Mexican style resturant. I have posted this resturant chain before. However it Maybe this particular location or maybe the entire chain is taking a nose dive. They were known for their small affordable tacos that were.delicious. Not this time our tacos were oily and the meet dry. I know odd combination. The orchata was delicious as usual and the table side ensalada. The service was top notch always has been with true Mexican hospitality. The ambiance is well lighted med noise multiple style tables with open kitchen. I would say they are more expensive now with about 25 dollars a person with is pricey for.a tacoreia. With so many options in the Chi maybe try somewhere else....heart breaking because this was my joint at one time

    Taco Tuesday (pollo & asada)

Located near a trendy beer tasting room, Taqueria Los Comales caught my attention due to their Taco Tuesday deal. They sell Asada, Chorizo, Pollo street tacos and more at $1.60/piece. They have an extensive menu (like humongous) and I must come back to try more. That said, their Asada tacos were great! See images for more context/details.

The ladies make drinks here, but it's table service.

The Creosote family hereby casts its vote on the side of Los Comales #11, an honest, stripped-down restaurant for Mexican families living nearby. I can't dispute that others have had different experiences. As part of a sixteen-location chain, the staff is going to vary. But here's our view: - Nice, big menu with a wide range of typical favorites plus authentic items like nopales. - Authentic food for real people (there were 9 other parties there tonight, about 7 were conversing in Spanish). - Large servings (my enchiladas plate came with 4 enchiladas, the fajitas came with 5 tortillas and served two people). - Excellent salsa; pickled vegetables on the table; fresh limes by the bucket-load. - Greasy tacos if you let them sit in a bag for 20 minutes - real tortillas are made with lard and real meat has grease in it and if they're hot and bagged they're going to get greasy. Duh. - Excellent service by two hard-working Mexican ladies. So, would I travel a long way to get here, passing several other good Mexican restaurants along the way? Nope, I would not. But if I were in the neighborhood again with a taste for some real food, not the Hipster version, you bet. Give it a try.

    House margarita

Had a fantastic lunch at Los Comales on a Saturday afternoon. We enjoyed barbicoa, Al pastor, and chorizo tacos in addition to the best chips and salsa I've had in years. The margarita was generous, the service wildly friendly, and the lunch for two only cost $40 before gratuity. We will definitely be back.

I've been coming to Los Comales for over 20 years now, and they've never disappointed. One thing I barely notice though, they don't all have the same menu and some of their prices will vary on certain dishes. This time around, I decided to order a lengua Torta. My wife a carne Asada burrito and my son ordered some tacos. Los Comales doesn't serve your traditional lengua. Instead of cutting the lengua in cubes, they serve it almost whole. Not only do they do that to their tacos but for their Tortas as well. The Torta was delicious and came with lettuce, tomatoes and beans. My only complaint is why the hell would they put the Torta all the way in the bottom of the bag with the tacos and burrito on top of it. My Torta was completely smashed. My wife's burrito was also delicious. We substituted the lettuce for rice and it more for an excellent burrito. They unfortunately don't use arrachera for their carne Asada, rather cheaper taco meat, but as long as it's seasoned and cooked right, it will do the trick most of the time. I've been coming here for more than 20 years and I don't think I'll be stopping anytime soon.

Great spot for a late night taco. All the times that I've been here have been around midnight or later after a night out on the town. Good tacos, fast service, and they have a parking lot! I usually get the 3 taco dinner and it never disappoints. Love their green salsa. Check them out, they are on the less busier block of Milwaukee avenue. In between the Logan Square bars and the Wicker Park bars.

They have free parking and you can also park on the street. They have a good location., The service is good since the servers come around often and got my order right. You can pay in cash or order with application. The food is good and comes out fast. A casual place to have tacos.

The family meal. It came with fries, which were very good and we ate them before the picture.

We enjoyed the food. We ordered the family deal #2 on Uber Eats (it wasn't on the regular menu) and picked it up. It included 4 burrito dinners, one order of fries, and 4 horchatas for $29.99. You can't pick the burritos, but I was a good deal. 1 chorizo, 1 steak, 1 chicken, and 1 vegetarian. Everything was pretty good. It came with spicy carrots and red sauce/green sauce. The fries remind me of curly fries or the fries at Popeyes. They were great. We would definitely get it again. Also, $1.25 tacos on Tuesdays.

Food just ok, it's not skirt steak for your tacos, is just regular cheap steak meat. I order a steak torta and had to send it back, since they added a purée of guacamole on top instead of fresh avocado. I order the steak torta with extra sour cream, cheese, avocado and was charge a total of $10.25 for the torta. I felt it was a bit pricey for the quality. The service is fast they do give you chips, and salsa, and spicy carrots, cauliflower and jalapeños peppers.

    Birria tacos

Idk why there's bad reviews. An honest review is that they have real authentic Mexican food not like every other place. Amazing food best tacos I've tried in the US tbh. The service is good and regular.

We stood at the door for about 20 minutes before someone finally told us the wait would be 1-2 hours. Keep in mind, the place is pretty small and already crowded, so there's barely any room to stand while you wait. After getting on the waitlist, we decided to go to a nearby spot for food--but not even 5 minutes later, we got called back saying our table was ready. When we returned, we were seated along the wall in a very tight space--so tight that if I stretched my arm out, I would've hit the person next to me. We noticed a large table nearby had been sitting for a while without food. When their food finally came out, it made us realize our wait would probably be even longer. After another 20 minutes passed and we still hadn't been able to order, we decided to leave. I'm not sure the space is fully ready for the rush right now--it feels overcrowded and service is slow. I'll give it another try once the hype dies down. I'm happy for their success, though--just be prepared to be patient when you go.

Starting with margaritas (because obviously ‍), queso and chips that were dangerously good, and the chicken empanadas that came out perfectly crispy with so much flavor. I genuinely cannot stop thinking about it. So savory, flavorful, comforting, and packed with crispy carnitas on top with the eggs and pickled onions... literally unreal. And then the skirt steak tacos absolutely stole the show. The steak was cooked perfectly, packed with flavor, and paired so perfectly with all the toppings and sauces. Every single bite tasted fresh and homemade in the best way possible. And can we talk about the ambience for a second because WOW. The music, the energy, the vibe inside, everyone celebrating, the drinks flowing -- it felt like the perfect Cinco de Mayo dinner spot. The service was also AMAZING from start to finish and made the entire experience even better. There is no parking but a garage across the street along with metered Street parking. Beware parking cost $46 for about 2.5 hrs. Entrees were steak and shrimp for me, and Tampiquena for my friend. In both dishes, the steak was done to perfection. The sauce that came with my shrimp was spicy and deep--lots of flavor layers there. Both of us took home portions of our meals because there was a lot of food on the plates.
