When we entered there was only 1 person here waiting for her to-go order. We were seated quickly, gave menus, chips and salsa were brought to the table, our drink order taken. The salsa was very good, flavorful but not hot. We ordered the Texas Fajitas with corn tortillas. It was very good! Two of us visited early on a Monday evening. The favor was cute, especially if you like Mexican Chihuahuas! I had a large and very potent margarita on the rocks for $10. The Chile Rellanos were awesome. As good as I've had in San Antonio Tx and SoCal. The Nachos Supremo was odd, and did not fit the model I have from anywhere else. A few nacho chips around the edges with what seemed to be a pound of chicken and ground beef in the center with a bit of refritos and a dab of gauc on top. Not much cheese, but some of that liquid queso I'm not fond of. I would definitely return for the Rellanos and maybe a burrito. read more

I stopped there not knowing it was no longer a diner. Was initially disappointed because it had been a GREAT diner but WOW!! The menu is huge and varied. I ordered chicken tacos on flour tortillas; it came with rice and beans. I never like the beans but these were delicious! Same for the rest of the meal. My friend had huevos rancheros and said they tasted as good as they looked, which was great! So, after many visits I still like this place. The food is great and has always been fresh. I only have one question. Every time I order, the food is at my table with in two minutes. That kind of leads me to believe that it's mostly pre-made. It's still good though don't get me wrong. The salsa has always been a little lacking though. And today is no exception. I took one bite of salsa with a chip and it tastes and looks like cold tomato soup with a couple chopped pieces of jalapeños and onions. If they would up their game on the salsa, it would be a great hit. I love Mexican food and most importantly I love good flavorful salsa. The service is still excellent. It's a cute little restaurant. Monterrey is definitely a 4/5 stars - the food is always delicious and the service is super friendly and so speedy. They are your standard small-town Mexican food restaurant but the flavor gets turned up to 11. The portions are normally too large to finish in one sitting but the prices are extremely reasonable. This is my go to spot for Mexican food. It's clean, has a lovely staff and is usually super quick and delicious. The menu is large with a good variety of options. This is my 4 year olds favorite restaurant and she asks to go all the time- we usually go a few times a month. The chips and salsa are great, we always get guacamole too. There are several kids options. My go to is carne asada tacos on flour tortillas add shredded cheese and sour cream. The portions are huge. The shrimp quesadillas are also outstanding. My husband has a few favorites. Normally I stick to beer but they do have weeknight specials on margaritas. There is always plenty of parking and have takeout available. Stopped here for dinner on our way home from Watkins Glen when another restaurant was not opened yet. Service was great, the atmosphere was cute, the food was good. I just got a basic veggie combo with a cheese enchilada, cheese quesadilla, and bean burrito. My partner got a steamy plate with chorizo, chicken, and steak along with sides that he really liked. This was a delightful surprise. A friend took me who has been a few times and assured me the food was good. I was starving, so I was happy to eat anywhere. I was leaning towards placing a to-go order but upon walking in, there was barely anyone inside and all tables were appropriately spaced so we felt comfortable to dine-in. Waitstaff was attentive and super sweet. There were so many food options I didn't really know where to even begin but the lunch specials seemed too good of a deal to pass up. I got the Quesadilla Rellena and WOW. We barely talked and just ate our food. Service was quick and the beans-- i usually despise beans and had forgotten to ask for no beans but I was GLAD to have them on my plate because my oh my! The only disappointment was the rice. And the house margarita?!?! Amazing!! I don't think you can be too upset after a meal here. Just maybe make sure you have some time for a nap afterwards. read more

Last minute overnight stay in Finger Lakes . This restaurant is next door to the Fairmont Marriot where we stayed . The food tasted authentic and all homemade. The chimichunga was delicious. My husband had the Tacos Diablo. They were perfect and were sprinkled with fresh cilantro. The service was excellent. I definitely recommend this wonderful restaurant when you are in the area. This is quite simply the worst food I have ever eaten!! I am Hispanic and com from the west coast where Latin food actually is prepared properly. I ordered a combo plate very simple. A bean burrito, bean tostada and cheese enchilada. I Wasn't going to eat the enchilada because I didn't need it and I don't like cheese enchiladas. I have never had a bean burrito prepared with a bunch of cheese, and sauce rendering it a slop of mess. The tostada was a sloppy mess of I don't even know what! I expect an tostada to have a crunchy corn tortilla with beans cheese and lettuce on top. This was a 4 inch catastrophe of slop. The only thing that was even edible was the side of rice I ordered. Waited 10 minutes to even get someone's attention to bring the check and another 15 for it to get rung through. Not very busy at all and there were 3 waitresses walking around the tables constantly. That's all they were doing, just walking. Only one waitress seemed to be attentive and she helped all the tables at some point. We will be back! My husband and I have been awaiting the opening of this new Geneva Mexican restaurant since we saw the renovations started. Today, we took the opportunity to visit with our 7 year old son and were impressed. Brand new colorfully painted interior with new decor and plenty of seating in booths or tables. Friendly server, expansive menu that includes beer, drinks (blue margarita was strong, but tasty) and has a children's section. Food was very hot and tasty, recommend the queso fundido! Enchilada platter with chicken, beef and cheese looked amazing and my taco salad had a delicious, fresh and warm tortilla bowl - I didn't have a chance of finishing the entire plate. This place overcharged our order, the prices were higher than stated in the menu, and they also charged us a to-go fee that was close to 4-5 dollars. The food was not authentically made... the chips and beans were clearly store bought, all meats were bland and tasteless. The "guacamole salad" consisted of chopped romaine lettuce, a chuck of avocado, and one slice of tomato with sour cream thrown on top. The salsa was the only good thing we had.
