I've passed it a thousand times; yet, was never motivated to stop until this week. I ordered 4 pastor tacos and 4 steak tacos. My order was ready in 5 minutes, and it cost around $35. Cash only spot with an ATM inside. Ambiance was basic taco spot. Service was basic taco spot. Owner is a real OG and an honorable man in my eyes after I seen him take care of some people in need while I was there. He was very humble about it. The pastor taco and salsa roja was my favorite. The pastor was marinated to perfection, not to sweet, and was some of the leanest pastor that I have ever tasted. The salsa verde and salsa roja were delicious. The steak was chopped nicely and was relatively lean as well. These are not artisan tacos or hipster tacos; rather, they are authentically basic Mexican street tacos (I mean this in a positive way) and priced as such. Overall I give this Taqueria 3.5 stars because they are extra mid, slightly above average, not bad, but not particularly great either. Give them a chance and decide for yourself! read more

Did a quick pick up order this weekend as this place is a neighborhood joint for me. I noticed last time that the burrito was a bit bitter and so this time I got it without onions and it was much much better. Actually, the nachos were probably the best. Shortly growing on me. I ordered 3 tacos, and in addition to those and a salsa, the gentleman brought out a little soup for me too (that I did not order). I have never in my life had food come out this quickly. The tacos were ready for me as soon as I sat down, pretty much. They were warm and delicious. I got carne asada, chorizo, and al pastor. The chorizo taco was my favorite. Be aware: it's CASH ONLY but there is an ATM inside. The area is small but there are two bars on the side to sit and eat at. No water cups, and no bathrooms. That being said, they were kind enough to fill up my water bottle from the sink. From the outside this place is very unassuming, so I am really glad I came in. Tacos are the key to my heart! I have made it a mission to try all the tacos places the city has to offer. I had heard about to this place for awhile and I finally got to trying it. Thank god I did. The tacos were so delicious. My boyfriend got the carne asada tacos and I ordered the al pastor tacos. The tacos were full of flavor, saucy, and super tasty. Holy cow. I wish I had tried other items here because the steak taco was delicious. It was only $2.60 and I came here with 2 others around midnight. There was only 2 other people around at that time and another 2 were coming in as my group left. We also ordered a horchata and it was delicious! What I loved about it was that there was no ice in it. The large cup was all horchata! I think they must keep it in a cooler because it was cold despite no ice. Our go-to taqueria in an area full of great options. After our recent trip to Mexico, my husband's now even more convinced that this is the real deal. Each time we think we just want a couple tacos, our eyes get bigger than our tummies and before we know it we have 8 tacos and a massive bowl of soup. But it's tacos, so there's never too many. Right? Highly recommend the birria soup on the weekends, cabeza, lengua, tilapia.. actually just get whatever catches your eye. It's all good. It was a Tuesday, and I was out with a couple of friends and hunger struck us all, being Tuesday with thought of Taco Tuesday. On our way to another place we spotted Traspasada, and it was open. One of them spoke up and said, have you been there, how is it? I replied, yes and it's been sometime, but it was good. It seems I've been to all the little hole in the wall Taquerias. A simple taco with onions and cilantro beats a fast food burger any day of the week, and shouldn't be limited to a Tuesday. This place serves up really good tacos, and the choices seem endless. Tortillas fresh and tasty. They're fast too, I'll repeat fast, we had just paid and were putting away our wallets and they're handing us our bags of tacos and a torta with all the fixings. I was very underwhelmed by this place. I ordered the steak, pork skin, and beef brain (feeling adventurous at the time...). I wasn't impressed by the steak but the pork skin was packed with flavor. If you're into something fatty and hearty and aren't counting calories, I'd go for that option. The beef brain one was kind of gross. I'm all for trying new things but the consistency was rubbery and it was hard to shake the feeling that I was ingesting brain. But at least that's one more thing to check off my bucket list. I've been going to this place for over 10 years and they never disappoint. I used to live half a block away from this joint and would order 75+ tacos on a whim and they will have it ready for me to pick up in 15 minutes!!! Prices have gone up, most likely because the area has been totally gentrified. But this place kept us with the quality of their food and service. This place is legit - much better food than what you will get from the more popular Big Star place, at half the price. No liquor license (at least I don't think they do) and the place is tiny. But if you are craving late night tacos, burritos and other kinds of Mexican food that you fancy... this is the place to go! read more

