Salsa verde Fresher and brighter. Fixings The grilled onions with habanero were a great touch -- sweet, slightly spicy, and super flavorful. Overall what stood out most was the value and generosity. For a one-pound combo they give you a lot of food and all the toppings to go with it. It's the kind of place where you can easily feed two people (or have leftovers). The cheese enchiladas (get the regular dinner!), crispy tacos, queso, and just about everything on the menu are excellent. We used to live in central Austin, but now we happily drive from Cedar Park because this is our place. What truly sets Maudie's North Lamar apart, though, is the people. The staff, especially Mr. Emilio, genuinely care about their customers and provide exceptional service. We've practically raised our kids at Maudie's. Emilio went from seeing them in high chairs to welcoming them home from college with the same warm smile and excitement. If you are a fan of the 'heat' try the Pete's breakfast taco. Oh, and they make their chips in-house e-v-e-r-y morning and hot sauce from fresh ingredients (like most of the menu). I also like that much of the staff has been there a long time, with many there since they opened. Lot's of other regulars too -- always a good sign.
