booze and patio more than the canned food. If the Taqueria menu was expanded a bit to include a customizable burrito bowl, and ordered at the counter I would think the restaurant would fare better. Noting while we were there takeout was what we saw others wanting. A liquor license is apparently on the way too. Cerveza helps everything!! read more

Amazing amazing food! I am so happy there is an authentic Mexican Restaurant in LB! For starters we had their ceviche, guacamole and yuca empanadas. For our main course we had one of every taco and a chicken quesadilla. Everything was so fresh and delicious. Our waiter was great. It's a small intimate space that really makes you feel like you've left LB. They only have one dessert and it's their coconut Flan. Which is ALL you need. Left feeling satisfied and not stuffed. But even when I tried ordering in Spanish, he screwed up my order THREE times. The chicken in my tacos smelled (and tasted) like it was from last Thursday. The veggies in my taco were completely RAW and inedible. The guy messed up the order so bad they had to bring out the ingredients and let me make it myself. Authentic tacos, seems fresh. Specials on Tuesdays for taco Tuesday. I asked for hot sauce because they weren't as spicy as I would like. They didn't come with a second soft tortilla like most authentic tacos or the slices of radishes but that's not a big deal. Chips and guacamole were pretty good. I love this place the food is so fresh and authentic.I recommend the steak tacos and a classic margarita.They have a small bar, an easy place to take over making it feel like a private party with your friends. The atmosphere is great for date night or if you wanna have good conversation. I like the cabana but it's gets loud and the food is ok. Was so excited to try this place!! We sat inside (just 2 of us) and it took 10 minutes for water to be brought to the table. After the water was brought to us a waitress asked if anyone has taken our order and we said no. She walked away and never came back!! After 20 minutes of sitting their we decided to leave. Both waitresses saw us get up and leave and nothing was said. There where a few open tables and 2 waitresses...a very small place so not sure what the issue was.
