Been heading to this location for a few years now. The owners are great and the food has been 5*, but the last few visits have us saying to each other, "this isn't as good right?" Service still friendly with new workers at Balboa location, but the product is noticeably different without the OG crew. Prices went up like everywhere else. I'd say Balboa is now 3.75*. read more

So I have been trying and failing to come through for a while. I always seemed to be a few minutes late but today, today I made it! After a recommendation I went with the steak and chorizo breakfast burrito and it was amazing! The steak was juicy and the chorizo had these little crispy bits which blended well together. As for their salsa game. Their salsa verde and their chipotle salsa had really great flavor however the salsa roja had a better heat. All in all I am glad that I made it today and I will be back for coffee!!! read more

If you're going to do something, do it right and Taqueria Nopal makes an excellent breakfast burrito. It's nice to create an identity where you do a couple things well and not try to do it all. Stopped by for breakfast and ended up having one of the best lattes and burrito I've had in a long time. I ordered the banana iced latte and oddly enough, it didn't taste like banana at all, BUT somehow I didn't even care because it was that good. Smooth, had that coffee flavor, a little sweet, and honestly just a really really solid latte! For food, I got the carne asada breakfast burrito with everything on it. First thing I noticed was the size. This thing was huge! They definitely do not skimp on the fillings. There was plenty of carne asada and egg in every bite, and it was more than enough food to keep me full for hours. The real star though, might have been the salsas. They had a red, green, and orange salsa, and every single one was delicious. Each had its own flavor and level of heat, and they took an already great burrito to the next level. That orange sauce (not sure what it is) was my favorite! On top of the food being delicious, the service was awesome. Everyone was friendly, and the food came out surprisingly fast since it was a bit busy. It's always a bonus when you're craving breakfast and don't have to wait forever for it. Taqueria nopal has been popping up on my tiktok for a bit! Now that there's a location slightly closer to me, we decided to try it out! We got 2 burritos and 2 lattes, our subtotal was around $45. The burritos were good, I do wish the ingredients were more mixed in. It felt like if you took a bite from one side you'd get more egg and if you took a bite on the other side you'd get the meat. The flavors were delicious, I did appreciate the fragrant chorizo and the seasoned steak. My favorite thing from this spot was the banana cream latte! I really enjoyed the balance of flavor and really liked the fact that I could taste the caffeine! For me this latte was a little more vanilla heavy than banana, but that vanilla syrup (I'm assuming that's what it is) was very delicious. I refrained from leaving a negative review the first time. Let me start by saying they have good breakfast burritos. Now why the 1 star? First time I go I ask for 3 sides of sauce. They tell me it's limit 1. I say I'm willing to pay for extra he says we can't. The cup of sauce is the size of your finger but ok no problem. This time I go I ask for sauce on side he goes we don't do sauce on side. I'm like bro I see the cup right there I want cilantro crema on side he says we can't DO SAUCES ON SIDE. Tater tots, scrambled eggs, onions salsa and your choice of meats, or veggies, bacon seems to be the preferred meat because at 10:30 am it was already sold out. They don't skimp out on anything so it's a lot! Next time I'm trying the bacon burrito but I don't think I'll be adding egg, not a big fan of the scrambled eggs personally. I was so excited to find a breakfast burrito spot near me so I stopped by on a Friday morning around 11am. There was no line, but a few people were waiting for their orders. The guy who took my order was nice but he seemed a little distracted. I ordered the bacon burrito, and they called my name within 5 minutes. This place knows what they're doing!! Hands down one of the best breakfast burritos in the valley and probably in all of LA too. I got the asada burrito with caramelized onions and pico de gallo. The meat was seasoned perfectly and the burrito was huge easily enough for two people. You also can't beat the price at $12 per burrito. If that wasn't enough, their specialty lattes are incredible. I ordered the Mexican Mocha and the Honey Einspanner. Both were great but the Honey Einspanner was on a whole other level. The staff was super friendly and explained the menu to me. I have heard many good things about this place and here I am finally trying it today. Boy I have been missing out on this one. They have a choice of asada, bacon, chorizo, and veggie burrito. They also have a coffee and matcha menu as well. Perfect spot for breakfast! Today I got a bacon burrito and I could not rave about it enough. Perfect size, not oily, everything they add in their burrito like the potato and bacon had a crunch. Their sauces also blends so well with all their ingredients. The coffee I got was an iced vanilla latte and I thought it was perfect. Sweetness was perfect for me (not super sweet) how I like it and their coffee beans that they use is so smooth. When I went, the service was fast - didn't have a long wait time at 0930am on a friday. Staff were super friendly and they really build good rapport with their customers. I understand wanting to make fresh coffee, but it felt disorganized and inconsiderate of customers' time. I decided to give them one last chance and ordered delivery. The food arrived quickly, but halfway through eating my breakfast taco I found what appeared to be a long black hair cooked into the eggs. I immediately lost my appetite and ended up vomiting. Second time, we ordered the same thing and got the wrong order--but honestly, it still tasted good. Third time, same order again, and we got something completely different. I'm pretty lenient, but I'm just not always in the mood for a surprise. This is totally subjective--if you like that kind of unpredictability, this might be your spot. We love trying food trucks and stands, so that's not the issue at all. It honestly feels like they're just having a great time in there, which is awesome for them--but it might not be the most effective when it comes to getting orders right. When you're spending $15-17 on a burrito, you really just want what you ordered. Kudos to them for getting the business going--this is meant as constructive criticism. I have passed by the spot for a long time on my way to work and wanted to try it, but it was always closed by the time I was heading home. We finally decided to get some breakfast burritos and ordered 14 of them. Each and every one of them was made to perfection, exactly as it was written on the paper (no cheese, no onions, etc) and all done in about 30 minutes.