So I've been a customer here for about 7 years. I've always loved their steak tacos and ground beef tacos. The service to me continues to be the best I've experienced. Quick, accurate and tasty. I don't get there as much as I used to and they aren't opened as late as they used to. I used to say their steak was the best. Sadly not anymore. I don't know what it is? The steak looks and texture wise is the same but the taste is strange. Don't know if it's the recipe for the seasoning but it's not the same. The ground beef is still the best. They don't do flan anymore which was the best flan I've had. My mom still loves their seafood cocktail. I usually went out of my way to go there. A no-frills taco spot in West Town. For $2.60 a taco in this area, it is unheard of. Literally a few blocks down, I visited a taco spot that was a whole dollar more. Carne Asada (Steak): This is always a go-to for me. Can you really go wrong with Steak Tacos? The answer is no. Pair that was the Verde (green) salsa and you're golden. Al Pastor (Pork): Saucy, full of flavor, and absolutely tasty. Both of these suggestions are the safe options. I'm coming by here every time I'm around the area. So good! Wow I love this place!! I finished my goat soup til the last drop. Tender meat and flavorful soup. Perfect for Sunday brunch/lunch after a night out before. They have all the innards taco-- beef heart, tongue, brain, and tripe. Of course there's also the usual chicken and fish (tilapia). Really great. We ate there rather than takeout. My home away from home! Ever since moving into the neighborhood, this place has quickly become my favorite taco joint and I hit them up at least a couple times a week. I've gone an unhealthy amount of times. Unlike most people, I judge a place by how well they make their Tripas (tripe) and Lengua (beef tongue) tacos. They fry their Tripas crispy like I like it and the Lengua is so tender. I'm also a big fan of their Tilapia tacos. Instead of the fish being fried, a nice hunk of tilapia is seared to perfection and topped with a crunchy purple cabbage slaw. Drizzle on the the black chili oil and you got a great fish taco! They also have burritos, tortas, soups, breakfast, and dinner plates. It's basically a full restaurant menu inside a tiny hole in the wall. All the food here is excellent, just like their service. They're open pretty late, especially on weekends, and are cash only with an ATM. Come hungry! read more

The tacos here were phenomenal. This was a small quaint place that we came to after a concert. The only issue I didn't like is that it was a cash only establishment. The prices for these tacos were a good price to pay for tacos. We also had Pasales the soup and the man was able to split it for us all three ways. They also have the ordering process down to a science. Even with a full restaurant, the guy at the counter remembered what I'd ordered and brought it out to me. So service-wise, awesome. The food was just ok. I got a carne asada burrito; it had a generous portion of steak, but the flavors were lacking in my opinion. It was also a little pricey compared to other places in the area and is cash only. Overall, I'd go back to try other items on their menu, but given the price and being cash only I'll probably try some other spots first. read more

My husband and I tried this for authentic Mexican. It was ok but not my new go-to taco place. We tried: Chips and guac. $7 seemed steep but the guac was good and the chips were salty. A great neighborhood spot with super fast and really friendly service, as well as reliably amazing food to boot. Everything I've tried here so far has been spot on. The last time I was there I got the carne asada burrito and it was absolutely perfect. The tacos here are delicious but more importantly, the tacos here are $2.50. TWO DOLLAR AND FIFTY CENTS for amazing delicious tacos. We stopped in here after heading to the Chipp Inn for some drinks and go two tacos each. $10! I will definitely stop back for late night tacos when I'm in the area. Got the carne asada with the salsa verde. The salsa had a good spice and flavor to it, I could probably just eat it with a spoon and be happy. Staff was friendly even though we walked in less than 10 minutes before they closed. The tacos were a little cilantro-heavy so if you're cilantro-averse just keep that in mind. I'm one of those people that often times thinks cilantro tastes like soap, but for some reason it was delicious on these tacos.
