I remembered around the corner there was a restaurant that had been recommended in the past, but I never got the chance to check out. Being that I was in the area, I figured let's give this spot a try. Lo and behold, El Pueblo was only six minutes down the road! There was a 20 minute wait, but I was greeted kindly by the staff, and when I walked in you could tell this place was super authentic. The decor was super vibrant and music was bumping. They do not have alcohol, but they have coronas and a margarita type glass premixed for purchase. That held us over for the time being. The chips and salsa were phenomenal. The salsa had some type of sweet pepper flavor to it and you could tell it was homemade. My friend got three tacos with rice and beans and I got the flautas you were able to choose your own meat, which was really cool no extra charge. Watching the receipt get pulled from the trash also left us questioning everything a little after that. What concerned me the most was that after digging through the trash, the cook never changed gloves before going back to handling food. That completely made me uncomfortable about the cleanliness and food handling practices. On top of that, the bathroom was dark, not very clean, and out of paper towels, which added to the overall poor impression of the place. The food itself had good flavor, but the service and attention to hygiene definitely need improvement.

I even ended up not leaving a tip for the waitress because the situation left such a bad impression overall. I genuinely don't understand employees who act like honoring a valid promotion is coming out of their own paycheck. Customers shouldn't have to argue over specials that are actively being advertised.
